We ordered: 3 piece leg (fried chicken) with two sides (Mac & cheese and greens with cornbread muffin, rib sandwich, catfish filet sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and fried okra. The fried chicken was goo, perfectly crispy, and there was a custom taste to the spices they used (though the mix personally wasn't my favorite). Hubs thought his catfish sandwich was really good and he loved the fried okra. Kid who ordered the pulled pork thought it was delicious. The rib sandwich was a bit of a surprise to the other kid - he thought it would be rib meat vs ribs with bone on in the sandwich. The Mac & cheese was good and the greens and cornbread were fabulous. Someone mentioned the price for the amount of food. I feel like the sandwiches were reasonable. The price/amount ration for the fried chicken plate was also as expected. So, all in all, support this small business, they've got good food, the customer service was excellent, and personally, I don't think there's any concern about the price/amount ratio. Enjoy!

I'm so happy this place is right down the street! Some may say the prices are a bit steep. I don't think so, without being an industrial restaurant, these prices are to be expected. I thought the portion sizes are perfect.

I was hoping for collard greens but didn't see it on the list. I also got the highly raved about peach cobbler. Everything was delicious. The ribs were tender and the flavor was there in all the items. Delicious. It comes with 2 slices of bread. The only thing I was bummed about was the peach cobbler. Very disappointed in that. It looked like diced peaches and was a bit of let down. Otherwise I'd return to try other meal items.

The mac n cheese was good, as were the yams. My daughter had the chopped pork sandwich, said it was good. She complained that her green beans were over-seasoned, making it a little too salty for her liking, but she was high on the yams as well. Looking forward to trying other items on their menu soon!

The Mac & cheese was flavorful and cheesy just the right amount. The collard greens after adding my preferred spices - crushed red pepper and sazon was good too. It was enough for 3 meals. I hope it's a standard on the menu because I will definitely be bad. The sweet potato pie tasted homemade and tasted like the way I make mine so that was good. It's located off the road and there's a stand of produce nearby. Be aware of forms of payment.

Needed more seasoning but I think it was also a texture thing for me. I thought it was going to be baked but had a crisp exterior. I probably just didn't read. Nothing that the restaurant did wrong. I'm going back. The Parmesan dressing alone... has me in a chokehold. Everyone I was with lived their food.

I lucked out and happened to be passing through when they were open. Be sure to call before coming…read moreover, they have tricky hours. I walked a mile to the place from a nearby RV camp (the last 1/4 mile was sketchy, with no shoulder and very speedy drivers). Arrived to see a well populated but spacious parking area; locals apparently flock to the place, always a good sign. I was seated quickly, and the folks there were super friendly and fun to talk to. After asking what they recommended I ordered a combo of fried catfish filets and fried fresh (vs popcorn) shrimp, with a side of cheese grits and coleslaw. Came with a couple hush puppies too. All were delicious, and very filling. Iced tea (1/2 and 1/2 sweet and plain) was great, and they gave me a cup to go when I left. Great experience all around!

The foundation is still there with the rooms and decor but with lots of tables set up, similar to hosting a gathering at home. Not only that, everyone here was really friendly! We really felt welcomed, and though the second time, service wasn't as outstanding, it was still good. I think they really nailed down the vibe of southern hospitality. For drinks, they have seasonal cocktails, which I think is fun, but I'm not around at a time where I would be able to chill and drink. I end up with a go-to sweet tea. Strong and sweet, that it kept me up, but not the strongest nor sweetest I've had. There's also complimentary bread that's mini muffin shaped and dense like a biscuit. It's buttery and salty, but I like it! Before coming, I saw so many things about the sampler, so I definitely wanted to get it and try out. Love the fried green tomatoes with the honey mustard. It didn't feel oily, and it held up pretty well when cut and dipped into sauce. The pimento cheese here is probably the best I've ever had, but I will admit that I have not had many (I tend to not like it). In fact, both these items stay on my mind enough that I do think about coming here more often than I thought I would. And this is just for the apps. The rest of the entrees are pretty standard. Some better than others, but that's due to preference. I haven't gone through the whole menu, but I do prefer their chicken to some of the other menu items. For their sides, I haven't seen or heard of some of them. I asked about them, and they were described p well, enough for me to not want to try congealed salad. I'm not a big fan of jello type things, but I did try the pear salad. Not for me. Absolutely not for me. I did really enjoy the collard green soup and sweet potato souffle though! They were great, esp the souffle. It was my first time having nuts in them, and I loved it so much. Everything else was alright, like I'm sure you've had or can make better mac. Overall, I'm glad to know this place because it's a good rec for the area if you're in the mood for Southern food. It's not a bad pick for vegetarians either, though they would only have appetizers and sides to pick from, but I liked them more than the entrees. There's a parking lot, and it's in a good location to see the rest of downtown Perry too.
