Would give this place zero stars if I could. The workers there are actually pretty cool but the owner is full of it and super rude. You ever wanted a good piece of fish and it goes horribly wrong? Well that's what happened to me. I went here on a recommendation from a dear friend/relative. We're still relatives, but I'm not taking seadood spot recommendations any more for the sake of our friendship. I read previous reviews from yeppers After I had my experience...in hindsight I should of read them first. Customer service was poor. Sanitization procedures were sketchy. Lots of signage...no adherence. I ordered the chicken and whiting lunch telephonically. But I received two chicken lunches. My relative cosigned that I had placed the order correctly, however I was told the order taker doesn't usually get it wrong soooo oh well and it would take about 20 minutes to prepare and oh...it costs more but I guess I won't charge you. Really? The chicken and fish seemed to have the same liberal dusting of Season Salt and were very greasy which was evident by looking at the small brown paper bag. Very disappointed. I'm willing to try again. However I will also specify no Season Salt. I want to taste the meat/fish. read more

Ole skippers. I've lived in Perry my whole life, minus a few excursions. I've never had better chicken. It has the most perfect crispy skin, salty (in a good way), and juicy inside. Food is delicious, but it takes a while to get unless you call ahead. This is not a place to sit and eat your food; take it and go. Recommend the chicken thigh lunch special as take out, which you eat back at home (roughly 20 min drive preferred), giving the food time to cool to a proper temperature. read more

Great chicken, but even better is the cole slaw and chicken gizzards. Their cole slaw is the best in Perry. May be the only place in Perry to get fried gizzards but I'm not sure. Be sure and request that they are soft cooked and not too hard. read more

This is a great spot in Perry Ga. It's nothing special to look at when you pull up, but the fried liberally seasoned chicken is great. I'm kind of biased because when I was growing up, my mother loved their chicken and she would always get it after church on Sundays or when she was in the area. please do yourself a favor and try this place, it's a best kept secret to everyone except those who live in Perry. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I paid almost $20 for one piece of catfish, one order of okra and a 2 PC white chicken dinner. I arrived to pick up my food only to discover that they charge a $2 convenience fee to use your card. I get home and the food us ABSOLUTELY INEDIBLE. This place is full of crap & you should frequent at your own risk. My dad called in a fish dinner & a chicken dinner. When he got home, this place gave him two chicken dinners. And one of the chicken dinners has 2 pieces of chicken as opposed to 4. He called to tell him they messed up the order. Mgt was rude & full of crap. They refused to own up to their mistake. After some time, they admitted the mistake & offered to give us what we ordered if we could bring the other meal back. We couldn't do that. My dad doesn't have a car. I called back & told them they messed up the order & asked if there was any other way they would rectify the situation, especially since even the chicken dinner had the wrong amount. My hope was that we'd be given an opportunity to go back on a different day, when my dad had a car, and get what we ordered and paid for. The mgr sounded like a fat hillbilly with poor listening & hearing skills. The convo ended abruptly with no resolution. He even accused me of lying. Again, frequent this place at your own risk. I am from Ohio originally, and my whole life I was told about how good southern fried chicken was. I moved to Macon 7 years ago, and to be honest, good southern fried chicken was not to be found anywhere, until I discovered Skipper Johns. It is simply the very best fried chicken in central Georgia. I would often drive 40 minutes there and 40 minutes back from Macon to Perry, just to get my 20 piece all dark meat. It's a cash only place, and I suggest calling your order in 25 minutes in advance at least. You'll pull up to their business and you will be underwhelmed by the building for sure, but once you get a bite of their chicken, holy crap, you just discovered THE place to get fried chicken in Georgia. This company has easily the best chicken and fries in town. We have grown up in Perry all our lives and my family still enjoys the skipper jones recipe. While I was waiting I witnessed a lot of attitude from the staff. Maybe its their way of doing business, but it surely isn't good customer service. I actually heard them tell a customer that seemed annoyed about the 30 minute wait that they could go to KFC. Seriously!? So again, order ahead and pick it up to avoid that nonsense. I had the 4 piece dinner, which comes with fries and a roll. All of it was good. The chicken was crispy and not greasy. It smelled amazing. The only knock was that the seasoning was too much. Yep, that was pretty awesome. Heard about it, read about it, but just tried it a couple of days ago. Went with the dark meat basket take out and was surprised when I opened up the brown bag it's served in that there were two thighs and two legs! That comes with seasoned fries and a dinner roll for under 8 bucks. Now that's a deal! Call ahead of time though and bring cash. read more
