If they did a very bad job I might have to recover or replace an entire sofa - frightening thought. Lucky, I found Silver Isles to be both customer friendly and also competent. I brought the cushion cover in Monday and it was returned Thursday. I did take a picture of the stain just in case. I gave them 4 stars for 2 reasons. First, it was returned folded in half. Thankfully, the counter woman pressed out the fold line and used safety pins to hang it properly. Secondly, the charge of $18 seems high, but I never use dry cleaners so perhaps that's a bargain. I am quite satisfied, but also I was very clear regarding the location of the stain (which was marked by the counter person) and that it was an oil-based stain, which she noted on the ticket. Because of their professionalism I do recommend them and would use them again myself.

Ordinary cleaning, deeply disappointing customer service. Fort Lauderdale store…read more I used this dry cleaner for basic workwear after moving to the area. The cleaning was satisfactory, although I found the prices high. I continued taking my higher-end garments to my longstanding cleaner. My experience with the tailoring service was mixed: the blonde seamstress was kind and capable; I found the other less courteous. The alteration quote was also considerably higher than what my regular tailor in Bal Harbour charges. The evening gentleman deserves recognition. He was consistently polite, helpful, and responsive by phone. Unfortunately, my experiences with the woman usually working mornings were very different. On one occasion, when I asked her to contact the cleaning plant simply to establish when my clothes would be ready, she told me this would incur a $5-per-item rush charge. I clarified that I was requesting information, not expedited service, but she maintained that the charge would apply as they have to spend time looking for my items. After repeated unpleasant interactions, I began visiting only when the gentleman was working. The final incident occurred when I needed to drop off clothing before a work trip. I called repeatedly throughout the afternoon without an answer. When I arrived at approximately 5:55 p.m., shortly before the stated 6 p.m. closing time, the woman was already outside of the store with two other workers. She declined to accept my items, saying she had to be somewhere at 6 p.m. I found her manner dismissive and rude. I subsequently called headquarters. The person who identified himself as the owner said he already knew about the incident and believed she had done nothing wrong. He also disputed my account of the timing. Regardless, my central concern was the attitude: a minute or two either way would not change the fact that the same explanation could have been delivered courteously. Although the owner's tone was polite, I did not feel that my concerns about this incident or the previous interactions received meaningful consideration. We mutually agreed to stop doing business together. I have returned to my longstanding cleaner: the additional 15-minute drive is well worth the consistently courteous service and oustanding cleaning results. For me, the decisive issue was how a regular customer's concerns were handled, first by the employee, then by ownership. Victor Limardo Local Guide·42 reviews·10 photos

When the items were…read morereturned, multiple pieces had clearly shrunk by roughly two sizes and were no longer wearable. These garments fit properly before service and were worn without issue. When I raised the concern, instead of taking responsibility or offering a reasonable resolution, the company dismissed the damage entirely, hid behind "industry standards," and claimed the changes were within "normal tolerances," despite the fact that the garments were materially altered and unusable. What was especially frustrating is that a prior issue with a different garment had already occurred, which they acknowledged at the time by offering compensation as a "courtesy." Now, faced with a much larger and more obvious loss, they refused any accountability. I expected professionalism and care commensurate with handling expensive clothing. Instead, I was met with deflection and a refusal to stand behind their work. I would strongly caution anyone considering bringing valuable or tailored garments here.

Instead of taking responsibility or trying to make things right the manager quickly disrespected me and handled the situation very unprofessionally. I would not trust them with my clothing, especially delicates or expensive items. Total Dry Cleaners had the highest rating south of 595 so I decided to give them a try. The signage is a bit confusing, now as it says "Martinizing." I paused at the door, not sure whether to still drop off my dry cleaning because I did not know if all of the good reviews attached to Total mattered if the store changed. Someone inside saw my pause, and came out to say this is Total. Since they were so enthusiastic, and I was already there, I went ahead and dropped off my cleaning. They were exceptionally nice, accommodating, and quick with their return times. Their prices are also good. I happened to need to pick my items up on June 3rd, when the tropical storm was coming through. They are closed on Sunday, and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get my suits for a business trip. Not to fear, even in the storm they came in and honored store hours saving my day. I would have understood if they were closed, but was extremely thankful they were open. Vica helped me and she is so nice and kind. Total is a bit east of where I live, but for reliable, honest, and friendly service I am happy to have found a place I can count on. They said they cannot change the Total reviews over to Martinizing (and that they are still Total). This is still a bit confusing, but they requested I put the review here and not in a new business. Maybe someone at Yelp can help switch the reviews over.
