The seller, my son, and I worked maybe 2 hours trying to lift the safe using ramps, a dolly, and a motorcycle jack to get it on my trailer, to haul back to Newport News. The seller had to leave for another appointment. After maybe 30 minutes more in the sweltering heat, my son and I decided to call a tow truck company to lift it onto my trailer. Midnight towing was the third or fourth company I called. The first few didn't have a driver available, or didn't have a truck with an old fashion crane on it. After maybe another 20 minutes Wilson came with his flat bed wrecker. I told him right away I'd requested a crane. He replied "We'll make it work one way or another". Sure enough with his air jack he raised it high enough to get on the corner of his flatbed, and set it the trailer. He then nudged it forward of the axle, centered on the trailer. I was expecting to pay $150, but he said $125 would do. He really knows his equipment capabilities. I'd highly recommend him to tow your car, or to deliver a safe for you. She didn't know anything about cars nor did she have anyone local to call. My wife and I live in NY and searched the internet for a towing company, saw some good reviews associated with Midnight Towing, and decided to give them a call which turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Right from the start, Wilson put our minds at ease. He gave us an overview of the area, including hotels, car rentals, and potential auto shops [we went with Master Transmissions who fixed the car in 2 days at a very, very reasonable price but that's a different story]. Warning to anyone broken down in the Petersburg area: do not let AAA send you here…read more The manager drove out to get us after a 15-hour highway breakdown and talked us out of going to our arranged destination by promising they were close to town, had RV parts, could fix our truck, and had a beautiful farm facility. Every single thing he said was false. They looked at our truck in the morning on Saturday, then said it was dead so they'd charge the batteries and be back. They never came back. We ended up stranded at a remote, run-down yard with no transportation, no power, and no way to leave for an entire holiday weekend. No one answered our calls or texts for three days. My son had to ride his dirt bike on the highway just to get gas for our generator. When they came back Monday they charged $899.99 for about two hours of actual diagnostic work, fraudulently double-billed our tow, and physically blocked us from leaving until we paid over $1,149 in full. They argued it was because of the holiday even though they were open Saturday and just didn't come to work on our truck as they promised. They refused to listen when we questioned the massive bill, arguing they were helping us and let us stay there, even though we didn't want to be there and were only stuck there because they'd stranded us and forced us to go there in the first place!
