We have just moved house and having been shopping lot at our local BM
store in Belper. Two weeks we got a letter from parking eye with their
photo evidence saying that as we had stayed longer than 90 minutes in
the car park we were had to pay a £100 fine. It did ask for documentary
evidence to show that were were "legally"parked. So we sent out receipt
that clearly shows from the time stamp that we had been shopping at
BM. we left the car park five minutes after checking out. we sent a
copy of our receipt with a covering letter to PE and presumed that the
matter was closed. However this morning another letter from PE arrived
saying"you have provided evidence of purchase. however please be
advised that this does not meet the discretionary criteria set by the
landowner in this case"
what nonsense. what is this discretionary criteria and dont BM want customers to shop there for over 90 minutes?
The letter then says in order or PE to cancel this parking charge, we
will need valid evidence indicating that you did not break the terms and
conditions stipulated on the signage
what does that drivel mean. we are not paying this. first they ask for a
receipt to prove why were there and then when we have that ask for
further evidence without stipulating what evidence they require.
this is extortion pure and simple. read more
