I would always prefer to shop somewhere less frantic but I keep on going back here. At least it's central and near the bus station.

I particulary like it that they have 6 items on a 49p promotion each week. When it's things like mango, pineapple or grapes you can save loads! I also like there shower gel which is a bargain price of 49p as well. It beats everything other own brand that I've seen for price and the smells are good too! Other things I buy are fresh coffee and coleslaw both good. At Christmas the speciality boxes of chocolate truffles are yummy and better than Thorntons!

Like other supermarkets, Aldi stocks the essential everyday products such as fruit, vegetables, toiletries, meat products and frozen foods along with some more luxurious items which you perhaps wouldn't expect to find. The prices are cheap and the goods non-branded. It can be a bit hit and miss sometimes with what you purchase so I only use it as a top up to my main shop when I'm passing by the area. Prices are kept low by having as few staff as possible, non fancy advertising and packing your own items away from the tills.

Parking is free, but space is tight and it always astonishes me that there aren't more accidents. Sainsbury's reputation for being pricier than the other main supermarket chains is entirely justified as far as I am concerned a weekly shop here always costs me more than it does when I visit Tesco or Asda. Unfortunately, the location is very convenient for me (see above!) The store layout is good and things are rarely moved around, which is a definite plus. The token non-food sections (clothes, toys, books, stationery, audiovisual etc.) are not particularly impressive and personally I'd rather see the space given over to a wider selection of food. The choice and quality of groceries is always good. I like the way I need to walk along the canal tow path to access the store from the city centre. I don't find it to be significantly more expensive than Tesco or Asda. If there's any difference on the price of a weeks shop at all it's only coppers.

Black and white yam cake , shirataki noodles , calpis a fantastic freezer section You could spend all day and a small fortune in here and still leave wanting more . The only drawback is the size , the shop is tiny and if you don't have it to yourself its difficult to move around . Happily it isn't usually very busy .
