I paid a $100 deposit, electronically signed the estimate they sent, and fully disclosed key details before booking, including that the move involved stairs and that the elevator at the destination building was out of service. These details were discussed directly with their representative (Tony) prior to the move date. Despite this, when the movers arrived, they attempted to impose additional charges on site that contradicted what had been discussed and agreed to. When I refused to approve unauthorized charges ($400), the movers left the job site without completing any work and without notifying me that they were leaving. Afterward, the company claimed the move was canceled due to "site conditions" and alleged inappropriate behavior, which was never documented at the time and only raised after I disputed the situation. They later confirmed in writing that they canceled the move and provided no services, yet still refused to refund the $100 deposit. What's most concerning is: * No written change order was provided * No formal cancellation notice was given at the time * No services were rendered * The deposit was kept despite the company canceling the job Instead of taking responsibility, the company shifted explanations multiple times and relied on technical language about estimates and policies after the fact. That was after they decided not to answer my calls and dodge me. This experience was unprofessional, disorganized, and unfair. A moving day is stressful enough, having a company show up, attempt to change the price, and then walk away without notice is unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable or transparent mover.

Moved some things into storage so I could have some free space. They were so nice, worked hard and took care of all of my items, And took the little extra time to make sure everything was secure in their truck. Speaking of their truck - I've never seen a cleaner moving truck and when we were all done after I paid they took the time to organize, fold the moving blankets and remove the tape used on them - it was so organized! warning!!! do not use this company and avoid. i requested a move with this company and went through…read morethe manager who discussed with the owner on a fixed price which he did not honor even after locking it in for more than a week with a deposit. come moving day they came in and went back on the initial agreement and tried to up charge thinking that we would be desperate because we we're vulnerable and needed to move. i spoke with the owner alex who held no remorse and had zero accountability to what took place. he was not willing to even negotiate and just abruptly canceled everything and offered refund of deposit. we followed all policy and procedure and happily obliged to every request to ensure appropriate pricing as well and it took more than a day to lock in the price, so there was more than enough time to fully understand what we were requesting to move. i understand you may be tempted from previous reviews, however, take it from me we were misled. take whatever you see on the reviews with a grain of salt. this company is unprofessional and will leave you high and dry when you need them the most. keep an eye on the movers as they will secretly record video call to the owner so they can up charge and even take their time to accrue more hours on the job so that you'll come out out-of-pocket hundreds more than the initial estimate. you have been thoroughly warned.

I feel very disheartened because I have to leave this review as I have had such great experiences…read morebefore. I currently did a cross state move and Dixie Movers has been such a disappointment. They arrived the day after they were scheduled to arrive (which I paid extra for). After already being late, they then arrived an hour after the new scheduled time. They damaged many of my items including soaking my bed frame in rain water so that it no longer closes flush and ripping apart my artwork. I specifically asked them to pack sensitive items like my record player and telescope assuming they would do a better job than me at protecting them but they just threw them in a box with no padding. The worst offense, however, was that they LOST about HALF of my items. Not only did they not arrive and they do not know where they are but NO ONE has checked to find the items or given me an update on how this will be resolved. When I have called the front office they only tell me that they can't give me timelines or solutions because that is up to management and apparently management is currently off site. There is no direct line to management or a way to contact them. There is not an ounce of urgency on their part to resolve this issue. Absolutely awful experience. I am on stand by and I have no way to know if I need to replace the items or if they'll be found. Over thousands of dollars of items missing, priceless items that are not even sold anymore and are irreplaceable. For double the price of large scale movers, this is 100% not worth it.
