Our 2005 GMC truck broke down on Highway 89 slightly south of the Glen Canyon Dam. Triple A tow truck loaded the truck and dropped us off at B&L. The tow truck driver said this was a family business and reasonable. It was 7:00 and I had to wait an hour before it opened. The man behind the counter was friendly. After several minutes he came back to me and said the alternator was out. The part was available and he could get the truck repaired and should be done in 3-4 hours. We had a photography tour at Canyon X. He suggested a shuttle company to take us out there and he said the truck should be repaired by the time we got back. BEWARE!! Was rude over the phone from the get. Should've trusted our gut before taking it to this guy. We've had a coolant leak and been to several different mechanics all with temp fixes my boyfriend tried explaining this to him before taking it to make sure they'd be willing to thoroughly look at it. Over the phone was not happy or accommodating or wouldn't give my boyfriend any kind of info on what they'd do to do that. Took it. They said it was the reservoir. Less than 48 hours it's doing the same thing and actually my car is overheating now. Something it wasn't doing before. My boyfriend called back to see if we could get our money back since the issue obviously isn't fixed. He hung up on him. So BEWARE!! read more

Just discovered a bolt was broken off our transmission when we had it serviced here 20,000 miles ago. They also used the wrong fluid, says the Mercedes dealer. Disappointing to hear. The transmission hasn't been right ever since. read more

My diesel tow vehicle broke down on a trip to Page AZ last july. I needed somewhere to take my truck for repairs the friday afternoon before the 4th of july weekend started. B&L automotive were willing to take on my vehicle. They weren't able to get to it before the weekend but they let me park my truck in their lot and they told me they would get started on it on tuesday after the 4 day weekend was over. All the other places I called told me they were too busy to look at my truck within a reasonable amount of time. The following week, B&L automotive were able to isolate the issue on my truck and fix it within a few days. I was able to get back on the road and tow my trailer all the way back to washington state with no mechanical issues at all. Oh my goodness! You you ever have ac problems this is the place! We were just starting our vacation on Powell and figured we would have to leave our truck and take care of it when we ended our trip. Clutch stopped working 300 miles from home. AAA referred me to another shop which was too busy to repair for until the following week so the tow truck driver recommended B&L. Owner was honest that he wouldn't be able to look at my vehicle until the next day due to being so busy, but sure enough, the next day he called me back with a quote. The price was reasonable (I Googled it), and the work was complete by the end of the day. Car has had no issues since, and he even offered to give me a ride back from the rental car facility. Recently travelling through the area, and my 2007 GMC Sierra diesel 3500 dually pulling a 26ft trailer lost power outside of Page AZ. It was mid afternoon and calling around to various shops, several of them recommended I contact B&L. Called them, they said bring it in and they would take a look. I was able to limp it to their shop. Chad, the technician, pulled the codes (and not with just a OBD scanner), and everything pointed to a fuel line problem. Replaced the fuel filter and took off again, but only got a few miles along when the same thing happened. Again limped it back to B&L (at 4:45pm), and Chad said he would need to look at the diagnostics more closely in the morning. Mike the manager offered to let us stay outside their shop in the trailer and provided a 30 amp electric hookup. The following morning, more extensive diagnostics didn't reveal a source of the problem. Chad said he had done some research after hours at home, to see if he could come up with a solution. Chad said that GM had changed some diagnostics specs beyond his equipment, and that it would be best to have any further diagnostics done at a GM dealer. There are none close by, the closest being over 100 miles out of the way. He said there were several parts that could be replaced, but couldn't say for sure if that would resolve the issue. He said he just couldn't see throwing money at the problem without knowing the specifics. Chad had taken the truck out several times without the trailer and couldn't duplicate the problem, even going up some of the steep hills around Page. Chad also suggested that I get an OBD2 scanner to plug in and monitor the codes if this happened again, since it seemed to occur with the trailer attached. Picked up one at O'Reilly and on my way. Destination was the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, not a place one wants to have vehicle issues. Able to make it there, with only one situation with codes showing up, and that was going up a long uphill to the top. No loss of power, and reset the OBD Scanner and continued on. This was the first leg of a 2000 mile round trip from Colorado. The rest of the trip was completely uneventful, no issues at all. My speculation? Either the diesel fuel I'd gotten in Page was bad and created the problem, or the replacement of the fuel filter components resolved it. Or a combination of both. After refilling my diesel fuel, no additional problems at all. I can't say enough good things about Chad the technician, or Mike the manager. They were willing to take my truck in late in their day, take a look at it, and then get it in first thing in the following morning. They let us stay there, saving me from having to try to get an RV spot somewhere in town. And Chad was completely honest about wanting to resolve the issue but that due to equipment limitations, couldn't get an accurate resolution. Both are such a wonderful example of what good customer service should be about. Chad went out of his way to try to get this resolved, even researching at home after he was "off the clock". This shows to me that he's a man of integrity and honesty. And in a way, he did actually resolve the issue, since I had no further issues of any consequence for the remainder of the trip, which consisted of driving across northern Arizona and southern Colorado, through high desert and mountain passes. We were headed back after a week long trip at Lake Powell and noticed our trailer tire for our boat was completely shredded. We stopped by a few tire shops on our way out of town and each one said they wouldn't be able to get us in from a few hours to a few days! Called B&L and they said they could get us in right away. The owner was super accommodating and had an employee get right on our tire swap. I have nothing but praise and am very grateful to have been taken care of so well. This was the best customer service I have received in a long time. We were back on our way home in no time. They didn't even charge us for the repair!! This review is 11 months late but I was reminiscing about a trip I made through the southwest and I was passing through Page when I was having car trouble that would have resulted in me being stranded if I didn't get it taken care of... this was between christmas and new year and I drive an old car so they didn't have the part that I needed. It was right before the weekend and they weren't going to be open because it was the holiday so I was about to be left in Page for a couple days until they got the part and opened up after the holiday weekend. But these guys went above and beyond and got the part and came in on their day off during the holiday weekend to replace the part so I can keep the trip moving. We blew a trailer tire and brakes in California on our way to Page on a Saturday night. After calling over 10 automotive roadside assistance services, we found none that could help us until Monday. So we rigged it up to make it to Page. Mike at B and L Automotive got our trailer in right away and fixed the brakes and put new tires on the same day. This service was better than any we can get in Los Angeles and San Diego! The price was so fair and service so quick that we plan to save any car repairs we need for visits that we make to Page for vacations. Writing online reviews isn't really my thing, but I was so impressed with this place I had to. I broke down and was towed to Page on Saturday night and there's not a repair place open in the entire town Sunday. These guys got me in very first thing Monday morning, quickly completed the repairs (did some extra stuff that needed to be done too), and got me back on the road as soon as possible. They could of charged me anything they wanted to fix it, but actually charged me significantly less than the shop back home quoted me for the same repair.
