I've been going to B&K Root beer stand for many years. I like the fast convenient service. The food is delicious and recently they have appeared to update their menu to include even more items. I stick with the classics so I can't review the new items but it's nice to have choices. The root beer stand is just a cute local gem dripping with nostalgia. I've heard that there has been a change in management. I've always loved their food and after a recent visit, I still do. I didn't notice a change in my order. Unfortunately I don't get back very often as I live out of state but if you're looking for a quick tasty reasonably priced summer dinner, try this little stand. First off the charged $5.75 for a footlong Spanish dog with cheese. It was $1.00 for the cheese that was less than .25 worth of cheese. They barely put any sauce on them and the hotdog didn't seem cooked at all. We had to cook them once we got home. Very disappointing. Man, what a bummer. My local friend told me he read this place was voted the best root beer float. I would imagine this can't true based on my recent root beer float. Unbeknownst to me when ordering everything is served take out style. No glass mugs, no trays on the window, The server said this is the new way since the new owners took over. Maybe it's nostalgic for me but root beer floats served in a foam cup are not the same. And to that the 2 scoops of hard ice cream didn't help either. The Spanish(Coney) dog was OK-not great but not bad either. Crinkle cut fries are always a good choice. I cant imagine going to a takeout only style is going it be liked for the majority of customers. It might seem trivial but this recent trip showed me it isn't a model I like. read more

We LOVE this place! The burgers are homemade, not frozen, and the foot longs are also great. They have reintroduced the frosty mugs for the root beer, and the floats are DELICIOUS! All in all a very good place to eat! read more

I have been coming to the B & K Root Beer stand since I was a student at Rimer Grade School, since around 1960. It's been a storied tradition for me, to make the trek when they open int he Spring and then drive from home probably 10 to 15 times during Summer. Sadly, no more. Evidently the stand has been sold, as I didn't see Karen, the curb "girl", who's been waiting on all those years, nor the couple that ran the place. There's a new look, cleaner, new paint, nice servers, but the food was not good. Well, it was okay, just not the "old" recipes. They wrap everything now in fancy foil sleeves, and a box in a bag, but what they call a Spanish Dog is so bland and messy, and the sloppy joe even more tasteless. Probably nice folks trying to put their spin on things, but if they don't go back to the "original" sauces I won't be returning. read more

You don't go to B & K because it's going to blow your mind or because you're looking for some fancy fair. You come here for a tasty Spanish dog, root beer on draft, and the nostalgia. The menu is simple. The root beer is ice cold and in big glass mugs, fries crispy, and if you're up for a float, they've got you covered. The service is friendly and adequate and the food always comes out remarkably fast. We love that they serve you right in your car. If you must, there are a few picnic tables. I always order a Spanish dog with mustard and raw onion, fries, and root beer. I'm a creature of habit, but they're always so good, I feel no need to change. Worst customer service ever ! Tried to bring the family in for some burgers and floats , one of the waitresses told me to move my car to a different spot , i did so then when i did i got out to order then sit on the benches they told me to move again because it was backed in..so with no good explanation why i needed to move a third time i just packed my entire family up and left , i will never return and im not sad cus from what ive heard anyway the kitchen is filthy and i know the food isnt that great to begin with . eat at your own risk !! read more

This is a very dated seasonal Drive Inn (when the weather turns cold they close) that still serves root beer in a heavy glass mug and chili dogs are their specialty. The process is simple drive up and park under the canopy and get out and place your order at the window then go back and sit in your vehicle and they will bring your food out. Nothing fancy here but I like the dogs and the cold glass mugs and I like that it's a little dumpy. It's like going back in time and I don't think there are enough places around anymore that can claim this. Don't think about it too much just try it and enjoy it's a very different experience. read more

The food is alright, but not anything special. However, the fat rude lady in the kitchen is enough to make me not go back. All I asked was for my food to be placed in two separate bags because it was going two separate places and I was in a hurry. It was really a very simple request. She can't be bothered to do something so easy. Or she's too stupid to figure it out. I've been a customer for a very long time, but I'll take my business to someplace that values their customers. Have been here a couple of years ago and the food was good. But...my husband and I stopped to get root beer and a root beer float and wow was I shocked I could swear the root beer in my float was flat Diet Coke and my husband got a quart of what was supposed to be root beer and there was zero carbonation in it and the sweetness leaves ALOT to be desired. read more
