They were on time, checked out the AC, added coolant and then took a quick peek at the furnace. They said both look good for the age (17 years) and should be good for a while. I had questions about rebates for heat pumps and he had answers about rebates, rough costs and advantages of the new heat pumps. He reiterated that we didn't need to change out our current equipment but if we feel it's important for environmental reasons there are good options. We'll definitely be using them going forward, and have a fall furnace checkup scheduled.

Our neighbor suggested we call their guy. He's been in business for 30 years. Needless to say, the heater was not rusted he showed me the unit was very dirty, the fan motor and wheel were clogged with dirt and there were two dead birds in the chimney. The outside air conditioner was only 10 years old. I'm convinced SK had never done anything other than collect their fee and try to sell stuff we didn't want or need.

They were at my house for 2 hours 20 minutes which included time to travel to get parts. I was charged $672 hours for labor. When I called to question this charge, the office manager Carol said it was for two repair men and for both of their travel time as well. They did give me a $75 credit however; I feel this is deceitful practice. Why not be up front with these charges? Because no one would render their services knowing that you are paying for training personnel. I would NOT recommend this plumber.

I called another HVAC co who came out and my electrodes were all burned up and needed replacing and the transformer was in bad shape. The tech told me whoever serviced your heater should have noticed that and repaired it. He also said the paperwork Landis left for their combustion tests are not within the allowable limits and they should not have left the heater like this. On top of all that Landis charged me $236.91.
