My unit was leaking and the coolant used in it is no longer being manufactured (due to environmental reasons) so the only feasible option was to replace it. It had basically been running primarily on the elelectric backup heat this whole time. At least the new unit will be more efficient (rated 16 SEER) versus my old one (rated 10 SEER). The federal minimum nowadays is that all heat pumps need to be rated at least 14 SEER. Replacing the furnace is expensive, but I felt comfortable with Davis Modern throughout the whole process. I met with their sales rep, Jim, who is actually an engineer by trade so he was able to answer all of our technical questions about the equipment. Jim is friendly and easy to talk to, and he didn't try to oversell us any products or services. We decided on a Armana brand rated 16 SEER which came with a 10 year warranty overall and a lifetime warranty on the outdoor compressor. He also presented a 14 SEER model (cheaper) and mentioned more expensive models with higher SEER ratings - but that the 16 SEER model is the most popular and bang for your buck. On the installation day, two technicians came to our house and they worked the whole day from 8 am to 3 pm without stopping for food or water! They were very friendly, professional, and courteous. My electric bill BEFORE the new heat pump was about $400-$600 a month in the winter. I'll update my review after a few months to compare my new electric bill.

Their quote was a good price and they even found a better plan for the install that cost us less money. The install was great; the township inspector actually said it was one of the cleaner installs he'd seen. We love our new heat pump and everything is working great. If we'd stopped there, this would be a five star review. However, they still needed to fix a couple of things, remove our old oil tank and give us the purchase information for the warranty on the system. At that point, all communication stopped. They did not respond to phone calls or texts for several months until, on a hunch, I called them from a different number. One of the owners actually picked up, PRETENDED TO HAVE PHONE PROBLEMS, and hung up on me. At that point, we hired a lawyer. It took more time, but eventually they did make good on their promises. And, to be fair, they didn't ask for the remaining money we owed them but we had to pay the lawyer so financially it was a wash for us. To sum up: install-fabulous, aftercare-absolutely terrible. As it is, I would not recommend Seal the Deal unless they get someone else doing the scheduling.

They were low pressure and presented me with exactly what was best for my place, not their commission. On the day of the install 6 people arrived working on the outside heat pump and the indoor condenser at the same time. They arrived at 8am and were done by 3pm. I live in a condo on the second floor and the AC is located in the ceiling. In spite of all the dirt and debris, the hallway was immaculate. They even wrapped the condenser with two layers of insulation so it would not sweat and damage the ceiling tiles.

I waited a couple days and called their office again and was told they were writing a proposal and I would hear back shortly. I waited another 4 days and called again and got the same reply. So now it has been a week and the manager Chris finally called me back to say they were declining the job and they would refund my $89 estimate fee. No problem there but I really should have been informed at the start that their evaluation would take over a week. Communication is every bit as important as expertise

I had questions about rebates for heat pumps and he had answers about rebates, rough costs and advantages of the new heat pumps. He reiterated that we didn't need to change out our current equipment but if we feel it's important for environmental reasons there are good options. We'll definitely be using them going forward, and have a fall furnace checkup scheduled.

On the first cold day this winter he claims the heater is all rusted out in the exchanger and has to be replaced, along with the entire system because a new heater can't work with an old air conditioner. Our neighbor suggested we call their guy. He's been in business for 30 years. Needless to say, the heater was not rusted he showed me the unit was very dirty, the fan motor and wheel were clogged with dirt and there were two dead birds in the chimney. The outside air conditioner was only 10 years old. I'm convinced SK had never done anything other than collect their fee and try to sell stuff we didn't want or need.

I immediately called the gas company and they came and shut off the gas line. It's the dead of the winter and now I have no heat. I didn't know where to begin. I checked the internet but nothing jumped out at me. I went on yelp and began reading reviews and I ran across Lawrence heating & air. I called spoke to a woman who was very pleasant and told me a tech could come out to assess the boiler to see if it was still usable. Joe came and he looked at it and said it it's a hazard. With all the rust and corrosion and not to mention whatever was on fire. He said it needed replacing. He talked to me about the options and stated I would get an email from the owner of my options. 30 mins later the email was there and everything was included. All the info I needed to know about the unit, specs, warranty, parts/tubing for replacement, price. It was a proposal. I reached out to Lawrence with my questions and he answered right away. I also stated my elderly dad lives with me and elderly need service as soon as possible. That was no problem. He sent me payment options as well. Once I accepted the proposal and date was locked in and they techs came the next day on time. Randy showed up first, then Joe & Chaly. They immediately put down floor draping and loaded all of the supplies , pipes , boiler, etc. They opened all the radiators starting at the top. All of them were pleasant and very Knowledgeable about their job. Any questions I asked Randy explained. They cleaned up behind themselves and made sure everything was put back in place. Once they were done Randy told me about my new unit and what was removed and put in. This company made the entire stressful event so much more easier, like a weight had been lifted.
