Bottom line, Quallet HVAC saved the day. Joe Quallet & his crew was knowledgeable, diligent, on time, fairly priced, kind, courteous, and overall a top notch mom & pop shop! They have earned my families loyalty and as long as we live in their service area and will forever have our business! I am an Architect, developer, & millworker. I have worked with a ton of trades. I constantly work with the good, bad, & ugly; and our following story with our HVAC is a great example of each. So if you want our specifics, it goes as follows.... My wife and I put our whole life and everything we had into the restoration of a Mid-Century Modern in Cheltenham, this past year. We are now 7 month pregnant (with our first) and only have our house about 50% complete, with very limited funds left. Though we cannot bring a baby into this house without HVAC. So after my original installer disappeared half way through the job; I decided to use Fujitsu's website to find a contractor who had taken classes and was a so called "Fujitsu Elite" company. The first company I found played around with us for 2 months, charging us B.S flat rates to walk through the door, and all the while, did not do their Due-Diligence to know that the job could not be completed as promised and then quoted us another un-negotiable $2,600 flat rate for an estimated 1.5 days plus materials (which wouldn't be a problem if that was what it would take), though they had already lost our confidence and wasted in-valuable time & money. We had to move on... We then had two more companies come out to bid. Neither of these "Elite" companies knew that it all wouldn't work without the much bigger job. I ended up calling Fujitsu to do my own Due-Diligence to verify, due to the three varying opinions. Following that, I finally brought out Quallet HVAC. The first thing Joe Quallet said was what I had just confirmed with Fujitsu to a tee and what the other guys didn't know or were confused about. Furthermore, not knowing exactly what it would take, Joe offered an hourly rate to ensure it was fair (and even a slightly discounted one at that, considering our circumstances, which was a very kind and human thing to do). Joe and his crew ended up doing what the other guys had flat rate quoted for 1.5 days, in 1 day; so between that and the discounted rate, we had enough money left over to buy our crib, stroller, and car seat, which was all of the money we have left to our name at the moment. So thank you Joe if you read this! Ultimately you can go wrong hiring these guys! The truth is, big or small, nobody is perfect or is right all of the time. Though I can tell by the type of business that Joe Quallet runs, that they will never do you dirty, and if an accident happens, they will make it right because that is the type of people they are. Which is all you can really ask for... Though the job they did for us did turn out beautifully and went off without a hitch! I am not a complainer or complimentor. In my book you teally need to be dishonest or incompetent; oe on the othe other side exceptional. So do yourself a favor and don't listen to those two inpatient idiots below who gave one star. I promise it will be worth your while to work with a competent, honest and caring company like Quallet. So if you made it this far with my novel, Best of luck with your project!!!! P.S. There is a BIG reason why you should support your local businesses..........Here is mine........ This afternoon 8-4-2016 my wife called and said the AC unit is not working. Immediately my heart dropped. I thought of the worst. We don't have the money to pay for a new AC unit. I Googled AC repairman in my area. Their were about 10 contractors listed. However, their was one name I recognized, and he lived close to my house. QUALLET. IF YOU WERE RAISED IN ROSLYN....... and don't know the Quallet family. I cam tell you from my personal experience that they are a great family. I was lucky enough to grow with a few of them. Joe Quallet is older then me and I never met him before. However, by just knowing the family I called Joe and told him my issue. He said.... I'm on the way home now, I will stop by. I never imagined in my life that he would diagnose the problem and make the repair all within 45 minutes. When I heard Joe say I might have a new conduser on my truck. I started to get excited. It was my pleasure meeting you after all these years. You are a professional at what you do. We live in a very old home with no duct work and had to use window a/c units for cooling. Tired of the inefficiency and noise of the window units we looked into ductless systems as an alternative. We called several companies to get estimates and Joe from Quallet was the only one from any of the companies that took time to measure the rooms to make sure he matched the correct size indoor inverter to the room. He was very knowledgeable about these systems and took time to go over any questions or concerns we had. While not the cheapest OR most expensive estimate, Joe did work with us to reduce the price as much as possible. We ultimately decided to go with Quallet from all of the good reviews we read online. On the 1st day of the install, the first thing Joe did was to go over placement of the indoor inverters to make sure they were exactly where we wanted them. They worked very quickly and got all five indoor inverters hung and both condensers placed on the first day. The 2nd day was running the line sets and making the hook ups. They did an excellent job of covering all the line sets running down the side of the house! Joe and his crew were very professional and did a great job. I would highly recommend them to anyone. A couple of years ago we had Joe Quallet install two Fujitsu mini-split systems in our house to augment heating and cooling in an old house where we got almost no service from the main heater (and had window a/c). His advice on sizing and brands was perfect, the installation was neat and professional, his price was spot on and he answered a few follow up questions promptly. When we moved the first person we called when getting setup in our new house was Joe. The house did not have any central AC so we had Joe install a new system. The price and service were both excellent. We again called Joe when we wanted to augment our bedroom with a mini split (instead of running a single zone central AC all night or heating the entire house in the winter). He ending up coming out on one of the hottest days of the summer to install our new split system and it's run like a champ ever since (and cut our electric bill pretty drastically since we no longer run a window unit and can shut down the main central AC at night). I am not a customer who ever writes reviews but in this case I felt I absolutely must. Last October during a very bad cold snap, my heater died. I put in three calls to various companies. Quallet was the first to reply. I spoke with Joe but still had the other two companies come out to give me their product information. Quallet hands down beat out the other companies. They offered a good product at an excellent price. Quallet installed the heater and air-conditioning unit in a timely and professional manner. They told me to call in the spring for an air-conditioning check-up before I used it. I called last week and Joe gave me a time for the following week. The weather changed quickly this week to being very hot and humid. Joe called me to move the AC check up so that my husband and I would not be uncomfortable. Joe and his worker were just here. They arrived on time. They quickly did a check of the AC system to make sure everything was up and running smoothly. They also rechecked my heating system for me too. I can't praise them enough. Joe installed a heater & AC in my home 8 or 9 years ago right after I purchased it. He did a great job at a very fair price (I had a number of estimates - his was not the lowest, but he came across as someone I could trust) His bill came in right on target, the unit was more than I expected and has kept us comfortable with no problems! I had a rental unit that had a boiler quit during the winter & Joe was out in a flash and took care of the problem, so when I bought a new property this past January that had oil heat, Joe took care of removing it and installing a new furnace and central unit, again at a very fair price. Came out quickly for an estimate when we were in a tight spot for our new house that we were buying. He was able to get the heater done that same weekend in time to pass an inspection. He even took the extra effort to install a chimney liner so as to avoid being pegged for that when reinspected. The work was extremely professional and done in a timely manner. We had the chance to use our new heater this week and have to say it does a wonderful job. Joe has been servicing my mother's HVAC system for years with the highest professional service. Recently she had a stroke and had to move in with me. While her house was for sale and unoccupied, Joe noticed the sump pump running when it shouldn't have been while out walking his dog. He called both me and the realtor. The realtor promptly came over and let Joe in to find the water heater leaking water all over the basement. Joe shut the water off and within 2 days had the water heater and pipes replaced and updated and even cleaned up the water mess! Joe, MJ & Tim were great! My central air system and heating was about 20 years old in the new house I bought in February... come Summer and the central AC didn't work! Joe came out(when no one else would give me an appointment for 2 weeks at a minimum) and checked it out, leaking Freon, motor was over heating and just very old... he gave me a great price to replace the whole system and replaced all the bad pipe work done by a previous company, from initial assessment to install date only took 1 weeks time!!! ...I would highly recommend them. I can't say enough good things about Joe. My parents AC went out over the Memorial Day weekend. I left him a call at 9pm on Saturday and he promptly responded with a text. He showed up the next morning and got their HVAC back up and working in about an hour. He told as that it's an older HVAC unit and it'll need to be replaced sooner rather than later. He then offered a quote that was significantly below what other vendors have quoted. We didn't know who to trust when we moved to a new area regarding our HVAC. Our heater wasn't working properly and when we called Horizon they told us we needed a whole new heater.
