B&E replaced our 60+ year old roof (that didn't leak) seven years ago and it began leaking into our living room. It leaked for quite a while before we noticed, which we discovered from reputable roofers is common, especially since it had been leaking over our porch not into our house at first.They came twice and said it was fixed but it STILL leaks into our living room. We now have buckets in our attic. Your roof might look good at first but pay attention to their warranty and follow up. Buyer beware. Wish I could give less than one star : ( read more

This is the best company I have dealt with, roofing or otherwise. First of all, they traveled a long distance to do our roof. Amos did our estimate and was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I had gotten about 5 estimates and their price was in the middle of the range of prices. There materials however were top notch with regards to shingles, ridge vent, felt paper, etc. They were the only quote that offered 30 year architectural shingles. Based on all of the above, we decided to award them the contract. When they arrived to do the work, they had a crew of 5 including the foreman. They were polite, professional and a pleasure to deal with. Our roof is a very large roof for a residential home and they had to remove two layers of shingles that the previous owner had put on 25 years ago. It rained in the morning and that postponed them starting the work until the afternoon. As soon as it stopped, they got to work tearing off the old shingles. They used a motorized cart on a scissor lift to catch the debris from the roof so there was nothing falling on the shrubs and foundation planting. When it was full they would drive it to the dumpster and emptied it out. This was a great idea and it enabled them to keep the yard clean as well as sped up removal of debris. Once half of the front of the house was cleared of old shingles and paper, they had blown off all debris and started laying felt paper. Before I knew it they were putting on the new shingles on one side of the house and removing old shingles from the other. There was morning, then evening and the front of the house was completely done, day one. Day two began at 7:00am and they started tearing down the back off the house. They used the same method of tearing down half the back end and putting on the new like a carefully choreographed dance. By the end of the day the shingles were on, drip edge was flawless, boards were cut and ridge venting was done. The flashing for vent pipes and two chimneys was done. Yard was cleaned of all nails, driveway, walk, patio was blown clean. All this with smiling faces and not one word of profanity. Definitely would recommend them for roofing and really any roof related work like gutters,leaf guards, repair, etc. read more

Amos called me back and we discussed my roof issues. It is most likely a small repair but we are listing our house and needed it done. He was very positive over the phone and even offered to come out and look at the same day. We agreed on a meeting. I was to wait for his call. He never bothered to call me back. Not only that, he wanted to originally charge $85 just to look at it. Be prepared to pay for an estimate. Also be prepared to never hear back from them! Not good business practices! read more

Incredible people! They came with 5 or 6 guys and did the work in one day. Expert and professional workmanship. Had some rot on the roof over the back deck. They cut out the bad section, rebuilt the soffit and put on new sheathing. You'd think that work would cost over $500 extra. Only charged $100! And their cleanup was excellent. They went over lawn with a huge magnet to grab stray nails. Highly recommended. BTW, they are no longer in Gap. They are over near Eden Road. read more

While most of my reviews are for restaurants, I feel I have to post one for the excellent roofing work we had done by B & E. If you are considering a project of this scope, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't contact these guys. Every aspect of the process from quoting to final cleanup was executed perfectly. Most importantly to us, the crew that performed the work conducted themselves in a manner that is rarely found nowadays: a coordinated team effort where no one did anything unbecoming of a trained professional. The crew removed and installed 44 squares in just a little over 2 days. Except for the new roof, you can't tell they were even here. We experienced nothing that would even remotely make us advise you to look at other contractors. Do yourself a favor and call these guys first! read more

They replaced my roof 3 years ago and did an amazing job. Amos is a real pro. The best part of their work is their craftsmanship and how cleanly they demoed the old roof. They did not leave a single nail or splintered shingle anywhere around the property. I recommend them constantly! The person who gave them a one star review sounds annoying. read more

They had done a number of new roofs in our neighborhood ("Ashbridge" in Downingtown, off Peck Road), so we were excited when we got a really competitive estimate. Well, you get what you pay for. After multiple re-scheduling conflicts, they finally did the roof. They had forgotten the gutters and downspouts after i called a week later to remind them ! Well, the first leaks in the main house happened within a couple of weeks. After two visits (never being able to determine where the leaks came from), i recommend they look at the through-roof attic fan. Must have been it bc it didnt leak after that (strange that i tell the roofer where the leak was coming from). Next, it was the screened-in porch. We have 2 skylights, which are from the late 80's but never leaked and still looked good. They tried to sell us on replacing the skylights at $1200 ea. No reason to replace, right ? Well, after the new roof went on the porch, the skylights began to leak. Amos came back 4 times but never could find the reason for the leak. Did i say the skylights NEVER leaked before ? They didnt. I refused to ask him back and will be getting another roofer to look at the porch. So, in the latest heat wave i went into the attic because the second floor seemed really warm. Well, wouldnt you know: the through-roof attic fan isnt working at all! Now i'll need to get an electrician here to see the problem. My recommendation is STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY !! read more

If you are looking for a new roof, please give serious consideration to B&E Roofing. You will not be disappointed. Prior to calling B&E Roofing, I had an estimate from a major roofing/repair company. I was told there was a leak in the roof and that I needed new gutters. I decided to get a second opinion and I am happy that I did. Amos found the gutters to be fine and no leaks. The foreman and crew were first class tradesman. Not only were they knowledgeable, polite, professional, and easy to work with, they used no profanity. Always had a smile when talking with me. They did an excellent job on the roof!!! Terrible to deal with. Lied to me . Called me the "pickest"customer in 20 years. Promised me it would be done in one day. Took 2 days.( they had to leave early to advertise at the new Holland fair. Amos came out to do an estimate. He knew we had a fence around our yard and would be unable to get the roofing buggy back there. So my deck was covered in shingles and nails. It looked like a picture in their hand out of what your yard would not look like. ( i have 12 week old puppy that eats everything)They broke a step on my deck. they fixed because they said they where doing me a favor. The sky lights they installed are the wrong size. Amos measured the old ones when he did the estimate. Then claimed that it was a custom size.( why he was 2000 cheaper then the other guys) He knew all along it wasnt going to fit. when they installed the sky lights they flushed the mess that came into my house down the toilet. Lets just say Im not very happy. They are not anything close to what the advertise to be. Lastly they put a yard sign in my yard right when they pulled up. They never asked. read more

My wife and I have been looking around for roofing company's for about a week, we were told by two of are friends about B&E Roofing. Amos stopped out for a estimate and to explain products and up grades. He was more then pleasant to work with and very helpfull. We even got four other quotes from other company's that did not come close to B&E quote. So we went B&E and we were very happy with their crew and their foreman. We did a 50 year roof and a top of the line ridge vent and felt paper. We used the HD architectural shingle. They gave great literature to help with roofing decisions. The crew worked none stop for two long days to knock out 3,800 sqft. They did outstanding job with workmanship, and care of landscaping, and clean up, even on the second day when it got dark. They made sure to run the magnitized wheel over yard and flower beds twice. They even blowed out gutters. The four works were vary kind and vary respectfull.
