Being a contractor, myself, I know a lot of roofers and roofing companies. I've seen it all when it…read morecomes to roofing over my last four decades in the trades and being a homeowner of several homes for the last three decades. I've had several roofs repaired and replaced over the years. I've been happy with most of these, but none compare to the roof replacement I just got from J&E Contracting. Most people don't know what goes into replacing a roof properly, and how many corners can be cut to reduce the cost to the contractor. So many corners can be cut that any intelligent person would never know about. J&E does not cut corners. Many roofing contractors choose to use cheap and inferior materials beneath the shingles because nobody knows the difference. J&E uses the best of everything because they do know the difference and they want to deliver nothing but the best to their customers. They remove all of the old tar/felt paper and inspect the entire roof, looking for defects and bad plywood that they will repair before covering it up -- not all roofing contractors do this. They take pride in their work. Another thing many people don't consider is how well their property, lawn, flowers and other plants will be treated and protected by a roofer, and how well they will clean up before they hand you a bill. I got home from work around 3:30pm, and they were already gone. I would never have even known they were at my home if not for the beautiful, professionally installed, brand new roof. J&E Contracting went above and beyond my expectations of any roofing contractor at an extremely reasonable price. I highly recommend them to anybody needing any type of roof work

I have a handicap because of 2 bad knees that need knee replacements which I told them about. I asked them to keep the steps clear. As you can see by the pictures they did not. They left the gutters filled with roofing nails which spilled onto the ground every time it rained I had to replace two tires at a cost of over $200 a piece because of the roofing nails. They blocked all entrances and exits so I could not get to doctor appts and my daughter could not get out to get to school. They didn't cover anything so debris was all over all of my belongings in the garage and finished attic and debris dust came in the house through the windows and coated everything. These guys were arrogant, rude, unprofessional and did not clean up completely. Left nails and debris all over the yard and in the gardens. I would not recommend them at all. Two years after purchasing out home, we learned that we had to relocate to Florida for work. We knew people would fall in love with the house as much as we did and that it would be a quick sale. Boy, very wrong. The offers came in quickly however, the sale did not. I sit here writing this review a year from the time we initially listed our home. Our prospective buyers inspection repair list came in at a whooping $100,000 and included a request to complete an exterior remediation because they suspected the stucco remediation competed just two years prior was not done correctly. We refused to fix because there was no evidence there was an issue - it was just done and we hadn't had any issues! But because we were selling and wanted to do the right thing, we reached out to an architectural firm and got their opinion. Unfortunately, the bad news came back that we truly did have an issue and we would need to start the journey to remove the NEW siding and replace it, along with all 43 windows and a couple of doors. We reached out to the contractor who originally completed the work. Given the concerns, there was clearly an issue with the workmanship and it should be corrected. The contractor declined to come look at the home and started blaming the previous owners who contracted him for the job. After several weeks of back and forth trying to get the story straight, we knew we had to move on and try and find a reputable company to help with complete the repairs. I reached out to at least 5 different contractors to try and fix the problem. I would either get proposals for a bandaid fix because they knew we were selling the home or not get in contact with them at all after calling multiple times and leaving messages. This was also in the mist of the COVID-19 pandemic so contractors were busy and materials were starting to be scarce. It was a total nightmare. Thankfully I made a call to Glick's exteriors and Sam came out right away to assess the situation. Sam was able to identify the flashing issues and got to work. We had a variety of options to choose from with Certainteed and he did some hunting around to find quality windows and sliding glass doors within our budget. We replaced the lower tier siding with siding in modern colors that did the home justice. During the project, there were flashing issues identified with the hardscaping, we opted to fix the issues and the crew was also skilled to remove complete the job so we didn't have to hire another contractor and project manage schedules. Our home looks better now than the day we bought it people compliment us all the time on how it looks. Aside from the esthetic, the new windows now make it more energy efficient. It is like a 100 pound weight off our shoulders! The workmanship is beautiful. The crews are super professional; they arrive early, stay all day, show respect for our home and neighbors, and leave a small footprint. Sam, Scott and Chris are more than competent to handle stucco remediation and apparently failed remediations; they also don't try to sell you on repairs you don't need. Sam is a person of action - you call him, he calls you right back. You have a question or concern, he takes care of it right away. He made it as painless as possible, and is a very honest and humble guy to work with. I wholeheartedly recommend Glick's Exteriors!
