I figured a short drive for him would result in a slight savings for me. I asked him for an estimate over the phone but he insisted on coming over?!?!?! So I met up with him and he gets 5 stars for being timely. The estimator began to COMPLAIN to me about the difficulty of the job and the manpower required to complete such a task. He exclaimed a minimum of 2 men are required and it will take all day! REALLY? His estimate to CLEAN the debris from the roof gutters (3 sides) came to $750! REALLY? Honest business here? I then asked him what it would cost to clean my next door neighbor's roof gutters so that I can capitalize of some economies of scale here. The estimator then lowered his price to $450/house. REALLY? To make a long story short, I went with a STATEN ISLAND guy that gave me quote over the phone after sending in my house pic and he quoted me $175/house!!!! Why are manual laborers like this so dishonest? Whatever happened to honest day's work? Whatever happened to one's honesty? So much for religion, diversity, equity and inclusion?!?!?!? It seems like the local laborer charges for DEI and religion. No thank you.

Our old family home on Prospect Avenue--right between Windsor Terrace and South Slope--is turning…read more100 soon, so yeah, the outside really needed some love. I'm an architect and my wife's an engineer, so we went deep into the search for a Brooklyn roofing contractor. Not as easy as you'd think: most companies chase bigger commercial gigs, and finding someone solid who actually cares about residential work took some digging. We ended up hiring NY Roofing. They handled everything--ripped out the rotted wood decking, added DensDeck recovery board so we're set up for a future rooftop solar setup, laid down a cold process SBS modified bitumen roof, reinforced every detail with liquid flashing, and hooked us up with a heavy-duty 6K commercial gutter system to finally fix the drainage mess. The crew finished the whole job in just two working days, right on schedule. They kept the site spotless and really watched out for our property and our neighbors--super considerate. Honestly, their professionalism, speed, and workmanship blew us away. If you need reliable roofing or waterproofing help in Brooklyn, I'd recommend NY Roofing without hesitation.

My flat roof had been patched by other contractors before and kept leaking every time we got heavy rain. A neighbor on my block recommended NY Roofing and I finally feel like I found the right company. They came out fast, did a proper inspection, and actually diagnosed where the water was getting in instead of just throwing another patch on it. The crew replaced the membrane, redid the flashing along the parapet wall, and sealed everything properly. Work was clean, they protected the interior access points, and finished on schedule. Been through a full rain season since with zero issues. NY Roofing knows Brooklyn roofs and they do the job right. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend avoiding this company especially on attached houses! Can't trust their work nor…read moretheir word! The owner Chris is dishonest and dishonorable man. After receiving a quote, hired this company to replace an existing roof to remove old shingles to the plywood, replace any damaged plywood basically to completely install a new roof for me and my neighbor on August 13, 2025. January 23, 2026 evening, I noticed leaks on the walls and spots on the ceiling in my bedroom. Next day, I notified Chris that there is an issue with the roof leaking. Due to the weather condition and freezing temperatures the roof couldn't be attended right away. On January 27 I wrote to Chris that my neighbor, who's roof his company also replaced, has similar issues. I also let him know that after I inspected the roof there was absolutely no protection to the edge like a drip edge to protect snow or rain from going under the roof soffit and damaging the walls and the ceiling. To this, Chris responded that his company does not use drip edge they leave 2" over hang. Chris blamed weather conditions, snow, ice and wind instead of taking responsibility for the improper job his workers performed, even though I mentioned numerous times that the wall had water damage before the snow storm. Also, Chris blamed on a framing and plywood was done incorrectly but in my opinion that should have been addressed when his workers completely tore down the roof. He didn't want to hear about the fact that I had no leaks prior his guys doing the roof and none of the neighbors had an issues except me and the neighbor who's roof Chris also replaced. On February 20, I noticed water bubbles that were running down the walls between me and my other neighbor who's roof was not replaced. On February 21, Chris's workers came to put some flushing cement between me and the neighbor where the roof opened up and water completely ruined my bedroom walls. This forced me to take down the sheetrock because it was completely wet and when I opened the walls, beams already had mold on them. Until this day, every time it rains, I get sips of water coming in through the roof and I can see water running on the beams. Chris's workers also installed some sort of drip edge that another roofer who came to inspect the roof laughed at and said no respected roofer would do something like this. Photos attached. Chris reassured me numerous times that he would take care of everything. After a different roofer and other contractor inspected my roof, they said my roof is done incorrectly and they won't even take on the job to fix it so it would not leak without removing and installing a new roof completely. After mentioning to Chris that I don't want to take a chance for quick fixes and want to redo my roof or get my money back so I can hire someone else he went completely mad, started to threaten me and even wished I would die. In my opinion, this is a sick individual that I wish I never hired. Now I have to redo my roof, file complains with DCWP, Home Improvement Contractor Trust Fund and file a lawsuit. Please don't make my mistake and avoid Chris and his company at all cost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The lies continue in the company's response to my initial review. My house was built in 1989 (easy to look up) in text messages, (that I have saved) you said it's 60 years old, now he says the house is 50 but it's simple math that does not equate. According Google, New York City Building Code, New York State Residential Code (R905.2.8.5), International Residential Code, (screen shots attached) and other licensed roofers confirmed that it's mandatory, a drip edge is required on all, including attached houses, so hopefully who ever will read this review will also do research and catch the lies. The company replied "Your property has a larger-than- average gap between the fascia and the plywood decking- a condition" like I mentioned in my initial review, it should have been addressed when my roof was completely off! Just to point out the aftermath excuses shows how professional this company and its workers are! Regarding what they call suspicion that I opened up the wall that's another lie, it doesn't make sense. First of all you can see on photos that walls got water damage from both corners of the room and in the middle by the window curtains, as well as water damages on the ceiling in multiple spots. I opened up the wall and ceiling because beams where already getting mold on them. I don't know how others live but I will not promote mold living and spreading in my house. If I was intending to pressure this business into anything than why would I spend money out of my pocket again to replace a roof again. In regards of the guaranty, I don't trust this business or the warranty doing any more work on my roof.
