So happy they finally opened in Glendale!

Love Bunda Gym! The workouts are challenging in a good way and super Fun... You use the StairMaster plus personalized individual weights for arms, legs, glutes, abs, and your whole body! I love how there's different weights to choose from depending on your fitness level. Plus, I also love using the sandbags to add weight while you do the hip bridges. Every class leaves me feeling stronger and more energized than ever! The instructors are motivating and the vibe is always positive. It's perfect for anyone looking to tone and push themselves! Come and Bunda it out!

I was recommended this gym by a friend, I started my fitness journey earlier this year…read more Unfortunately I deal with mild anxiety and using big machines is kind of intimidating at other gyms. I decided to come and check it out, I was also looking for personal training just to get the guidance that I so desperately need. I had my assessment with Miguel, and man this guy made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. Throughout the entire hour I spent with him, there was not one moment I felt self-conscious or judged, I felt right at home and it was because of his disposition. He found ways to relate to my personal experience, he managed to make me come out of my shell (which is not a very easy thing to do). By the end of the assessment I knew this would be my new home gym, I needed to become a member AND I needed to sign up for personal training with him of course. I am now a proud member of LM Fitness, I cannot wait to continue to work with Miguel and all the amazing people I have met so far. I have been at this location twice now and every single time the vibe just feels right, I cannot wait to experience this little family they have created.

I started working out at Lift two months ago, and I absolutely love it…read more The workouts are effective and efficient, and, if you're a nerd like me, it's interesting to hear Dirk and Chenell talk about how the movements strengthen different muscle groups. They're always nearby to make sure my form is correct, and they never lose patience when I ask them to remind me how to do certain moves. Speaking of supervision, I went to Lift today for the first time in about a week and a half, and I told Chenell that I've been experiencing some pain in my left shoulder. She sent Dirk outside to talk to me about it, and after I described my symptoms, he re-wrote part of my workout and continued to check in to make sure I wasn't in any pain. I felt super safe and respected, and there was ZERO pressure for me to push through any discomfort. Hiiiighly recommend this place!

I've heard him say verbatim to a woman next to me, " that's because you're stupid". Another time " yeah, you're an idiot". He's demeaned me many times. I just accepted it as part of The Lift Silverlake Experience. One day I came in and said "nice new shirt and it looks fancy and you look nice.. which he replied to me "what about you? You look like you just rolled out of bed and put on dirty clothes". Which is hilarious because I was fresh out of the shower with fresh clean clothes.. I always showered before my workout because Dirk likes to make fun of people who smell. I was giving him a compliment but he doesn't know how to take it, so he spews hate. After that interaction he banned me from his paid social club. I said nothing except what I mentioned above and when questioned why I was banned, they simply said they didn't want to talk about it. I attached Dirk's email banning me so you can see that obviously I was a very good client and they never had issues in the past. I was never late. I never missed a session. I never acted inappropriately ever.. I spent over $6,000 dollars training with them. Dirk is a very troubled person and I hope he finds help for his mental issues. I wish everyone at Lift Silverlake the best and it would be a beautiful place without Dirk there with all his hate and spite. God bless and always sending prayers for peace, comfort and grace. Dirk and Chenell... People are paying you for a service. Not to be put down, bullied or traumatized. It's not just bad business, you're messing with peoples' lives, their goals and their ambitions. Please stop crushing people's passion for exercise. Lastly, he doesn't allow black people at the gym. He prefers white women and beta white men. If you don't get contacted back by them it's because they profiled your age, sex, and/or race with their interview process and didn't like you..

I genuinely like this gym. The staff is great, the atmosphere is good, and I enjoy working out…read morehere. That's exactly why it's so frustrating to see a gym marketed as a premium facility have this many ongoing maintenance and management issues. The steam room has been out of service what feels like every other week. It appears to finally be fixed now, but given the history, we'll see how long that lasts. Several lockers have damaged or detached hinges that can literally snag, cut, or leave grease on your clothes when you hang things inside. Gym equipment breaks and can stay broken for weeks, sometimes close to a month. Whenever these issues are brought to management, the response is almost always some version of, "We're aware of it, we're waiting on corporate." At some point, that stops being an explanation. The back extension machine was also moved into the middle of the gym, where it now seems to get no use. When members complained, we were told its previous location was a fire hazard. That explanation is difficult to take seriously. The room has three exits, and the machine was not obstructing an exit path. I'm familiar enough with fire-code requirements to know that simply calling something a "fire hazard" doesn't make the explanation convincing. Parking deserves its own paragraph. The system constantly has problems. Gates malfunction, sections occasionally close, and the payment machines sometimes refuse to read credit cards. Getting stuck trying to leave a parking structure after a workout because the equipment doesn't work is ridiculous. But the biggest issue is the air conditioning. For a significant part of the summer, the AC was barely functioning. I'm writing this review while sitting inside the gym right now. There are probably around 30 people here, and the temperature easily feels above 80°F with almost no airflow. That is not an exaggeration. In a facility where people are exercising intensely, proper ventilation and temperature control should be one of the most basic operational requirements. None of these complaints are about the staff. I actually like the employees here, and that's part of the reason I continue coming. The problem appears to be maintenance, facility management, and/or corporate support. A premium gym should not routinely have broken machines, damaged lockers, unreliable parking equipment, steam-room failures, and most importantly inadequate air conditioning. Members are paying premium prices. The facility should be maintained to a premium standard. Management already seems to be "aware" of most of these problems. What we need at this point isn't another acknowledgment. We need them fixed.

April 25, 2024 Providing an update to my previous review…read more In the six months that have elapsed, I had forgotten that the staff person who eventually helped me cancel my membership had assured me that he would refund me for the month of November as I had not been in the gym for some time. I appreciated the gesture but was not too confident that he would take care of it. Well, after being notified this week of another Yelp user's reaction to my review, I recalled that promise to refund my monthly charge from November'23. I decided to call the site and amazingly the person who picked up the phone was perfectly polite and professional. In fact, after just a few seconds I realized that I recalled her (from her unforgettable and distinct voice) as the original person who toured with me when I initially started at the gym. She was great, within five minutes I had received a call back from her exactly as she promised and informed me that the refund would be processed within a few days. Today I received confirmation that yes, she and Anytime (ABC) had refunded my credit card. I can't imagine why it took the business owner months to reply to my initial Yelp review, but I can truly say that I hope he sees the extraordinary way that one customer service representative can impact a client's views. The person who helped (and toured) me is STEPHANIE - please appreciate that gem that you have there. She made all the difference and because of her quality handling of my account, I am open to rejoining once I return to Glendale later this year.

It is obvious, I just kept giving the gym excuses. Men dominate the machines, and certainly don't make women feel comfortable to be there. Many times I have seen the poor conditions of the bathroom, and reported them. Mostly beard hair clippings, never cleaned up. All over the sinks. Today I was bullied off of a machine, and complained to the only (male) staff member. They said "there's nothing I can do" Good to know! I will never return to this location. Thankfully there are other locations near me. This location is deeply troubling. I would never recommend this location to another woman. Or anyone, really. Machines are broken for years, never to be repaired. It's so lame.

As for instructor recs, there's been a lot of turn over since my last review, so here's the sitch- - Leah's still the best yoga instructor I've ever had. I leave every class feeling a million times better than when I entered - Jesse's strength classes are probably the most challenging I've ever taken, but they're also the most fun. Come for the ass-kicking and stay for the utter nonsense of his themed playlists & dad jokes - Alyssa's strength classes will make you feel like a badass. They're super empowering and also very informative, which I love. And her music is awesome. The maintenance of their facilities has gone downhill at WARP speed. By cutting corners on maintenance staffing and shifts and leaving their broken equipment is states of disrepair for weeks on end, they are showing the clientele the complete disregard they have for their gym experience and satisfaction. The absolute IRONY of their corporate poster at the entrance bragging about the money spent on upgrades (basically repainting the locations with their new color palette) while the state of the gym is being neglected and run into the ground is not lost on me. Please see the photos below of just some of the issues/failures I witnessed yesterday. If I had done a complete walk through, there would be a lot more. Management needs to address this immediately and if "their hands are tied"then I'll take it to corporate. This is a disgrace to the reputation that Gold's built and EoS should be ashamed of their low standard of care for their customer's gym experience.
