This is no doubt the best food I had all vacation. The service was extraordinary and the food was perfect. The owner is one of the most humble and kind individuals I have ever met. He sat down with my family and I and talked to us for about five minutes while we were waiting for our food. We became good friends and came back numerous times later in our vacation. Great Mexican! The service was very friendly and inviting. All of our dinners were very tasty and had a lot of flavor. Their cocktails were excellent we had several during the night. Their drinks are not lacking any alcohol . Try the margaritas! I had the pollo con crema and it was delicious. Others in my party had the chimichangas and the steak carnitas. No one was displeased. My partner and I have eaten here many times and it is one of our favorites. It is basically a small, homey, neighborhood eatery in a very small town. If you want more uptown go pay the prices in Portland or Bend. This establishment is clean, welcoming and the staff works hard to please you. They've added several items to their menu recently and I have fallen for the Azul Enchiladas (I'm a huge fan of green sauce rather than spicier red). We've always been pleased (love it when weather is good enough to eat outside) and will continue to frequent. The ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars is that the inside is small and tight. Doesn't bother us two but you might consider something else if your kids wish to run wild. read more

Went in today for early dinner, was not crowded at which was good, but Waldport rarely is on a weekday in the fall. Found the service to be good, but food was bland, and quite tasteless. Heard good things, and I live in Waldport. Would not be on the top of my list to take friends from outta town. Reminded me of food from old folks home. read more

On a recent trip to the Oregon Coast we stopped in at Azul for lunch. We love our Mexican food and relying on the positive reviews from Yelpers and the recommendation from a local mechanic we stopped in at Azul. It was a great experience from the fresh and delicious food to the friendly and outstanding service from the staff. We were fortunate to have Taylor serving us at the bar. I love this little place. We come here every time we are here visiting family. The chips and salsa are great. One salsa is spicy and one not so much. I had the enchilada and tamale combo at lunch. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant very clean. The prices were fair and the portions not stingy. First a basket of crisp, warm tortilla chips which were very good, but the 'salsa' was tasteless red water. I ordered the taco salad with chunked up beef. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, but not well drained, causing the 'shell' to disintegrate on the bottom and lower sides. The beef was on the bland side, but there was a lot of it! A very small sprinkle of shredded [and I suspect bagged] cheese on top. The salad needed 'something', so I ordered a side of salad dressing: didn't help. So I asked for a side of pinto beans--the crowning disappointment. A small bowl of grey lumps without any flavor whatsoever--it didn't even smell like beans--I tried adding a bit of salt and some of the salsa water, but nothing helped. This was not my first visit to this restaurant, and I'm sorry to only give it two stars, but unfortunately for me, the negatives outweighed the positives. read more

A group of 8 (6 adults/2 kids) had a great meal here while on vacation in Waldport. Very attentive wait staff and comfortable atmosphere. The salsa and chips was terrific and the food equally so. Chili verde came with tons of pork and a perfectly spiced green sauce. The Mole was very chocolaty and spiced well. Very clean dining room and restrooms. We feel fortunate tonhave found this place with such great food, friendly atmosphere and very fair prices. read more

Okay....what the heck did I just eat? I feel bad giving a bad review but the food was horrible. So far from authentic. The salsa, mole, and guac were strangely inedible. The beans tastes like paste and the rice was tasteless. I thought the girls that work here are extremely sweet and as much as I feel bad about making this review maybe it will make them better? Passing through on vacation. Found Azul probably the best restaurant in town. Wife had the seafood burrito and loved it. Large pieces of scallops, shrimp etc. I had a classic combo meal with excellent chilli rellenos. Oh, the margaritas were excellent! Just happened to notice the windows and window sills were spotless. I have been working in and traveling through Waldport for many years, the town was never known for top notch eating out places. Never knew about this place till a few days ago. Azul is good in almost every category; service, atmosphere, food quality and quantity. We came in with a group of ten and the staff was not fazed, very attentive, food came in a short time (but not microwave short) and drinks were good although would not say it was a great margarita. Family atmosphere but the place is not on the hwy 101 commercial strip so you have to make a little effort to find it. All in our group agreed we will return. Would make the rating 4 1/2 stars if I could. read more

my family has been to rhis restaurant on multiple occasions and have had good experiences but after what happend tonight we will bot be returning. our waitress was absolutely awful. my mother in law and my daughter both ordered taco salads and my mother in law wanted a cheese enchilada on the side. our waitress came out with 1 taco salad and two chicken enchilada meals with beans and rice and asked if we wanted our other taco salad in a inside of a taco bowl too. she compleatly screwed up our order. so she took back the two chicken enchiladas and brought out one cheese enchalada meal... we told her again that we didnt want the meal she just wanted a side... and they covered her enchalada in teriyaki sauce. NOat mole like she had askes foe just to screw with here. it was coverd in sesame seeds and absolutely disgusting. then after all of this she got stuck with a vill for three meals that she did not even want or ask for in the first place. the waitress was very OBVIOUSLY on drugs and couldnt comprehend anything that we were saying to her. it was like talking to a damn fence post. we normally are very easy going people but this was just awful service and awful communication skills. we will never be going back and will be putting in a formal complaint with the owner. read more

Sunday dinner spot for great food loved the Arroz with shrimp and hubby had scallop mexicana......Glad we had the server we did.. Can't remember her name ,it was different, but She has blonde hair and wore it pinned up.. As far as other floor staff well...The girl bussing tables and bringing out chips and water was worthless...She stood around and was slow and didn't do anything..watched our waitress left picking up the slack or she was constantly standing in the way.of the waitress and other costumers path .. We asked her for to go box 3 Times since she was just loafing around and each time she walked away and decided to not bring back box??The Brown haired waitress seemed as if she was stoned or on something....yet she was given the large group tables? She completely ignored us when we asked for chip refill. She could've took the basket on way passed us not real attentive looked right at us too .....Thankful we had the good waitress she showed up with new chips water and tea without us even asking must have esp....giving attention to us and other customers whether table was hers or nor...Way. To Go....Blondie.. Made it enjoyable experience very tastefully done just like our dinner!!! read more
