They were told they could bring in their own alcohol, sodas and water. However, 4 days before the wedding they were told they couldn't bring water & sodas. The guest have to pay for them their!! The bride didn't want certain decorations, but the people said they weren't moving them!! The day of the reception it was very warm in the building and especially in the VIP room upstairs. I went outside to get my bag that had my change of clothes, phone charger, meds etc... I put 4 half drank bottles of water in my bag. When I entered the building a Hispanic woman approached me and asked me what was in my bag. I started to tell her and she grabbed my bag to look inside!! How rude!! She then said I couldn't bring in my water. I asked why. She told me I had to buy the water. I told her I wasn't buying any water when I have my own. I then took my water back to my car and returned to the building. That Gestopo woman came rushing up to me to look in my bag AGAIN!! I told her that I didn't have any water! I left it in my car. She grabbed my bag and started going through it! I told her "it's my clothes, my panties, my socks, my charger & meds!" She let go and said "It's policy." I walked off and went up stairs. I told the wedding party about her. I was so mad! Around 9:00pm several of us noticed it started getting hot inside. I thought it was me, but I saw other people fanning themselves. We all came to the conclusion that the people of the place turned up the ac. They made it so uncomfortable that people were leaving. The place was rented until 1:00am!! I left after 10:30pm. It was too hot in there for me!! Did you know that this place used to be a strip club? Sure did! LOL!! Don't rent this place out.

However, I came to their Lam Bo Ballroom for a wedding reception dinner recently, with slightly higher expectations on their quality here than their buffet. The ballroom is located in a separate building from the buffet, deeper into their parking lot, towards the back. The exterior of the ballroom was not bad, and the interior was spacious and nice looking. I had expected their wedding foods to be much higher quality than their regular buffet, but they were absolutely a disaster. These were pretty much the worst Asian wedding foods I've ever had. There were 7 dishes in total: crab and asparagus soup, shrimp paste crab claw, seafood and veggies taro bird's nest, peking duck, steak and asparagus, stuffed salmon, and fried rice. Most of the foods were bland and flavorless. The crab and asparagus soup did not have much flavors, and adding soy sauce and pepper only made it tolerable. The shrimp paste crab claw was also super bland and unappetizing. The seafood and veggies taro bird's nest was also pretty bland but not bad, and the taro bird's nest part of it did not get soggy. The peking duck came with buns and was one of the better dishes out of them all, but it was still not great. The steak was flavorless, dry, and tough. The stuffed salmon was bland, mushy, and fishy. Last but not least, the fried rice was pretty flavorless and unappetizing. I would've given this a 2 out of 5 rating overall because ballroom at least looked nice despite the terrible foods and mediocre service. However, many of the guests had terrible food poisoning after this dinner, including my boyfriend and me. It was an absolute disaster, so I really couldn't give this experience anything higher than a 1 out of 5.

I went to a wedding here and it was a pretty and spacious venue. It was also a lot cheaper than other venues we looked at. This is probably the tradeoff for the food though. The seafood dishes they served were bland, and the steak was a tough, cheap cut. Worst of all, I caught a severe case of food poisoning along with the groom and his parents. A few other guests I heard back from also caught a mild case. If I was rating based on the venue alone, I might have given 5 stars, but the food served led to such a miserable experience that nearly put me in the emergency room.

Classic castle vibes. So many amazing photo locations. We will definitely consider this place whenever we decide to tie the knot one day. The Moran Hotel is attached to the conference center in case you want to stay there while attending the conference. There's a parking structure that also connects to the conference center so you don't have to step outside. Efficiency at its finest. Everything ran smoothly during the conference and the event space is nice. It's not stunning by any means but the logistics are there and the location can't be beaten. You're right in the thick of things in Memorial City so restaurants, bars, and shops abound. Plus plenty of greenery to relax and kick back when the weather is nice.

Everyone should leave their wedding day feeling like it was the best day ever, and unfortunately that was not my experience. My experience was filled with unfulfilled promises. We told them photography and videography were some of the most important things to us. We were told we would get all of the pictures, video footage from the whole day, and a montage video. We received the pictures and video footage but no montage. When I reached out to complain, they only cut the whole day footage into three minutes and it was nothing like the video we were told we would get. We were told we would get pictures back in 30 days and it took 60. When we did get our pictures back, we had flash drives mailed to us and one of the flash drives was broken to where half of our pictures had gray boxes over it. We also had disappointments in catering. We requested water and pink lemonade which was on our contract, and we only received water and tea. I don't drink tea and we went with no alcohol, so I was really disappointed. We also requested extra fajita meat and no chicken wings and shrimp, but the wings and shrimp were both still served. The DJ also messaged me two days before the wedding that the watergrove said they were not paying him for the whole day like they had told me. I had to reach out to the watergrove and beg for the DJ to be paid for the whole day like I was told. I almost didn't have a DJ for my ceremony, and I am so thankful he reached out to me so I could sort it out. Other disappointments in the wedding included that I had to ask for the table cloths to be ironed (they looked like they had been crumbled in a box for months), the ice machine was broken, they did not put our party favors into bins like they said they would, many guests glasses were taken aware before speeches, we were given no plates for cake cutting (which we paid the $100 fee for and it took a long time for it to be served), it took longer to flip the ceremony space than promised, I had to request for the Photo Booth to be redone, I paid for the day of coordinator and she was gone part of the day and I was left with someone I had never met, and we were told there would be a coffee bar at night and there was not. I emailed The WaterGrove event venue on February 24th, and they offered a discount the next time I book with them. They also said the photographer could redo our wedding video at another location or time, but in our opinion that just wouldn't be special anymore. Please do not use them for your event.

The venue has its own private lot and is very easy to access. As I didn't help plan the event, I don't know what all the venue did vs the family planning the event, but everything was executed without a hitch and was quite nice. The interior of the venue is very posh - tile/marble work, fresh paint on the walls, well maintained grounds, etc, so a great backdrop to host any type of large event.
