4 1/2 STARS Great authentic Cuban restaurant. Not only is the food excellent but the interior is well done and CLEAN. We stopped in for dinner and started with Camarones empanizados en coco - beautiful big shrimp that tasted fresh with a coconut crust. For dinner we had a Classic Cuban Sandwich and the Churradco with chimichury sauce with yucca and black beans as the sides. Everything was delicious. For example, even the yucca which can be dry and stringy sometimes was moist and in a nice garlic sauce. Really enjoyed this place. I believe it has only been open for a short time and I certainly hope they are successful. read more

Came in for lunch with my wife and son. We had the Cuban sandwich and the yellow rice side. The sandwich was just average, maybe even below average. A lot of ham, not a lot of pork. The yellow rice was really good, nicely seasoned. The servers were very friendly and the restaurant had a very relaxed vibe. I'm sure some of their other food is good based on the rice but I came specifically for the Cuban sandwich and was underwhelmed. read more

I went inside with my daughter and order for takeout. My daughter pointed to the lady like 3 times the order that she wanted and I even told her my Order twice. Order chicken with yellow rice and a steak sandwich. And some drinks. When i got my Order she got just fried chicken and I got just cooked steak. I went in and told her what happen she gave me an attitude and then tried to tell me I was wrong. I asked her is there anything she can do to fix it she's like no. I even left a good tip also. Not going there ever again. People won't lister and give you attitude. read more

Azucar advertises that they are opened until 8pm, when in all reality like previous reviews, some moron locks the door at 6:30p. In turn, you can be like me who wasted his time driving there and the door is locked with people eating inside. If you lock the doors early, then advertise you close early. read more

Found this gem while we were town for post Hurricane Ian follow up. Dropped in for dinner and much to our surprise it turned out to be some of the best Cuban cuisine we have ever encountered. Lived in South Florida/ Fort Lauderdale for 30 years and the food here was comparable to the best on the east coast of South Florida. Definitely saved to my favorites! read more

Nothing fancy about the setting, never mind that, the food is special. I had the Pescado Varadero, and the server suggested white rice to go along with it. Perfect choice because you don't want to leave any of the sauce on the plate. The servers are friendly and ours was very patient. It was our first visit and she was helpful, assuring that it won't be our last visit. Don't bypass the black rice. It will stand by itself as a reason to return. We'll only be here a week but will make a point of trying other interesting choices on this "Cuban" experience menu. read more

This review is not on the food - it is on the RUDE staff. Arrived at this establishment at 6pm on Saturday ( hours posted open until 8 ) it was POURING rain - we tried to open the door - about 8 people inside - it was locked. The waitress literally just stared at us. Then she came to let someone out of the restaurant and instead of SPEAKING to us and saying "we started closing early on Saturdays or something happened and we had to close early" she barely opened the door, then slammed and locked it again. I refuse to give this place a dime of my money and that is disappointing bc i just bought a home in the area and LOVE cuban food. read more

Not fancy, food and service is great. Really good cafe con leche. We went back and had the creole shrimp and shrimp scampi : not like the traditional Italian style with pasta, this is served with a side of rice with black beans and the scampi is garlicky and delicious in a white sauce. This is as good as you'll find in Lehigh Acres. So far, it's be the best Cuban I've found in SW Florida. Great Roast Pork in Mojo, Ropa Vieja, Cuban Sandwich and Fried Beef. Like all good Cuban food - looks fairly bland on the plate but chocked full of flavor in your mouth. I only wish this place stayed open later so we could eat here more. read more

Went to this restaurant on a recommendation of the hotel I was staying and all I have to say is that they need to STOP recommending people go here. The place was in a seedy shopping center with tons of homeless people. With that being said.... I got the Churassco with chimi churri sauce ... YUCK .. I ordered it medium and it was raw in the middle and a cheap skirt steak that was tough.The food was bland and not at all worth the money . I will never go here again it was a HUGE disappointment. read more

I feel no hesitation to give this restaurant 5 stars right off the top. Living in the general area, I know how difficult it is to find a great Cuban Restaurant with exceptional service, but this is definitely the solution! First of all, the setup is CLEAN, a trait that one should not hope for but only expect from any place one is considering to dine in. Second is the meals. One common problem of restaurants is that because there is usually one key ingredient, most meals end up either tasting the same or too familiar. This is not the Case here! Each meal, even those with (for example) chicken, tastes unique and fresh. The last would definitely be service. The people at Azucar II are extremely friendly and well mannered, striving to make the most enjoyable meals possible for they're customers. Try it for yourself! read more

Seated at a dirty table, yet the waitress insisted it was clean. I guess pieces of food left on the table from the previous guests means, "clean". I gave the waitress the stink eye, and she begrudgingly cleaned it. It was about 10 minutes before we were able to order. It wasn't that busy either. I wanted ropa vieja, but it was stricken from the menu. Dammit! I settled for vaca frita - pan fried shredded beef - with fried yuca. The entrees took longer than expected. They were ok, but looked rather plain and unceremonious. Other entrees looked pretty good. Mine was dry and quite salty, but if it weren't, there would have been little to no taste. The yuca frita was good. What was really good was when I put some mojo sauce on the leftovers and reheated them. That really improved things. I would probably give Azucar another chance. I'd love to try the ropa vieja at some point. read more

A surprise find while briefly visiting the area, but a great Cuban restaurant nonetheless! Not fancy and a little hard to see when you're searching the plaza, but definitely worth finding it. We had the Pollo Milanesa and the Ropa Vieja daily special and both were authentic, freshly made and very good. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Went here August 6, 2020 i waited to write my review because i was very unhappy with my take out order and i didn't want to write while upset. I ordered 2 empenadas the crust was ok more over done. the inside was bland barely anything except light seasoning and some peppers and ground beef. Not authentic not what i expected and super greasy. The fried Tostones where so over done and hard as a rock they were not edible. The steak sandwich the steak was severely over done so tuff and left as whole steak impossible to bite a piece off. You only leave a steak whole on a sandwich like that if it is tender enough to bite a piece off. The only good part about my sandwich was this time surprisingly the bread was not dry and hard as a rock. I must say the even more sad part was not being able to call ahead my order so i can pick up. They have no online ordering and i had to order and wait in parking lot them come get when done. Honestly this is my second visit and i am sorry you failed on both. I hope you work on improving your cooking skills because over done food seems to be your fortei' please work on your cooking skills and send out food you would expect on your plate. read more

We were looking for a spanish restaurant around the area, this came up and seeing what other customers have said we decided to try it. The food IS AMAZING!!!!!
