    Churrasco, congri and plantains

Great food, lovely people, and did I mention great food?! Casual and easy to come in and grab my daily lunch. Prices are very reasonable and the serving size is huge! Also best churrasco in all of Lehigh.

I have to say this place has the best Mofongo in town!!! I am born and raised in Lehigh and can't believe this is the first time trying this restaurant out.

We were planning to do a Cuban culinary exploring trip to Little Havana in Miami. One of my friends suggested we try Naples Rumba Cuban Café and Azucar in Lehigh Acres. Rumba at Naples is closed for vacation this week! Flying solo today, I drove to Lehigh Acres' Azucar! Azucar is located in the Lehigh Acres Towne Center, about good 35-minute drive from Fort Myers. This appears to be a local favorite and styled in a working-class Cuban café. Painting of Celia Cruz and Cuban sites were hanging on the wall. Started sipping with a café con leche while looking at the menu, smell of Cuban food permeated from the kitchen. Ropa Vieja was not available today but I asked for Vaca Frita - pan fried shredded beef with yellow rice and black beans. The Vaca Frita was cooked to perfection; full with flavor with onions and delicious mojo. The black beans and yellow rice make this meal complete! Next table's Lechon Asado and Camarones Al Ajillo were so appealing and it was impossible to keep my eyes off their plates. I got it now, Monday's lunch special, Fricase de Pollo (chicken stew), Tuesday, Ropa Vieja (shredded beef) , Wednesday, Picadillo Habanero (Cuban beef hash) , Thursday, Carne con Papa (beef and potato stew), and Friday, Higado (Liver). The waitresses were friendly. Truly, this is authentic Cuban Café and well worth the trip! Will need several visits to satisfy my taste bud! 4 1/2 Stars rounding up to 5 Stars! An amazing recommendation from my friend!

    Yuca hervida con mono

I was craving vaca frita and not all Cuban joints put it on the menu. Me thinks because it is a pain to make! Anyhoo for just under $14 you get a plate of this with a choice of two sides. Got the congri, which is black beans cooked with white rice. The black bean sauce colors the rice. It was a staple in my house growing up. It was legit. As was the yuca hervida con mojo. They also have fried yuca. Anyway, the vaca frita was good. They are supposed the shred it and cover it with onions, but someone got lazy. It's all good though, bc I did it myself and it tasted great. Just needed a dash of salt, and for me personally, a squeeze of lemon. The lechón asado was ok and we enjoyed the chicken limón de saltimbo, which is a lemon sauce with capers over seared chicken. The side salad is a hispanic version of a salad, which literally means pieces of lettuce with a couple of slices of tomato and maybe some onions. It is what it is folks, and I would not expect anything less. The rice portions are absurd! Who eats that much rice?!! The amount of rice given could easily feed four people.

Husband and I went here for the first time any the food was really good. We ordered to go which too about 15 minutes or less. Everything was packaged well. You can dine in here and I like that it's seems relaxed and I love that it's local. My only issue is that order grille Swai and got fried Swai instead. I wasn't already home by the time opened the container. Otherwise I would have pointed that out.

Princesa has been established for nearly 5 years. This is my first visit here. There are two or three outside tables and five inside tables with more than 6 or 7 feet apart. A little sign inside displays "Coffee, prayer & Conversation always welcome here" They serve breakfast, lunch, and meals from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM with eggs, toasts, empanada, croquet, spaghetti and Pizza. A friend informed me that she loves their Cuban Sandwich, Chicken Empanada, pastry, and coffee there! The menu is limited but do very well in everything they prepare. An excellent business strategy! We ordered a Cuban Sandwich, Beef Empanada, Guava and Cheese Pastellito, and a Batido de Mamey for lunch. The Cuban Sandwich was huge and tasty. Beef Empanada flavorful, and the Batido de Maney (Mamey Milkshake) was creamy and smooth. The price is reasonable and it was too much food for two. We saved the Guave and Cheese Pastellito for afternoon coffee break. The ambiance is a relaxed neighborhood bakery and café. The staff is friendly and will answer any question about their menu! This is a hidden gem in Lehigh Acres.

I've been stopping by this Cuban cafeteria almost every morning on my way to work for the past four…read moreyears. At this point, the staff knows my order before I even get to the counter, which says a lot about how often I'm here and how much I enjoy the place. In my opinion, they serve the best Cuban tostada in Southwest Florida. The Cuban bread is exactly how it should be--not overly soft or spongy--and toasted to the perfect golden crisp. Pair that with a large café con leche, and you've got the perfect start to the day. Every now and then I'll add a couple of ham croquetas, and they never disappoint. Over the years I've worked my way through much of their hot food selection, including the congri rice, yuca, fried plantains, pork chunks, ropa vieja, and Cuban tamales. Every dish has been consistently flavorful and satisfying. I've even ordered large catering platters for holidays and family events, and they've always been a hit. Needless to say, this is one of my go-to spots. Great food, friendly people, and consistent quality keep me coming back week after week. And I almost forgot--the chicharrones are absolutely FIRE. If they're available, do yourself a favor and grab some.

1 STAR -- Absolutely Terrible Customer Service…read more I would give ZERO stars if I could. This was one of the most disappointing and inconsiderate experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. I called La Delicias ahead of time specifically to confirm their hours because I wanted to make sure we could come in and eat. I was told they were open until 7:00 PM. We arrived at approximately 6:15 PM -- nearly 45 minutes before their posted closing time -- expecting to sit down and have dinner. Instead, we were told, "Sorry, you cannot eat here because we close at 7:00 and we need time to clean." Seriously? If you don't allow customers to sit down and eat at 6:15 PM, then YOU ARE NOT OPEN UNTIL 7:00 PM. Change your hours to reflect the actual time you stop serving customers. I even explained to the woman that I had called ahead before coming and specifically asked about their closing time. I told her, "I called an hour ahead of time. You told me you close at 7:00. It's 6:15, and I'm here, and I can't even sit down and eat?" There was absolutely no empathy, no attempt to accommodate us, and no concern whatsoever that we had made the effort to call ahead and come there based on the information they gave us. I completely understand that employees need time to clean and close the restaurant. But you don't start turning customers away nearly an hour before your advertised closing time and expect people to be okay with it. If you need that much time to clean, then your business hours should say that you close at 6:15 PM. This wasn't about expecting special treatment. It was about basic honesty, reasonable customer service, and respecting people's time. We drove there expecting to have dinner, only to be turned away while they were still technically open. Extremely disappointing. Extremely inconsiderate. I will not be returning, and based on this experience, I cannot recommend La Delicias to anyone.
