Chicken breast lunch, shredded beef lunch
    Brandy D.

The food was okay. I had the chicken breast lunch special that came with two sides. It was very moist and soggy like that it didn't seem like it was done. The tostones were tasty and made well. The only other issue I had is that no one speaks English in the place so it was hard to communicate and understand more of what was in dishes

Was looking for an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant and definitely found one. Small but cozy. Lots of take out traffic which is a good sign. I had the Ropa Vieja with arroz con gandules and tostones. Real deal! My wife had the chicken guisado with arroz con gandules and maduros. We also ordered side order of mofongo. Suggest asking for some mojo to pour over the mofongo. The side broth they give with mofongo usually not too flavorfu. Definitely recommend and definitely going back soon.

NEVER AGAIN. Order for delivery bc I was working and was starting and this is what the had the nerve to send to a customer. If I was a cook in any restaurant I would be ashamed to send out this crap and expect anyone to eat. I order milanesa de carne with fries and salad. This piece of stake was thinner than a sheet of paper and burnt to a crisp. The whole thing was just the fried batter and the old, thin, disgusting, burnt piece of meat. The salad was also old and turn pinkish and mushy and they didn't even bother to send me a dressing of any kind. Not that I would have eaten pinkish salad anyways. So obviously I went to trash and I got something else on my way home. And they know I paid for the delivery and paid for the tip and for the food and still had the nerve to send this out. You have no business opening a restaurant when this is the "quality" of the food you deliver. If I could give 0 star review I would. 1 is way to generous.

    Churrasco and Mofongo plate

They were very friendly and accommodating. I haven't had real Puerto Rican cuisine in a very long time and came across their restaurant while shopping at a local store. I ordered their churassco with mofongo and I must say it was delicious the steak was tender and tasted amazing their mofongo had pork grinds and was so full of flavor

While I was out in Fort Myers, I needed to taste Mofongo again since I been craving it so. One of my colleagues recommended this place, and I loved my dish! I got the Shrimp Garlic Sauce Mofongo. It was tasty and authentic like I was in Cuba! They have a clean interior and the music makes you want to get up and dance. I liked the decor inside and the paintings they had which gives it more of a Caribbean atmosphere. They only reason why it isn't 5 stars is because I felt as if my plate could of had more sides and less sweet plantain. Maybe some rice or some veggies or something. But besides that I'd give it 4.5 out of 5 stars! It is a well known place as I see people come in and order to go or dine in like we did. Tip: I like drinking agua frescas like pina pr horchata or something. But they don't have that. They have cans of soda.

Nestled in the corner of the shopping center just south of Colonial Blvd on South Cleveland Ave is this gem serving up Puerto Rican food. Not a fancy joint but there is some charm with tables set up with old fashioned diner style napkin holders and plastic ketchup bottles but don't let that keep you from taking a seat after getting a friendly welcome and making a selection from menu. After ordering my dinner I was presented with a bowl of fresh plantain chips served with a tangy garlic sauce which was unexpected and quite good. One word can describe my entree. "¡Delicioso!" I selected the bandeja jibara which is a combination meal where you are given options of the type of meat and rice you wish to have along with a salad, mofongo and a pastel. Everything on my dish was quite tasty, well prepared and fresh. I'll definitely be coming back to El Pilon.

Burned chicken from El Pilón Restaurant

If I could put a zero review, I would off, but only can do 1 star. Was excited to eat some Puerto Rican food and ordered 4 fried chicken and instead I got 3 very small burned chicken, not to mention the rice was sticky. Very disappointed and disgusted and I have to throw the food away. Please don't waste your money in this place.

Roti originated from Indian continent but also popular in West Indian like Guyana. This Roti Shop was in our minds for years. Finally, we walked in to try the West Indian Roti. My wife asks me, "You know the difference between Roti and Naan?". According to her, Roti is an unleavened flatbread with whole wheat flour sometime with oil or butter that cooked in a griddle or skillet whereas Naan is a leavened flatbread make with refined flour some time with milk and yogurt in a tandoor or clay oven." She went on and told me that Naan is thicker and softer. Roti is generally eaten with curries and dals. There are two rotis available here, paratha, a buttery flatbread or Dhal Puri, a flatbread filled with split peas and lentils. The menu is simple, you can use roti to wrap your choice of curried chicken, shrimp or goat, or use the roti to dip into your favorite curried items or curried items over rice with roti! We ordered a shrimp roti meal with Dhal Puri and a double plain roti wrap. The double plain roti is sweet and savory. The curried shrimp with peas, potatoes are well prepared and simmered with aroma. It hits the spot. We shared a pineapple soda. The ambiance here is simple. A small TV with a few pictures on the wall and the several Guyana flags. The tables are not shiny, but they are clean. It is homely and the food is good! Amazing discovery in Fort Myers! If you want to try West Indian Roti, this place is for you.
