Enchiladas Popeye

First time eating at Azteca, didn't realize it was an Elvis tribute theme. They have a nice large parking lot , parking isn't an issue. We were greeted immediately, the waiter was very prompt and accommodating. We ordered drinks and food. My chicken fajitas were the worse I've ever had. I'm used to them coming out sizzling hot. These were premade with overcooked chicken mixed with a sauce and veggies. The meat was tough. These portions are large though. My husband had the carnitas which he said were very good and our friend had the enchiladas which he said were excellent. The restaurant was busy, maybe I didn't order the right meal, but needless to say, I won't be returning.

Cute niche Mexican/Dive Bar with an Elvis and rock theme! There is a restaurant side and a bar side. We were at the street event that Garden Grove usually hosts Friday nights and after walking around a few hours we got hungry and decided to get food and margaritas. We ordered the half nachos, which were huge! And also margaritas. The meat was tender and they have a variety of options for margaritas and spirits. We got cadillac margaritas. Katie was our server and recommended the margs and the nachos and we enjoyed both; thank you Katie! She was really nice! Enjoyed the vibes inside with rock and it was a plus that they had good food as well!

Mexican restaurant with a big Elvis vibe. Large portions, great service. Taquitos were basic but decent. Others in my group ordered tacos, burritos and enchiladas. Some of the biggest enchiladas and tacos were stuffed full. The garlic tacos were a huge hit. Price range is very affordable and portions are big. A must visit if you're in the area.

Good sized portions. We had the chicken fajitas and chile verde and were both happy with our choices. Drinks were good and affordable. There was an attached bar. Best part was the decor! It was a happy surprise. Elvis everything! The original posters are amazing. Definitely a unique experience located in a cute area. Parking was easy on a Thursday evening.

Came here to check out the scene for karaoke. Seems like it's a lot of locals that come here. We waited a bit for someone to actually help us out and when they did, it took forever to get our drinks. We asked for chips and salsa which they brought however, apparently now they charge you for chips and salsa, which before they never did. I give the salsa a three out of five and the drinks the same. I had a coconut margarita and it was nothing to write home about. Overall, I can see why the locals come here however if you're looking for a more traditional, Mexican restaurant go somewhere else. And if you're looking for karaoke, there was a lot of amateurs which is great and I applaud however, after a while, your ears can only take so much.

My friend and I had some time to kill before a concert located at Garden AMP. Wanted to get something to eat before our fun night started. We stumbled upon this unique restaurant down the historic Main Street in Garden Grove. Owner had greeted us at the door and we asked to be seated outside due to the nice warm weather. I had ordered from the À la carte menu which was a steak enchilada and beef taco. Everything was at reasonable prices and all so good tasting authentic Mexican food. It was all so filling. You do get free chips and salsa. My dish was under $10 and you can't beat that price anywhere else. I did ordered a Blue Hawaiian Cocktail which didn't look too appealing, but it was one strong drink. It definitely started my night on a good note. Will be revisiting again if I'm in the area maybe for another concert.

Hole in the wall vibes in a good way. Drinks are strong and delicious. Ceviche tasted fresh and gave me no troubles afterwards, which I held slight concern about but ultimately was fine. Cleanliness is a bit of an issue but the more of your strong drink you guzzle, the less you notice it haha. Went with a big group spur of the moment, staff was very accommodating setting us up with tables pushed together. Their old school Mexican food looked pretty tasty as well.

My brother lives just down the street from this cute little downtown area. His favorite of the downtown restaurants is Azteca. Jesse often waits outside to invite you in as he was doing when we visited. The place is really fun with an Elvis theme. I started with the abondigas soup which was good. Next, I ordered a carnitas taco and a chicken taco. Their tacos are quite large and delicious. My brother got the chimichanga (dry) with a dollop of both guac & sour cream. It's my brothers favorite. I will look forward to returning next time I visit my brother.

After a Thursday evening event, we were craving some late night food and decided to stop by Azteca. We arrived around 8:50 pm and headed to the bar area. The kitchen closes at 9 and the restaurant closes at 11, so we were grateful they were still able to take our order. I went with the steak fajitas and it definitely hit the spot. The bartender was friendly, welcoming, and quick to get us settled with chips and salsa. I am a total sucker for good chips and salsa and could not stop snacking. They happily brought out refills a couple of times without us even having to ask. That kind of attentiveness always stands out. Service throughout the evening was efficient and consistent. My iced tea was refilled multiple times, which I always appreciate. The bar area had several TVs on, so we were able to catch some hockey and basketball while we ate, which made it a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Great service, good food, and a reliable late evening option. Really thankful Azteca is around when you need solid food and drinks after a long day.

This is a stable institution Mexican restaurant in GG downtown Main Street for decades. It used to be packed and lively all the time. I live literally beside the restaurant decades ago. Been there a lot before and both restaurant side and bar side. Love the decors, if you're into Elvis and movie posters..this would be the place to check out. The service that I received had be fantastic and very friendly. Today l, stopped by for a drink and snack at the lounge side while waiting to pick up my kid from practice. Great drink as usual, great service, good foods. It can be a big hit or miss. Today is a good day.

This is a spacious restaurant with many tables inside and fitting for small or large groups. There's a large screen TV where you'll probably find a game or sport on screen. When our food came out, she also gave me an additional salsa or pico de gallo to try since my boss asked for it. I ordered the crunchy beef tacos (without cheese) plate. I enjoyed the rice and beans that came with the meal. It was a decent amount and very filling. As for the crunchy tacos, I really liked them! From the moment we walked in everything just seemed well put together. Shockingly there were only 2-3 other tables filled and you'll understand in a few minutes. Guac was sorta under seasoned but it was still a good creamy addition to the steaming hot taquito. 2 Dorato taco plate - these were similar to the taquitos in all the good ways but even more packed with meat, crisp lettuce and mounds of freshly graded cheese...damn good! Looked around and this is what everyone had, even people after us. Must order one of these! YES, it will fill you up! Guac Mexicana - freshly made guac to order and it was great! Flavor was perfect and went well with everything. Beans - we're bean lovers and these were so good I had to call it out. The pico de gallo is a must as well, don't miss out on it. Spicy though! This is a must try for anyone in a 10-15 mile radius....and any closer you should run there! The restaurant was very clean, staff were attentive and pleasant from entry to exit...we couldn't be happier with our experience. Kudos to this place for running a restaurant the right way! I really liked: Baja Fish Taco…read more Churro I liked: Asada Mulita This was ok: Burria Taco The Baja fish taco is the standout #goodeats here. The crisp on the fish is solid, and it tastes clean without being overly greasy. Pair it with their sauce and it really comes together. The churro was super fresh and honestly one of my favorite parts of the meal. Light, crispy, and just sweet enough. If they added a chocolate dipping sauce, it would go crazy. The asada mulita leans heavily on the cheese. The cheese itself is good, but the asada doesn't bring much flavor, so it feels a bit one-note. The burria taco is just okay. It's a little dry, and while the sauce helps, you can still tell it's lacking some juiciness. Service is pretty straightforward. You walk up, order at the window, and grab your food when it's ready. Nothing over the top, but it gets the job done. I did appreciate that they'll pack up grilled onions and cucumbers if you ask. Nice little touch that adds to the experience. The plaza it's located in is super cute and honestly adds a lot to the visit. There's plenty of open seating, and it feels like a great spot for family hangouts or casual group meals. There's usually music playing, which gives it a fun, lively vibe.
