Okay I get that it's a barber shop, but I'll tell you what. Homegirl in there hooked up my head lol Celia, one of the barbers at Azteca was able to cut and style my hair. I was a little hesitant and not 100% sure because it's a barbershop, I didn't expect anyone there to cut woman's hair. But honestly, Celia did amazing! I really just wanted to cut my hair and she asked what I was looking for and gave suggestions. And I'm not really knowledgeable about that stuff so I told her it was up to her. WE LOVE HER CREATIVE FREEDOM! She washed my hair, cut it, gave me layers and bangs. And I'm not mad about it. I love it and how it came out. I'm glad I was able to trust her to not make me look like a troll lol instead a got something that it super different and unexpected and I absolutely love it. My boy Guille or Memo as he is also known is the best barber around town! Cheap compared to other shops at $15 for a Taper or Fade. Guille's schedule is always very accommodating, only day he doesn't work is Sunday. He does take his time with his haircut so he prepared to wait or get there early! Celia has used to cut my hair 4 years ago for about a year. She was always so sweet and social with giving me the exact cut I wanted. I recently went back after 3 years and she has recently cut my hair twice in the past month and she still is one of the best barbers I've been to. Horrible service! I asked for a mid fade and after asking him why he cut his hair so short he said that that's what I asked for. He also argued saying he had 15 years of experience and that I didn't know what I asked for. When the picture that I asked for shows the opposite. He said it was the same exact cut. I left pictures of how he left his hair. I took the pictures as soon as we left to show that what he did is not acceptable at all.Really all of that gel come on now! This was my first and last time getting help by him. His customer service is horrible and doesn't know how to approach someone nicely. He came off rude and clearly got really offended because I asked why it didn't look like a mid fade. Came out of the place literally shaking of how mad and how rude he was saying I didn't know what I asked for. AVOID THE GUY IN THE 3RD CHAIR AT ALL COSTS... everybody else in there knows what they are doing but that guy rushed my haircut left a bunch of lines and made a face when i told him he left lines, i asked for a fade with a double zero " not even shaved" and he couldnt even zero me out properly, he said hes been cutting hair for 10 years but frankly i dont see it, i can get a better haircut at a barber school. my advice stick to Celia or Mary... read more

Sergio and Tere are the barbers that have the most time there, and they pull alot of crowd. Beto the owner is a great person, he cuts good hair and can keep you intertained in the process. It's been a very long time since I've stepped inside Azteca and I remembered why today. The wait for a hair cut wasn't that long considering that there were five barbers on the floor the place was kinda packed but it was okay. It was finally my turn and the guy who helped me was very friendly and asked me to take a seat, after I explained all I wanted was to shape up my beard and to have my face shaved, this gentleman got to work. I was looking forward to that smooth shaved face that a straight razor can only give you since I haven't had a good clean shaved face in a while. Well long story short everything was done and I was charged $12 I personally believe the price was expensive for what I got but hey that's how you learn, anyways I arrived home and as I was rechecking my face I realized I was ripped off, my younger brother told me I looked the same like if my face was never shaved and to top it all off my beard was super uneven, I knew something was up because the guy who was working on me kept on wiping his forehead to much like if he was very nervous. I couldn't go back to get my beard fixed since I had to leave for a party in Lynwood so I had to fix it the best I could with a regular razor at home, it was a waste of my time and money, I know there are many places to get your hair cut and beard shaped but clearly Azteca isn't one of those places for beards. I highly recommend you think it over twice before you decide to do anything here, I know I will never be stepping another foot inside Azteca ever again. read more

I've been going to Azteca since I was a kid and now I get to take mine. Very professional atmosphere no drugs or nonsense. They tell you like it is and if your feelings get hurt o well. If your one ugly fool a nice hair cut can't change that. A barber is a person you can trust with your look but they also have lives and need to take lunch breaks, answer family calls and leave home on time. So don't ding them on the time you get there and certain things that happen. It's COMPTON we're shit happens. If you can't deal with it stay out of the CPT and get your hair cut at a shitty place. I give all the barbers a chance with my hair and pretty much all cut it right. It's a a hard job and for 12 bucks it's a steal. Beto does a great job at hiring talent and knows his business. I hope you give any barber at Azteca a chance at cutting your hair. You will see that there you don't have to wait for one Barber, but eventually develop a relationship with all of them. PS.
