I was just visiting another establishment in the plaza and parked my car next to his shiney new ride. Later, as my girlfriend and I were returning back to our car to leave, he came out of the barbershop and greeted me so warmly as bro, but as he got closer, I could see anger in his eyes as he proceeds to accuse me of scratching his car. "Bro, look, there's the scratch." (He points to a barely-there scratch, across from my rear door, no where near where I was getting in or out.) "I just bought this car yesterday, you parked too close, and scratched it." I try explain it's not physically possible since I had no rear passengers, and had nothing in the rear seat to have any reason to open my rear door. He keeps reminding me that he "just bought the car yesterday" so I am the only possible culprit for the scratch. At this point, there's no point in arguing, and I just get back into my car and watch him walk back into Rise N Grind. I assumed he was waiting to get his hair cut, but to my surprise, he starts to cut a client's hair! He had stopped working on a client mid-cut to run out and accuse me of scratching his car lol He didn't introduce himself, but from what I've gathered from social media, he looks to be the barber that goes by Chino. I'm sure the owner will correct me if I'm wrong, because whoever this person is, I'm confident he's told all his co-workers multiple times about how he "just bought this car yesterday." I hope he doesn't honestly believe I scratched his car, because that is just delusional. I just have some final words of advice for anyone choosing Chino as your barber, don't park too close to his dark grey Honda Civic, otherwise, he'll have one eye on his car, and only one eye on his clippers!

Our barber Jevon listened to my requests for my 7 year old son's hair as well as answered our questions. He was very polite and knowledgeable as well as super patient and kind with my son. Great attention to detail, made my son feel comfortable and gave him a great quality haircut. Best and most importantly, my child didn't cry, wasn't scared like usual haircuts and left smiling!

However, the owner Jesse has cut his hair previously and honestly not a fan but it wasn't necessarily bad but he wouldn't get the haircut right for my brother. However his normal barber has moved shops and due to long waits Jesse took my brother today and absolutely botched his hair. Like it's so bad he has chunks of hair missing and the cut this time was uneven and just messy overall. He's too busy being loud talking to everyone and not paying attention to who he has in his chair and it's disappointing because for a barber shop with such good ratings you would think he'd take a bit more pride in his work considering that's HIS shop. I don't even know where to begin, so I'll start with the scheduling experience. I called ahead to…read morebook a haircut for my 2 yr old son and specifically asked if the barbers were comfortable cutting a toddler's hair, knowing how challenging that can be. The person I spoke with assured me that they could and said he personally handled children's cuts. His name was Christian. I booked the appointment for Saturday, October 11th, at 11a, and mentioned I had a photo reference of the style I wanted. He said that would be perfect to share at the appointment. Fast forward to the appointment: I arrived around 10:45a with my son. We were neither greeted nor acknowledged (red flag #1). I understand it's an all male barbershop, but as a mom walking in with a young child, a simple "Hi" or "Welcome" would have gone a long way. Moments later, a male customer entered and was warmly greeted with, "Hey, welcome to the shop, we'll be right with you" (red flag #2). A few minutes later, a barber approached and confirmed I was there for my son's appointment. He introduced himself as Christian and said he'd be with us shortly. To his credit, the appointment started right on time, and I did notice him cleaning his tools and workspace before calling us over. That's the one star. Once my son was seated, I showed Christian the photo of the haircut I wanted. I also told him my son had hurt his ear earlier that morning and asked that he be gentle around that area. He acknowledged and began working. However, as he started cutting, I noticed he was going much shorter than the reference photo. I showed him the picture again, and he said he'd stay at a "2," yet continued cutting shorter (red flag #3). By the time I stopped him, my son's hair was already down to a "1"completely different from what I had requested. To make matters worse, Christian continued touching my son's sensitive ear despite my earlier warning. My son was becoming restless, and I finally asked him to stop. Christian insisted on "just finishing the top," and although I agreed, I clearly said not to cut it short. He nodded, then proceeded to do exactly that. He ultimately charged $20, explaining it wasn't a "full service." Honestly, I should have refused to pay given the botched result. My son's haircut was nothing like the photo, and the entire experience felt careless and dismissive. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this barbershop. I strongly advise parents of young children (especially mom's) to avoid bringing their kids here unless they're okay with botched cuts and sexist behaviors.

While there I saw some of the other barbers do clean cuts for around a dozen other clients. We would be happy and comfortable trusting our haircuts with any barber here. The shop is clean, has a great aesthetic, and all staff were friendly. We will definitely be coming back here for all of our future cuts.
