    Contact with Aztec about dent in door when delivered

    I am updating my review. I was contacted by Gene, Aztec's general manager, 2 yrs late but I was very impressed by his apology for how this was handled. It is commendable when someone can acknowledge that things were mishandled. He has excellent customer service skills and clearly an asset to the company.

    The cooktop

    This group was very helpful. I never went into the shop. All purchases were online. I had an old house that needed a unique oven. They helped me get it.

I decided to go with a Speed Queen TR5003WN top loader which was sold at Premier Appliance Store San Diego. Alex greeted me and since I already decided what I wanted to purchase, he answered all my questions/concerns without hesitation. I didn't have to wait in line to be helped as I have experienced in the local stores that sell appliances. Alex said the washer could be delivered the next day. The process of purchasing and delivery was very easy. For delivery, one did not have to disconnect hoses, etc. in order for the new unit to be installed. The delivery team did everything and made sure the washer was properly balanced. I choose the Speed Queen because of its history with longevity. Yes, it is expensive. Considering how much I paid for my last washer (4 1/2 years old) and the repairs which did not solve the problem, I am really hoping Speed Queen lives up to its reputation. I purchased the washer 12/1/2025 and I am very happy with it thus far. For those concerned about noise, it is very quiet during the wash cycle and a bit louder during the spin cycle as one would expect. Based on my experience, I would recommend Premier Appliance Store San Diego.

I was told by the scheduler and Felix that the service call was $85. After arriving, Felix pulled my drawer microwave out, put it on the counter and opened it up. I was working from home in the room next to the kitchen (with the door open). I came out and checked on him, every 10-15 minutes. He never said anything to me. About 45 minute later, he put the microwave back, asked for help with the plug and say it was working and that there was something shorting it out inside and that he had cleaned it and the it was working. That was the first thing he had said to me since he had started work. He asked for a cup of water to test the microwave. He then told me I would be $385 dollars. There was never a discussion of the work he was undertaking or that he was doing anything beyond looking inside the microwave. He got defensive when I pointed out that he had not given me a quote for work beyond the service call and did eventually come down but not after trying to bully me. He started quoting replacement costs for parts that he did not replace (that were also covered under the warranty so not even relevant). Even after he came down in price for the work, he tried to guilt me by showing me invoices for unrelated work on other microwaves. It was incredibly unprofessional. While he was clearly qualified, I would avoid this company or at least be prepared to know your rights as a consumer and be ready to advocate for yourself when it comes time to pay the invoice. We won't use them again.

After purchasing a washing machine on the website, I got a same-day call from Jesus and was told it would take about 6 days for the model I ordered to arrive from the manufacturer. 6 days pass, 7 days pass, 8 days pass, no update from Jesus. I call Jesus on a Saturday for an update and was told to send an email in 3 days because he's out on Monday. I wait 3 more days and sent an email the morning of the 4th day about the situation. No response all day. So I decided to call Jesus and was told over the phone that there is likely no available stock from the manufacturer for that particular model, I was offered an alternative at a discounted price. I took a day to think about it and decide to move forward with the alternate model at the discounted price. I ask for an updated invoice. I am told an invoice will be sent. No invoice was sent to the email on file. I continue texting Jesus about the unit and I ask again for an invoice to be sent to a different email just in case the first one bounced somehow. I wait for a day or two, no invoice yet but agree to have the washing machine delivered because it had been over 2 weeks since I made the initial purchase. It's the day of delivery and I still haven't gotten an invoice from Jesus. I call Aztec Appliance for customer support and get connected to Dawn. Dawn was so helpful in the situation with the way she was able to gain a better understanding of what had happened thus far. She was able to confirm that the info Jesus shared with me about the original model's unavailability was true and sent me a copy of the invoice (third times the charm). The delivery and installation of the unit was smooth. Their team was quick and efficient. Unfortunately I had to call Dawn again to clarify the fact that the invoice indicated that the unit I received was an open box model and was concerned about the viability of the manufacturers warrenty. The fact that the model I received was an open box model was never disclosed to me by Jesus. It was extremely disappointing to work with Jesus i.e. nonexistent outreach to provide updates, undelivered invoices after multiple requests, lack of transparency for items sold. TLDR; Dawn is amazing. If you have a chance to work with her, you'll have an amazing time at Actec Appliance. I wouldn't like to have my order serviced by Jesus the next time I choose to purchase something from Aztec Appliance.
