Azeem Indian Restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite spots for Indian food in the Morgan Hill area. I absolutely love their beef samosa, kababs, and naan. Everything is flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The appetizers are especially impressive, and you can really taste the quality of the spices and preparation. Their menu has a great variety, from classic curries and tandoori dishes to biryanis and vegetarian options, so there is something for everyone. I have not tried it yet, but their lamb shank biryani is definitely next on my to do list. It sounds amazing and I have heard great things about it. What really sets this place apart is the kindness of the owner. He is genuinely welcoming and friendly and makes you feel appreciated as a customer, which adds a lot to the overall dining experience. I would highly recommend Azeem Indian Restaurant to anyone around Morgan Hill, San Jose, or Gilroy. I gave this place a very high rating many months ago and to this day I'd still give it a high rating. Azeem is always so pleasant to talk to and the food always puts me in a better mood. The Lamb Shank is still by far my favorite with the beans, rice, and the yogurt sauce. They added a new menu item, it's like a dessert empanada and by every good thing God has created in this world for us to enjoy, the empanadas are one of the greatest pastries I have ever had iny life! My husband and I had seen this place while we were running errands in Morgan Hill and decided to try it out. It's a nice place spacious though more of a take out place. We loved the biryani's we tried. Chicken and Fish biryani both were really tasty and very fresh. The owners were really sweet people who asked us couple of times if we needed anything. Great service. We will definitely get biryani's from there in the future. They have few other dishes which we definitely plan to try. Small family run business and hospitality is great! read more

Ordered a few things from here first off Pani puri 1/5 Pani puri no flavor what so ever the filling basically only included garbanzo beans which and no flavor to them and the water well just say it was colored water that's it no flavor non the puri's were not crispy as they should be. Chicken Kirahi & Naan 2/5 First for most the plate was full of oil had at least a shot glass worth off oil in it. Second the kirahi itself way too salty chicken was good cooked nice and tender but again no spicy to it no other taste can basically only taste the salt a little green chili like I would say a hint of it. Naan well they call themself a restaurant so I would like a restaurant to at least make fresh naans like the naans they served where from those deep frozen tandoori naans I've had those at home and these naans tasted exactly like that matter in fact looked the same too and they charged $4 I can get fresh naans from my local market for a $1.50 and they are going to be most likely bigger then the ones they served for $4.00 and not to mention fresh. So there naans for sure came from the tandoori naan packet I mean have some standard your a restaurant. Chicken biryani 1/5 Chicken biryani again had no spice to it I mean it is a biryani not boiled rice. Chicken was cooked good. Some grains of the rice felt hard like the rice was sitting overall not the best. Bottom line if your a desi you will not get the taste of a desi restaurant from this spot I would a coleslaw and fish over this all day long it is like an insult to desi food what this restaurant is putting out. Hands down best haleem and Hyderabadi biryani in the Bay Area, owners are so sweet and welcoming. Absolutely must try this hidden gem in Morgan Hill. Just updating my review based on some other ones I've read-I honestly don't know what people are talking about as far as food taste/quality-Im Indian and I literally don't eat at desi restaurants because I find the food to be so mediocre compared to real Indian food. We had the exact same experience as Rj's review. Everyone who is giving this place a 5 star review is either a bot or a friend trying to boost their stars. We were excited to try this place as there is not a lot of ethnic places in the area and we love supporting small family businesses. When we entered, we also felt it a bit awkward. We weren't greeted by the man at the front and we were not sure if we order at the front or sit down and order. It wound up ordering at the front and then sitting down. We asked the man a few questions but he was not very friendly so we just ordered what we have eaten before. Seating is strange as its booth seats but they don't quite fit with the tables so one person is sitting close to the table and the other person on the other side is sitting far away from the table. The place could use a new paint job and cleaned up a bit but we understand this place is probably more for to-go orders so its not a big deal. Food came out in all to go containers with paper plates and disposable utensils. I felt bad that we were eating on disposable dishes and everything would be thrown away at the end but I guess that is how they serve their food. No water service, so we wound up having to buy drinks at the fridge near the front. Food was mediocre at best. The sauces were not creamy and flavorful. The chicken felt like it had been sitting there all day.....definitely not fresh or flavorful. Rice was okay....nothing great. We were very disappointed in the lack of flavors in the food. I will be honest, the Indian frozen dinners at Trader Joe's are better then the food here. I went to Azeem's soft opening a few months back and figured I would revisit at some point. I hoped that things would improve based on the fact that they were clearly still in the process of opening when I first went, but that does not necessarily seem to be the case. Overall, brass tacks - food is ok, but nothing special. A different reviewer said that frozen Trader Joe's food is better, which might be a bit harsh, but the food quality is not up to par with other Indo/Pak restaurants in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, Morgan Hill only has two Indian restaurants, but only one that I will frequently visit. The ambiance is definitely disappointing - I understand that they are positioning themselves as a takeout restaurant, but why have tables if that is the case? And, if they do offer dine-in service, they should be offering free water (as required by California law) as well as real plates and utensils. They could have easily leased out a smaller storefront to make it truly a to-go only place, but instead they seem to have been set up for at least limited dining, without actually thinking of making that experience enjoyable for the guests. We ordered a biryani, a curry, and a dal, along with samosa and naan. Naan was not good - felt like something you get in a frozen pack. Samosas were good, not great. Biryani was probably the best thing we got, but the meat was pretty limited in quantity. Service was not good - confusing menu, no table service, they forgot a dish. We asked for a refund but they guy said "no we already made it," even though it was never brought to us, and it took a further 15 minutes for us to get it, which makes me think they just didn't want to give us a refund. I hope Azeem's becomes a solid second option in Morgan Hill for Indian food, but based on the dismissive responses from the owner on the other negative reviews, it does not seem like there is much desire to actually take feedback. read more

Came here for the first time. I know this place is new and mom/pop owned so I don't want to be too harsh but there is just so much lacking, I hope they get it together. Upon entering, it's awkwardly silent. They need a TV playing Bollywood or Indian music videos or even just music, anything for that matter. We also were co fused as to do we sit down and they will come to use with menus and take our order or do we order than sit down. We did the latter which seemed to be the way. The elder gentlemen who seemed to be more in the back kitchen was smiling and friendly. Everyone else was more or less poker faced. The menu was odd. Im still confused as what I was looking at between a piece of paper, and a menu with two pages in which one had random dishes listed down the middle. The menu needs a lot of work. We then sat down to eat in and were brought paper plates and plastic utensils. This was odd. No water was brought so we asked for water and a guy brought two small cups. They didnt have a water station set up so he brought us a water bottle on the house. This was nice to not charge for the water bottle but it wasn't nearly enough for the 3 of us. My dish was the chicken biryani. Usually biriyanil comes with chutney and often times a hard boiled egg. I got neither and there was a chicken thigh and drum stick inside on the bone. A true mom and pop dining. Time will bring about the frills that most Customers seek with in house dining. More cultural objects of decor, conversation and greeting to feel welcome. Our food was surprisingly served in plastic takeout containers, plastic utensils and no water. We were the only sit down customers that evening until our departure. I probably wouldn't go back to eat from plastic containers for a dinner! This is the best Indian restaurant in the Bay Area. Their biryani is super flavorful and delicious. Haleem is amazing, eggplant dish is so yummy! So far,I've been here three times in two weeks and everything that I've tried is great. The only thing that they lack is prompt service! Maybe its due to the fact that they had soft opening. Disappointing restaurant. Found this new restaurant in town and wanted to try it out. Walking in was greeted by a friendly woman who seated us to dine in. The restaurant looked unfinished and large bench seats were away from the walls and not fixed down. Ordered Matar Paneer Masala, garlic naan, and samosas. After we ordered the woman asked us to pay. Here was the order, $15 for curry, $4 for naan, and $7 for two samosas. That is $26 with 9.13 % tax is $28.37. We got charged $30.65. I challenged the cost and she said it was tax. Asked about the cost of items on the bill, no answer to that. Perhaps a merchant fee? No sign for that, OK whatever. The woman asked if we wanted the food to go or to dine in. I responded dine in. The food arrived in plastic containers and foil. I asked for utensils and they were cheap plastic. At this point I was hungry so just ate it. So the naan was maybe frozen reheat definitely not fresh and for sure not cooked in a tandoori oven. The samosas were decent but similar to frozen food store bought. The Matar Paneer Masala was watery and not flavorful. The container it was in seemed like it came out of a microwave. Honestly I have no clue how anybody gave this place a good review. It was terrible and I could have had a better meal at home cooking frozen food in a microwave and toaster oven. Don't bother trying this place. So I hosted an event of 50 people over the weekend where The Food, The Service and The Friendly & Family oriented vibes are few things that played a major role in successful gathering at Azeem's. Beautifully presented and curated chefs food made everyone from little ones to the elderly love the food. This restaurant was very disappointing. We ordered a dish to share and it was all bones no meat at all and it was inedible. The bill was $75 and when we asked for a dish that we could actually eat we were told we would have to pay for the new dish. We ended up paying leaving and going to get fast food.
