The ambience was really pleasant great lighting and a comfortable vibe that makes it a good place to relax and enjoy a meal. I only ordered a starter this time: goat meat pepper soup. I originally wanted the catfish pepper soup, but they were out of it. The goat meat pepper soup had great flavor, but it was very spicy so spicy it felt like my tongue was about to fall off! If you enjoy a lot of heat, you'll probably love it. The service was good, and my drink was nice as well. Even though the pepper soup packed a serious punch, I still enjoyed the overall atmosphere and experience. Looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu.

I personally hate calling people for favors to get in to places, because I feel like I shouldn't have to put in so much effort or get others involved in my plans, so definitely put a sour taste in my mouth. However, Group bookings seem to be more promising, which makes sense as that automatically brings in more revenue. Seems like a lot of trendy NYC restaurants are like this though. Being from LA, I am able to get a reservation at any restaurant I want to go to with at least 3 weeks advance notice (even n/Naka which is notoriously hard to book), but in NYC, snagging a reservation at a popular place is a royal pain in the backside. Makes it hard for an out of towner like me to plan a proper itinerary...
