I went in for a haircut and hot stone pedicure. Very pleased with haircut, Cora was awesome, love my hair. Disappointed in my hot stone pedicure though, which is what I was really looking forward to. The main issue was the seating it's a half moon bench, not really very comfortable at all so that made it hard to relax and hard for the technician to do her job it's a weird set up it looks beautiful but not practical or comfortable at all. Not a fan. If your going for a plain pedicure it might be fine but not worth any upgrade services. read more

I think I speak for everyone when I say, please bring the robes/sandals back! It really does take away from the spa experience. The relaxation room after a massage loses its appeal when you have to go put your street clothes back on and get ready, first. Also, it was my first time here and I was surprised/disappointed that there was no staff to welcome me, check me in, or show me around. I was disappointed with my last massage. Robes are no longer provided to massage clients, which both takes away from the experience and eats up your massage time by having to change in the room. Lisa provided a good massage but when I asked her to add more pressure, I barely got any more. I don't feel like I got what I paid for as there was little massaging; Lisa's technique includes pushing with forearm / hand resting on an area with little movement. The check-out process was also awkward. Lisa walked me out of the massage room holding a mobile credit card reader. Does Azana expect me to have payment with me, on my body, at that time? It felt like I was being rushed out. Previously they had the check-out process downstairs, near the entrance which made it feel like you could take a little bit of time to relax after your treatment - either take a shower or sit in the relaxation room. read more

I received a Gift Certificate for my birthday last year for Azana Salon & Spa in Brookfield I printed it off and kept it for a special occasion. I finally thought I was going to get to use it today- however they told me it was expired. it was purchased on 1/10/21. There was faded fine print blended into the Certificate Photo and it was unreadable unless you looked very closely! They refused to honor it at all! I spoke with the manager. I can't say enough about my massage with Susan (Quantum Energy at Azana) is like an angel sent from heaven!! Not only did she make me feel comfortable but she truly cared about my services. The massage was magical and her good healing energy takes it to the next level. My husband said after I got home, wow your shoulders aren't hard as bricks!! I really liked the stylist, but please don't make the same mistake I made. I went in thinking that a cut and highlight would be about $150 as stated on their website. I ended up paying an extra $100 (not including the tip) !!! This was because "STARTING AT" was in front of it and I guess the stylists can price however they would like, but there is no way to know ahead of time what that is. It isn't listed anywhere (so please ask!). They also used an extra product (to bring down my highlights color, and that was something I didn't even ask for) on my hair and didn't know there was an extra charge for that until the end, too. I was told that my gift card of $75 had expired. There is nothing printed on the gift card stating this but apparently it is on the website. I treated myself to a facial and massage for my birthday. I had never been to this business before. I selected it because it is near my home. I looked at the services and prices online and thought they were pretty typical for the area. They have you change into a robe and slippers. I was so happy that the robes came in a variety of sizes. I am plus sized so I did have some anxiety. Thankfully there was no need to worry. My massage was done by Brooke-very professional and knowledgeable. I feel sad that I even have to write this review because the facial I received a few months ago was great. The employee was super sweet and I loved her. Enough where I made a second appointment for tomorrow, 02-09-23. Unfortunately I had to cancel, and I know they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. So today I called to cancel my appointment and reschedule it. When I spoke to the front desk she said there was a mistake in my appointment had actually been scheduled for today. I informed them that there was no way that was correct because I scheduled it for tomorrow. I asked if there would be an issue with canceling the appointment and she stated there would not be and she would cancel it for me. A few hours later I received a notice from my bank that they charged my card for the service. I called back asking why they charge my card when they stated they will take care of it and it would be fine, she stated she said it would be fine because she can remove it from the schedule. Not that that they would not charge me the cancellation fee. I asked why she didn't inform me she would still have to charge me a cancellation fee to be up front... and she didn't have an answer. Even when I explained that multiple times that I had actually booked appointment for tomorrow they would not admit that their employee had made a mistake, and stated there was nothing they could do. I had to open a fraud for the charge, had to get a new credit card because I don't trust them to have my information on file, and had to file a report with the Better Business Bureau. I'm sure they will respond to this review stating that they have a 24 hour cancellation policy posted. If I was canceling within the 24 hours I would completely understand and I would not be making this review. However, I canceled my appointment way over 24 hours in advance for the appointment that I had scheduled. But due to an employee mistake of being booked incorrectly they still took the fee. I absolutely would not trust this business especially with having a card on file. Who knows how often this happens when employee makes a mistake with booking and the customer is on the hook because of it. I understand employees make mistakes and it's not a big deal. I had an exceptionally skilled and professionally primped back wax by Reece. It was actually quite painless with very minimal discomfort. My back was smooth as silk to the touch without any redness or irritation. My 60 minute full body massages with Lisa have been reinvigorating. Her experience and knowledge of the human anatomy makes her excel beyond belief at relieving tension and stress everywhere she finds it. Before every appointment she checks in with me for any aches n pains I need special attention with. In a soft calming voice, Lisa's always courteous, pleasant and in a zenful mood at every appointment. Got burned on eye brow waxing. They would not take responsibility for the incident and said that I probably was on an acne medication (not the case). I have had my brows waxed many a times elsewhere, before and after this incident, so I know that it was not my fault. I liked my hair dresser and continued to use the salon for her, but I was frustrated that every time I had an appointment with there, there was a note saying this client is on acne medication. That's a false accusation. I eventually got fed up with that and the increase of prices and stopped going here. I did not have a good experience here with the stylist Allie . It's expensive and I felt some of the staff was not professional or had a lot of experience. My advice is to research your stylist. Look for some after pics and see their quality of work. I was desperate and took first available appointment for a highlight. I hate my hair and it's not what I wanted. I had to go back and have an area that was not done correctly fixed. I had a fresh highlight and in the bangs area it looked like I had 2 months of outgrowth. It was the first thing you saw when you looked at me. I attached a pic of right after I had the highlight. After I had another stylist fix the bangs she made them so blonde my hair looked grey. I had a couple people ask me if my hair was grey!!!!!I spent $140 and am not happy. I can't tell you how down hill this place has gone in the past 5 years. My sisters and my mom used to frequent Azana for hair and massages and facials and some waxing. I notice there isn't the same people working doing facials anymore. I think they are always brand new people and it's not worth the money. There is another weird business making cake/pudding cups that are for sale on the first floor. I asked where they get made and was told in house. I wanted to throw up thinking there would be hair clippings or people touching toes and then making these strange desserts. Weirdest thing I have ever seen in a salon. While my mom has always seen the same girl for her hair and always looks great, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on anything else. There are far nicer places that seem to retain their employees. The facialists seem very untrained and there are many places that offer so much more to get done like microblading, lash lifts and so much more. The nails are way to expensive for me to get done. My sister goes once in awhile and she wishes it was a true spa nail and pedicure appointment for the price she has paid. It's gone way down since it had that crime there. Almost like no one can stay working there. But we still try to support local businesses. I think we will go elsewhere from now on. And no, I would never eat one of those desserts because it sounds so gross that they make them there. read more

I will preface by stating I really did not want to write this review. In fact, I waited 16 days for Azana Salon and Spa to return 2 of my voicemails. Here is what happened-I went in, in March and I liked the toning and lowlighting but wanted the roots light. I understood when the stylist told me I could have that done next time (something about my hair not being at a certain stage). So, I went back in May and had a gorgeous color and lowlight by the salon manager. I asked her "will I be ready for the bayalage next month?" She replied yes. I called the next month and told the receptionist I wanted the same thing as the previous month because it was gorgeous but wanted the lowlights even darker. SO, I go to the salon and I do not have the same stylist. Instead, the stylist was asking me what the other artist did the prior month as far as techniques go and I honestly could not relay that info to her as hair coloring is not my area of study (i.e. were my roots touched up at the bowl?) I automatically felt uncomfortable and had a bad feeling I was not going to get the same or similar color as the last time. I noticed my hair looking light, bleach blonde light (which is what i wanted to AVOID-eeeeek!) So, I nervously asked if it would be darker once she was done and she replied "yes". So, yah, I get back to the mirror from the rinsing bowl and my hair is bleached with NO lowlights. At that point I was pretty shocked and instead of a relaxing spa experience during a bad week, I received a very unfortunate stressful spa experience. I wanted to believe in the salon and I was a 3 time repeat customer. However, after not having my calls returned I feel I dont have any other option but to find a different salon that understands the importance of how one's hair can make them feel. I have been going to azana salon for over 4 years. I travel in and out of state for work now but the only person I trust in America to wax me is SJ! I have been getting Brazilians and bikini waxes done forever by her. She also was the very first person do ever do a wax on me! If your looking to get your first wax EVER or just to find someone good in the local area to switch to. I HIGHLY recommend her. The many reason(s) I love SJ and her services she provides is for MANY reasons. She has always been friendly, personable, and makes me forget about what I'm even having waxed. She does a great job, she does exactly what I ask for, she doesn't make it painful or drag out ripping the hair from the skin (like most chop shop waxing businesses - EUROPEAN wax center is horrific!) I know sometimes getting waxed can be uncomfortable, embarrassing, or even down right painful (depending on what your having done) but I always find myself laughing my way out the door. SJ feels more like my hairdresser then my "friendly neighborhood wax esthetician" she always remembers our conversations from where we left off! :) I know the salon has services such as hair and nails downstairs, but SO many people don't know about the services going on upstairs! I was given a gift card last year but due to the pandemic was not able to use it until now. I called this salon a few months prior to my appointment asking questions about my gift certificate, they told me it is good for 5 years. When I finally got to use it they told me the gift card was expired. I was given excuses that it was their computer system "sucks" and it was marking it as expired because they just updated their gift card policy. I had to pay almost $300 for the services out of pocket, and was told by Tay that they will refund the money and to contact the owner Tami. My husband and I contacted the salon the next day and was told the manager would contact us that same day, we waited and we never got a call. Called two days later and was told the same thing that someone will contact us again before noon, I called again at 3pm and they said another manager will speak with us. I still have not gotten a phone call from the owner or any of these "managers." I'm still waiting for a call from the owner and still waiting for my full refund. My recent hair cut was from here. A man, in a salon like this? Surely you jest! Kind of funny because when I walked in for my appointment, the receptionist said "What kind of gift certificate can I get you today?" LOL "Actually, I'm here to get my hair done." The reason I made the appointment and came here was because I needed my hair done that day and I was out of options, and previous to this appointment i was waiting at "The Mens Hair House" in waukesha when I noticed "stylists" walking in late and apparently hungover from the night before or like they had just been beaten by their trailer park boyfriends. No way i'm letting anyone like that touch my hair. So i'll gladly pay double to get my hair done from now on at Azana. It's also down the street from my house so that is a major plus. read more

Don't get your makeup done here for a wedding!! The makeup selection is very limited!! The girl who did my make up and the maid of honor was terrible!! We both tried to direct her to fix the extremely dark makeup she put on and she seemed to get annoyed that we wanted something differently from what she was doing. When she got mascara on my upper eye lid, she licked her finger and then rubbed it off my eye! Extremely unprofessional. My hair looked good but they upcharged me $20 for a braid without telling me. Every bridesmaid had some sort of braid and no one else was charged more for theirs. I just couldn't believe how unprofessional a salon of their caliber was especially to a bridal party of 10 people who spent hundreds of dollars for a wedding. read more

I've only been to Azana once, but my day there was really wonderful. I see that other reviews say the staff is cold but I didn't experience that in my visit. All of the front-of-house staff was really polite and explained their establishment to me really clearly and kindly. I honestly felt like I was taken care of very well, so much so I took note of it. I came in for two services: a manicure and a massage. The woman who did my nails really did a thorough and lovely job. I was having trouble deciding on colors for my french manicure and she tested them on her own nails to let me know what they'd look like. No nail tech has ever done that for me before so I thought that was really kind of her. Loved the way my nails came out and the color lasted for so long and barely chipped. The massage was even better. I did think it was a bit weird that if you're coming for a massage they give you a robe to wear and sandals so you can lock your belongings in a locker in their changing room, but afterwards I realized that it was awesome and it gives you that time to relax and recover before and after your massage. I really liked this aspect of their experience. Also, my message therapist was really amazing, knowledgeable and thorough. I've had to see a lot of therapists over the last three years due to a string of back problems I have and the woman who worked on me at Azana was definitely one of the best I've encountered. I will absolutely recommend her to anyone and I plan to go back soon. I will echo the sentiments of other reviews that the prices are a bit high here, but it seemed worth it to me for the experience I had. I hope to visit Azana again soon. read more

I had an aromatherapy w/deep tissue massage with Mary. She was awesome. I was extremely comfortable: the room was a nice temperature, warm bed, private, the essential oils were divine, and Mary's pressure was perfect. I don't always talk during massages, but felt like it today so we had very friendly and easy small talk. She was wonderful. I'd definitely see her again! The spa itself is much more high end than I've ever been to for a massage before. First time there was a private locker room, showers, relaxation room, and robes. It was definitely classy and was a nice way to feel pampered. Receptionists were also very helpful and polite. I too used a spa finder gift card, otherwise the massage I had would have been $95. Maybe out of some price ranges (would usually be out of mine) but definitely worth it! read more

Just got a couple's massage for the husband's birthday. $175 got us time in a relaxation room (dimly lighted, with soothing classical music playing, and stocked with water, tea, and a nut mixture). We were also given lockers with robes that we could change into (and sandals), and after a few minutes in the relaxation room, we were escorted by Laura and Katie. Both masseuses applied ample pressure on our necks and shoulders (places where we both hold a lot of tension), and the 60 minutes went by quickly. (Isn't that always how it goes?). The facility was clean, welcoming, and the massage was reasonably priced. (Even more so because they accept spafinder gift cards, and I happened to have one). Really disappointed with the services I received. I went in for color and trim and the girl ended up cutting off 4 inches and it was a whole inch uneven on the other side. The cut I got was ok. The facility is ok. The chairs they use to wash your hair were terrible. It made the whole experience torturous instead of relaxing. It felt like my neck was being bruised and I was wincing in pain the entire time. The stylist put a towel there to cushion it but it was still very painful. I'm not being a picky customer and exaggerating. I'm surprised anyone would go back after that. They did control the # of ppl coming in by asking you to call from the parking lot before coming in. That's why I initially booked the appointment. I heard they were using safety precautions. The stylist wore masks but the clients do not have to. My stylist asked me to remove my mask before cutting my hair. If they were more cautious about spreading covid (by asking clients to wear masks in the waiting area and while there) replaced the outdated chairs (torture devices) and/or wash basins I'd consider going back. read more

I went here for my first facial. The spa is located on the second floor while the salon is on the first. The spa floor is tranquil and nicely lit. The facialist went through the steps of the facial as we approached them. She was extremely gentle and did the extractions painlessly as well. I've been here on a few occasions, usually after I receive a gift card as I don't go out of my way to spend my money here. They are expensive and the staff is unfriendly. I've had my hair cut and colored and I have also had a massage and both times the result was OK but the staff is cold and unpersonable and when you are spending hours there that is a huge turn off.
