They completed a full scan and photographing of the property to provide the best quality report. The engineer was super knowledgeable and happy to explain any issues he noticed while working through the assessment. I then met with staff to discuss the report and answer any remaining questions. And all in 1 1/2 weeks from start to finish! Highly recommend them for any future projects!

Editing to add actual dates to the events described…read more I will update this rating if we ever get our final report, but the bottom line is we've been waiting close to eight weeks now to get a diagnosis and recommendation on how to resolve the front room of our house, which is apparently breaking off the rest of the house. Longer story: I was excited to work with Bitarchitects - they have great reviews, I appreciate that they are woman-owned, and in our initial conversations, they were so responsive and confident that they had all the necessary in-house expertise to figure out what was happening in the house we just bought. The structural engineer seemed great during the inspection on 9 July - spent lots of time at the house, took all the measurements, answered all my questions. We chatted about the fact that there is this crawl space under the front room that doesn't have an access panel, so you can't get underneath to inspect the stem walls. He told me he would have the report to me in a week. Six weeks later (18 August), we got the report. And the report said. . .we can't diagnose the problem without access to the crawl space under the front room. So question the first - WHY would that conclusion take six weeks? When it was known at the time of their visit? (It was actually known before that - the home inspector had included it in his report, which we had sent Bitarchitects in advance of their visit.) But okay, they said they could send someone out to create an access door to the crawl space, take some pictures, and then we would get a completed report. So that happened a week ago (28 August), and we've heard nothing. Almost eight weeks now since the inspection, meanwhile there are new cracks appearing in the floors and walls. Communication overall has been extremely frustrating. While assuring us that the (first) report was imminent, I was told several times "don't worry, your house is not falling down, you're not in danger." Which is great of course, but doesn't remotely address our concerns. I get answers to maybe 50% of the questions I ask (fairly reasonable questions, like "will cutting a door in our foundation create structural instability down the road?"), if fact, the only time they respond quickly is when they are asking for payment. I am so so disappointed and frustrated at this point, I don't even know what to do.

The photos speak for themselves--and I promise the bathroom is even more beautiful in person! It has truly been a pleasure working with Azzam and his crew. Azzam is extremely fair and reasonable with his pricing, and most importantly, he always comes through for us. He genuinely cares about getting the job done right and making sure you're happy with the finished product. I've worked with multiple contractors over the past year on all different types of projects as part of our entire home renovation, and I've enjoyed working with Azzam and Triple J Consulting the most. I really appreciate the pride he takes in his work, the value he provides, and the effort he puts into making sure his clients are genuinely happy with the end result.

The owner, Azzam, was great: Highly knowledgeable, very informative, clearly experienced, and balanced in his evaluations of things that were of concern, versus those that weren't. He gave us some valuable recommendations for things to do to double-check going forward that a foundation crack is not a posing a structural risk. In a room that had some unevenness to it that looked like the building could be sagging, he could see that, no, there was a small bulge in the floor due to uneven support beneath it when it was installed. We called with a follow-up question relating to something unexpected a contractor was doing, and he gave us an incredibly helpful second opinion. It was great dealing with him, he was highly professional, and we'd strongly recommend him.

He was very thorough with his inspections and went over some general maintenance recommendations for items that were not an issue for the inspection but are important for the longevity of the home. He was always willing to answer my questions with advice and was not afraid to admit where I should consult a different expert. Most importantly, he did not try and sell me on any of his other services even when I asked if he would recommend taking further action on the home. He commented that it was self-serving and did not want to make a quick dollar that way. I would use Kemp Home Inspections again without a hesitation.

They spent little time in the basement (9 min) only taking measurements with a level. Without writing anything down or providing very little engineering justification, they recommended an extreme amount of work. They recommended multiple forms of reinforcement costing a large sum without providing justification. A simple google search reveals their recommendations were the common one in the industry. This lead me to believe they just said what they needed to cover themselves. When asked for more guidance and drawings on what needs to be done, they got nearly hostile and told me that we the job of the contractors. When we provided their written report to the contractors, contractors told us it was useless, and we needed to hire a new structural engineer. They also said some of the recommendations were not possible in our basement. We think they may have just copy and pasted from a previous report they wrote. I think they used to be good because they had great reviews online. They also picked up the phone quickly. However, I highly discourage hiring them.
