The Long: I've been coming specifically for laser hair removal with Nick for 6 months. I've visited both the Phipps and Colony Square locations. The communication is excellent in preparation for appointments even when they have emergencies and need to reschedule. The locations are well positioned in both shopping areas. The space is modern without being sterile. And of course, the upkeep is immaculate and clean. Nick is incredible! He makes me feel so at ease while he works quickly during what could be a very awkward sessions (hello Brazilian! Lol). He is so professional and it becomes obvious very quickly that his knowledge base is tremendous. This was super reassuring as I asked questions about laser specifically on my brown skin. This review is for the open house held on Thursday, April 11, 2019. I received an email invite to AYA Medical Spa's open house at Phipps which was a nice event. The medical specializes in everything from facial peels, fillers, and hair removal. The menu is extensive with standard prices for all services. They also have many options of for the same things. For example, they have a custom peel as well as various peels from less to more intense ($100-400) to treat various concerns. I also appreciated that staff were all knowledgeable about different skin concerns and the appropriate treatment without the feeling of them trying to upsell you. The event itself was lovely. Many staff members were available to answer questions and book appointments. There was a nice tote bag of cleansers and products carried in the store for those on the rsvp list. Champagne and assortment of treats were provided. The shop is also really clean and the rooms feel bright and airy. Waiting room is also well decorated and comfortable. I really wanted to get a chemical peel, but I didn't know where to go. Inspired by a successful review by a customer with a darker skin tone, I decided to book a consultation at AYA. During my consultation, my skin was never touched or really looked at. No one asked questions about the history of my skin or what I was trying to achieve. Instead, I was given information about the chemical peel and the a few other services that they offer. Through our conversation, I didn't feel the most confident in the info I was being provided, but I went ahead and booked it. On the day of my peel, I was surprised and slightly disappointed to see that the woman who gave me the info was also the one administering my peel. It may sound silly, but I was thinking someone else would do it. That was my fault for not asking more questions. The process took about 15 minutes, and I was out the door. Over 5-6 days, my faced peeled, but I didn't really get the results that I'd hope for. However, that could be attributed to my skin and how it reacted. This is a beautiful spa in a beautiful area. I didn't have the best experience, nor did I receive the best results, but it's worth a visit if you're looking for medical skincare services. Just be sure to ask plenty of questions, and speak up if you don't understand something. read more

Speaking on behalf of facials only; I discovered Aya through Yelp and being brand new to Atlanta it's very scary to find a new aesthetician. Over the weekend I went into Aya in Phillip's Mall and had Vivia as my aesthetician. Vivia was super sweet, nice, and gentle throughout the facial. I got dermal infusion Vitamin C hydrating. Not only was the facial easy and painless, but I noticed my skin glowing pretty much IMMEDIATELY following the facial. This was my first facial - and it was horrible. I arrived on time. , waited a few mins before my esthetician. Got into this small room - talked for a few mins - again this is my first facial so I'm not sure which one I should choose - she suggested the dermi facial (I think that's the name ). She told me to give her a few mins cause she was new here but not new to the industry (red flag ). So she went and got me a consent form. - She then examined my face and I told her I wanted extraction done. So she said give her a few mins she gotta get the machine - and a new consent form. So I waited .. she cleansed my face and wrap a like warm towel. ( more like cold) .. which she said it's not as hot as she wants it (red flag ). Proceed to do extraction with this machine. - she was all over the place. No coordination- just left right up down - There was no flow. I felt like she was rushing thru it because we wasted so much time. Signing consent forms And grabbing machine. I was truly upset. I could of wash and pick on my face myself. 35 mins facial. 30 min check in and consultation... $225. - DIAMOND GLO. believe me it's not the money. I pay for experience and this experience here was not worth it - During check out. The ask me how was my experience- I said. It's located in Phipps, so yes, you can get a facial, see a movie and shop for a pair of Jimmy Choos all on the same visit.
