Great spot to stop by while in downtown Blue Ridge. They have just a few lanes and they are not very spaced out so at first I was a bit concerned. In terms of safety but it was just us. I wouldn't feel safe playing when this place is crowded. It would be traumatic more than therapeutic. Although they offered beers / wine, they only had one option on tap available. The staff was just one guy collecting payment, showing you how to operate the score board and how to throw the axe, as well as serving drinks. read more

My group and I came here on a Saturday night. We were on two lanes. It wasn't many people there so we were able to walk in and get open lanes. We paid Before we played. Most of time we were here the projection was shaking due to the HVAC being on. The wasn't a bar because a license had not be secured yet as I was told. Only non alcohol drinks were available. Before the game began, I lifted up the Amazon tablet that was being used to record the score as it wad pointing down and we could not see the screen and a small plastic piece broke. However, the worker was able to place the tablet back on a screw. My crew and I played for an hour. After we played a worker asked to speak to me and informed me that I owed $52 for the plastic piece that was broken. She said she called her owner and that's the price she was given. I was not given an invoice, a print out or anything of the sorts. Just a price. I paid the amount to not cause a scene. However, it is very unprofessional to charge a customer for something without an invoice to show an actual price or to at least get a call from the owner. We were very disappointed with this situation and will not return to this establishment. read more

My family was visiting Blue Ridge for a short visit, on the way home from a funeral. This was a highlight of the visit. My daughter and I threw axes while my wife watched. The staff was very helpful and after our hour was up, showed my daughter a few tips on throwing. My daughter was able to get the hang of it and lost all of her frustration. We were the last ones there and she took the time to talk with us. Very personable. I did get a little sticker shock, but I understand that the prices are in line with other ax throwing places. Came here on a busy Black Friday afternoon to throw axes with family. The staff was very helpful to get our lane set up for an hour together. I'm sure on any other day it wouldn't be as busy but Black Friday was a very busy day in Blue Ridge as well as at the axe therapy. Most or all of us had thrown axes before so we got the quick version of the safety brief for our time. After having been to a few locations before this one was a little different. I personally felt like the drink/food tables were a little close to the throwing lanes but maybe that's just me with my long arms. Great family fun though! You are able to order pizza from the (delicious) pizza joint downstairs and beer and craft sodas in the axe place. I love that the projector from above can change how your targets are. Makes it fun and I'm sure it changes through holidays for new targets. Would be cool to see different size axes than just the small one handed ones to use. Recommended to check out if you are looking for fun in the middle of shopping. read more

My first time throwing axe and it was more fun than I expected! This place is very clean and very much a fun place for big groups. I was here with my boyfriend on valentines week and it was still fun just the two of us. You can either use one of their many targets of customize your own target with a picture on your phone. I am very disappointed in this business. I initially was very excited about this addition to the area and thought that it would be a great place to bring my family to but now I find them to be unreasonable and have the poorest of customer service. I realize that they are a business and need to earn a profit. I also get that times are hard. But screwing people over is not the way to have a successful business. In March my husband and I were heading down the street downtown,we had just had dinner and were planning to bring our whole family back at the end of May. We saw this business and thought it would be a great place to bring them to on that trip. We decided to go in and inquire as we had no idea how it operated or what it offered. When I got inside I made contact with a young lady and a young man both in their 20's. Both were friendly and even said that my dog could come inside who was waiting outside with my husband. So my husband, my dog and I are now inside and the two employees are enthusiastically playing with my dog who is loving the attention. Meanwhile I am asking questions and feeling very positive about this interaction so much so that I ask the young lady about making a reservation and how it works. The young lady is still playing with my dog at this time which is fine and she tells me that I have to put down a deposit to reserve the lane for the time and date that I wanted. Here is the important part, I specifically asked her if my plans changed would I be able to get my money back and was promptly told Yes, just let us know. At no time was I told that I would receive my money in the form of a Gift Card. I knew that I was booking far in advance as we were still in the planning stages of this trip with our family but based on the information I had I felt comfortable making this reservation and putting down the $214 because according to what I was just told, I could receive my money back. At this time I told the girl I would make the reservation so she stopped playing with my dog and moved behind the counter to the computer. It should be noted that there were no signs or written notification as to the NO REFUND policy. Nothing was given to me to read or to sign to notify me of this policy PRIOR to entering into the agreement, giving them my credit card and paying the deposit to secure the reservation. Well I'm sure we all know where this is going, our plans changed and I needed to cancel my reservation. I emailed the company who was happy to cancel the reservation but refused to give the money back citing a policy that I had never heard of. As of today several emails have gone back and forth with a request by me to speak to someone in person which has yet to be honored. This company has stated repeatedly that this has been their policy since inception which I have no problem with. The problem I have is that you MUST make sure potential customers are aware of the policy BEFORE they enter into an agreement with you. If someone were to make a reservation online they SHOULD be aware of the policy as it is located on their website. However in my case I made the reservation in person. I was told more than once that the employees are trained to inform customers of this policy. I believe that, but training someone to do something does not ensure that they will always do it that way nor does it PROVE that they actually did do it. In my case the young lady was more than likely distracted playing with the dog and we were all having a happy, friendly exchange and I believe that she just did not remember to say that refunds come ONLY in the form of gift cards. If the business truly wanted to make someone aware of this policy they would place a sign by the register stating this policy plainly to customers or they would have them sign an agreement prior to taking their money giving them something to fall back on in case there is an issue with a customer saying they were unaware. In my case they are taking their employees word that she notified us versus mine and my husband's word that we were not notified. They cannot prove that we were notified and they do not seem to care whether or not their business practices are honorable. I am not mistaken when I say that their employee did not make it known that a refund would only come in the form of a gift card. If she had made that statement I would have never made the agreement and paid the deposit as that would not have been acceptable to me. I am not a careless person in my business agreements and very much pay attention to terms and fine print if I hear or see them. As I stated earlier I have ZERO problem with their policy my issue is their lack of making sure that customers are aware of this before engaging in business with them and then the way they handled this after it has been demonstrated that their practices could stand some tweaking. read more

I booked this online and by mistake booked in the Marrietta location instead of the Blue Ridge location. I tried to contact them several times to change this, and even spoke to the worker at Blue Ridge who said he would let the owners know what happened. Noone ever got back to me. This is just bad business practice. I would never go there again. read more
