Our group was 20 minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances, but the company website advertises a 90-minute experience. If you add the 20 minutes lost plus getting a 30 minute show, that doesn't even add up to 60 minutes of the chef's time. Where are the extra 40 minutes? We requested additional proteins to meet the minimum spend because at the base price, we would have only reached $250 of our minimum $450 (again, we only had 5 people) and he messed that up. 4 people ordered 4 proteins each and 1 person had 3. During dinner, at least 2 people got 3 proteins each. When I went to pay the remaining gratuity with Zelle (we traveled from out of town and didn't bring enough cash), the chef didn't want want to give me a name for Zelle, only a phone number. Anyone who has ever used Zelle knows that both a name AND number are required for fraud prevention. He finally gave me the name and insisted that I pay the full 20% gratuity. I honestly felt both pressured and profiled. And just in case the business decides to talk poorly about me, keep in mind that I never complained, talked back, or gave anyone an attitude. I paid what was owed PLUS 20% gratuity for a less than stellar experience and the dinner left everyone with a sour taste in their mouth. We were all quiet as he packed up to leave and later, my friends asked if I was okay and if he was catching an attitude with me. If I could get a refund, I would. I would never in a million years recommend this company. I would say you get what you pay for but you don't even get that, apparently. Very rough ending to what was otherwise a great weekend in AZ.

We had used them previously and had a great experience, which makes this situation even more disappointing. This time was an absolute disaster. The grill operator could not get the grill lit for over an hour and a half. As a result, the food was almost TWO HOURS late. Most of our guests ended up leaving without ever eating. Imagine hosting a graduation party for 75 people and having almost no food available during the actual event. To make matters worse, when we politely asked for updates, the man cooking became rude and dismissive. His response was essentially, "I'm stressed." Well, so were we -- we were trying to host dozens of hungry guests while watching the entire event fall apart. At the end of the night, no apology, refund, or meaningful attempt to make things right was offered. We were simply told to "call Monday." After following up, the best they offered was $100 back for a completely ruined catering experience. This was beyond unacceptable. The food delay, poor communication, rude attitude, and lack of accountability completely ruined an important once-in-a-lifetime celebration for our family. I would never use them again and strongly caution others before trusting them to cater an important event.

The meat was tender, tortillas fresh, spicy sauces, plenty of fixings for the tacos and some of the best Spanish rice I've tasted. The variety of delectable food items made our mouths water and the taste is like nothing we've ever had before! Every hors d'oeuvre and entree we sampled had outstanding flavor and was displayed beautifully, even as a buffet. The vegetables were fresh and cooked just right, and the tortilla and parmesan crusted chicken breast was to die for! Our guests are STILL texting me saying how much they loved the food we had at the wedding! Not only was the food delicious, but Santa Barbara Catering's service and attention to detail was second to none. Our tables, linens and decor were laid out exactly as I envisioned. The beautiful colored napkins and fruitwood chairs really classed up our event and made the reception all the more gorgeous. Nobody was ever without food or drink in hand thanks to the fabulous wait staff who was working our event. There was even a gentleman who came all the way out to where we were taking photos with our photographers (which was a several minute walk from the reception) just to bring my groom and I water and hors d'oeuvres to make sure we weren't getting faint or too hungry to continue. We had the most beautiful, delicious dinner we could possibly have hoped for and we cannot recommend Artisan by Santa Barbara Catering Company enough! If you're having an upcoming event, you'd be making a huge mistake by not hiring this company!

When we found out about them we went to one of their open houses (they partner with a venue space called the Cottage, which is ADORABLE... my husband and I both said if we didn't already have our venue we would have picked there). The food was SO good. And after reviewing the packages, for our budget and guest count it just made sense. We had a unique (well, least I think so) menu: we did brunch for dinner! Dina met with me herself and came up with fun unique ways to have a fun menu but also accounted for those with very strict dietary restrictions. Now, I will say... the star of the show... was their Italian mac and cheese. I... drool... thinking of it. I don't want to say it, but trying that sealed the deal for me, haha. It's heavenly. Perfection. They did a water station for our ceremony, and our cocktail hour charcuterie board and bruchetta. Which was STUNNING and so delicious. Our dinner was flawless... our guests were all fed quickly, and there was plenty of food for everyone. For dinner we had pear and arugula salad, Italian meatballs, a waffle bar, fruit, breakfast tacos (meat and veggie options), and that dreamy Italian Mac and Cheese. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend them for your event!!

Z Catering did a wonderful job of catering for the graduation party. Dina was amazing from first contact to the delivery and set up of the food. The communication was prompt and quite helpful. The graduates selected the food items and I took care of the coordination. The food selections were Brie-apple-honey bruschetta. Tequila lime shrimp skewers, and BBQ chicken skewers. All the choices were truly enjoyed by the party guests, with the shrimp being the overwhelming favorite. I would definitely recommend Z Catering and told some of the guests who I found for my task. I am new to the game of coordinating caterers so I could have not been more satisfied with how simple the task was and with how things turned out.

Dust on large mirror leaning against the wall, they told her to keep the dress hanging there. It rained... ceiling has multiple leaks! They brought out Home Depot buckets on tables where guest were standing during cocktail hour. No towels/ no fans/ 1 mop/ 1 broom. Water and mud all over the floors, with no way to clean it up. The tent/ reception. The staff were not helpful at all. The bride, my cousin and her husband had their sweetheart table flooded. My poor cousin's feet were soaked when she tried to sit down at her table to eat dinner. My Uncle, bride's father, kept asking staff to help mop up the floor so guest would not slip. He was pissed since he had to keep trying to find somebody who could actually help. They did not even bring out towels and said they had no more mops to help clean up the puddles. I don't know if they're used to hiring young kids who aren't trained outside of serving food, set up and teardown... Just make sure you have a wedding coordinator to help make everything go smoothly. Staff did not help with anything. Staff shrugged and said let me ask. No towels, fans, blow dryers, then ceiling had multiple leaks, one old bathroom, where all the guests were in the same room as the couple taking their pictures during cocktail hour. 5 stars if Gerardo is your day of coordinator!!!…read more First things first - this venue is so beautiful and perfect. There are 2 sides & we chose the side with the red brick reception area and it truly was perfect. When we initially toured the venue we worked with Katie and then all of our subsequent planning meetings were with her up until our very last meeting 10 days prior to the venue. She is very knowledgable, but can be impatient and a bit snappy at times, especially if you ask questions or don't quite understand what she means the first time she says it. My husband and I felt this was somewhat off-putting, but rolled with it anyways because what are you gonna do? Our final meeting 10 days before the wedding we worked with the 1st person outside of Katie, and it was Gerardo. Gerardo is INCREDIBLE. He was patient, kind, and really went the extra mile to ensure we not only understood all of the moving parts but also felt comfortable and excited about the most special day of our lives. We asked him if he could be our day of coordinator and he arranged it so we actually worked with him at both our rehearsal and our wedding day. He is the reason this review is 5 stars. On the day of our wedding we had an issue with the arch we had rented and when he came to tell me about it he already had a solution so all I had to do was OK the course correction instead of problem solve a stressful situation on my wedding day. Our banquet captain was also incredible (I can't remember her name but we connected over Fourth Wing the book - she'll know who she is!) and really took care of us after Gerardo left. We also utilized the DJ and bartender provided by the venue. Our DJ was great, but our bartender was super drunk and taking shots in front of my guests when he should have been serving them. Probably something the venue could look into to prevent the next couple/guests from having to deal with that. All in all, the day was more beautiful and fun than I could have ever imagined, and I am really thankful we were able to work with Gerardo and our amazing banquet captain because they really went above and beyond!
