5***** for Lindsey! Came to AWAY after walking by MANY times and having the rose gold aluminum suit case catch my eye. I was set on a silver aluminum TUMI but I had such a bad experience at the TUMI Santana Row location that I decided not to buy a carry on with them and I'm glad it did! I was welcomed as soon as I walked in by Lindsey and the rest of the staff. The store and clean and all the associates are very knowledgeable about the products. I walked away with the bigger rose gold carry on and even got the tag stamped in rose gold with my initials! The AWAY warranty can't be beat either! I'm always impressed with AWAY's customer service--both online and especially during my recent visit in store. Wanted to write this review specifically for that! I was debating on which bag to get to use as my personal. I was back and forth after comparing their products online. But I'm so glad I came in to get some advice. Shoutout to Jovani (forgive me if name is misspelt)! He was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. Because of that I was able to come to a definite decision with ease. Adding the Everywhere bag to my collection and can't wait to use it on my next trip. I definitely prefer this location to the SF one. It's closer, bigger, and much easier to find parking. Interior is very bright, clean, and minimal. All the employees are very helpful and welcoming. Definitely stop by if you get the chance. I know their prices are steep, but the quality is worth every penny. My carry-on luggage has accumulated a lot of mileage and it still feels new. If you're debating on a brand, team AWAY all the way! read more

November 4, 2024 - It was time to purchase a slightly smaller Away suitcase or two. We called ahead and confirmed the hours and headed there... Once there we were greeted by Andy. He confirmed that the color we already had had been discontinued and proceeded to show us all the current offerings. He was pleasant and easy to deal with which selected a suitcase, completed a purchase and on our way. We ordered a second one of the same size, color and style...it would be about a week before it arrived and we would be getting a call... If I remember to, I will follow up this review with how that process worked out. We never got a call, so this review dropped from a 5 to a 4. We found out it had arrived at the store on Friday. Andy said it was a real busy weekend. Ok, what about calling this AM? We leave tonight for vacation. On the bright side, as soon as we walked in, we were recognized. Andy even remembered we ordered another suitcase. He asked for our last name and brought it out promptly. Our whole time in the store was less than five minutes. November 22, 2024 and we got back from vacationing on Grand Cayman Island this morning. We unloaded our two new suitcases and headed over AWAY to deal with them being significantly different in finish. One is flat/matte green and the other is green with a shimmer/sparkling finish to it. After spending over $600, we'd like them to be a close match. After a few minutes of discussion with a sales representative and an email to Customer Service, we were told that color variations are typical/normal. Even though we and the staff agreed that these were nowhere near the same finish. Even other customers in the store agreed that they did not have the same appearance. I did explain that I did not want a refund. I wanted to exchange one for another so they would both be the same color... keep in mind when we purchase these 10 days or so ago and one was in the store and the other had to be ordered. I was getting nowhere and was once again asked to contact their customer service either by phone or by "live chat." Thankfully, Giovanni arrived and dealt with the different finishes. He agreed that it was more than just a slight variation in color and worked with us on an agreed-upon solution. Prior to departing with two matching suitcases that are very close in color/finish, we purchased a carry-on in the same color/finish as well. My advice to anyone purchasing two or more suitcases is, do NOT pay for them until you have them out of the boxes and ensure they are the same color/finish. read more

I've been looking at AWAY online for a while but was hesitant to pull the trigger. The prices are high, but in line with other brands of the same quality. And it's a little challenging ordering luggage online without actually feeling it. My wife and I were at Santana Row and decided to finally walk into the store. The shop is very roomy but products out on display for you to experience. There is signage explaining features/benefits + prices, but also plenty of staff walking around. We met a woman named Lindsay who was super friendly and showed us everything. We hadn't planned to come in, and she applied zero pressure to purchase - which is much appreciated. We went home and couldn't stop thinking about the bags- so we went back that evening and purchased two carry-ons with Lindsay. We have some trips coming up this week and new toys always help you get a little more excited. Love the store. Love the products. Appreciate the staff. read more

I wanted to browse the away luggage to see the differences between their selections for carry ons and check in sizes. Going in I was sure I liked the one with the pocket but Andy was able to guide me on which luggage had better options to suit my needs. I liked the sturdiness of the metal luggage and seemed more protective but also it would weigh more, the pocket design for the carry on was a cool design in case I would need to take out important items such as laptop or essential items during traveling. Away definitely has a high quality on their suitcases and superior customer service as well as a wide selection of colors and styles of suitcases. I think the lock feature on the luggage itself is a nice touch and I also like that the color options make it easier/faster to spot your luggage during baggage claim. The luggage also includes lmtd lifetime warranty so I feel like the quality will definitely last longer and more worth in terms of value if you have a lot of travel plans! read more

So glad San Jose has an Away store so I don't have to venture into San Francisco!!! I decided to check out the flex suitcases and the new everywhere bags since I already have older versions. The store is nicely laid out with plenty of space for people to browse through all of Away's products in various sizes and compare them in person. As I was looking around, Jesus approached me and was extremely helpful. He answered all the random questions I had and showed me all the improvements and features of the suitcases. Very pleased to know they have a San Jose location now! I've been wanting to replace my older carry-on with the Kiwi Bigger Carry-On model. I was pleasantly surprised to find out from the Away store in San Francisco that the San Jose location opened last week. Very convenient since it's much closer to where I live.
