We had just arrived that afternoon and were walking around our hotel to look for an early dinner. The dining room is lovely but not too stuffy or formal. We ordered the brown bread for starters, along with some wine and beer. I ordered the Arctic char (parsnip, chili, hazelnuts, browned butter and a soy glaze) and Paul G. went with the meatballs (hand-rolled and with cream sauce, mashed potatoes, lingonberries and pickled cucumber). We had the traditional Swedish meatball dish a few more times during the trip and they all came with the same components, but Bistro Bestick's was my fave. The sauce was heavier, velvety and creamy, and the potatoes were oh so fluffy. The berries were tart and fresh. I loved my fish, too... the hazelnuts, brown butter and soy were such a bright, unexpected combination. I enjoyed every bite. Don't sleep on dessert here! I couldn't even finish my dinner but still wanted to try the chocolate rum cake (salty caramel sauce, roasted peanuts, vanilla ice cream and crispy sesame) and what a delightful flavor explosion! It was beautifully presented and the sesame "cracker" on top was the perfect contrast to all the sweetness. I'd highly recommend BB!

We were hungry and just wanted a decent dinner prior to going out that night. Dining here was one of the best decisions during our time in Stockholm. The meatballs were absolutely amazing and one of the most memorable meals of my life. The presentation of the dishes was also impressive. We came here tired and left satisfied and ready to explore Stockholm nightlife. If you're in Stockholm, visit this restaurant and try the Swedish meatballs.

Old school charm from the kind host who got us a main dining room table despite the otherwise completely packed house to the gracious man who checked our coats. Just got the feeling people who work there are not just good at their job, but simply nice people. Our server was so good, too - she checked in on us gracefully and answering alll our questions with expertise. Beef fillet á la Rydberg was my delicious entree. Crème brûlée terrific closing. Pripps Blå on draught perfect liquid complement. But the culinary highlight was the Toast Skagen apppetizer for 3 (you cannot have enough.) My wife and nephew enjoyed their meals as well. So fortunate to have enjoyed such a wonderful evening.

So I reached out to a good friend and she recommended a hand full of places that included Tennstopet! My meal consisted of the Steak Tartare starter, "Today's cut of reindeer" for my main, and the Apple cake for dessert and each complemented each-other perfectly! The tartare was fully loaded with trimmings and tasted great. The reindeer was perfectly cooked and pre-cut, not tough /AT ALL/. And the Apple cake, all I can say is that you HAVE to get the Apple Cake when visiting! The texture is great and the flavor is amazing! Looking forward to visiting again!

It was pretty busy but we were able to get a table outside without a reservation. We could have been sat inside as well as the hostesses told us she has one table available in 5 minutes possible but inside was busy and loud so keep that in mind. The place is relative small, cozy, tables close together, very warm ambiance. Waitress was nice and gave us recommendations and they did not disappoint. Meatballs are not on the menu but she said they always have them. Biff Rydberg was my favorite, its a nice beef (maybe tenderloin) cut up with grilled onions and some kind of horseradish on the side, comes with diced potatoes. Other items we tried were the hash browns, and the Wallenbergare (Veal cutlet). Everything was good but for me the meatballs and the Biff Rydberg were standouts Check this place out for some traditional food, they also have some good beers on tap, if you're visiting Id recommend giving them a try.

To Black/African nationals BEWARE of the race discrimination by the Head Waitress…read more I am of African-American descent. On August 11, 2024, on my last day touring Stockholm, I approached the restaurant at 6:50 pm after a brief rain shower. The weather was hot prior to the rain shower. After the rain shower, the temperature became slightly chilly. I chose to eat inside. Upon arrival, a young, (20ish) Turkish/Muslim, waiter greeted me. He offered me a table outside. I declined for a table inside. I was instructed to see the Head Waitress "Oosa" [pronunciation] of her first name-spelling unclear]. "Oosa," late 40's, early 50 ish, appeared to be of Muslim descent, approached me. "Oosa" said she was too busy to serve me despite seeing several, single, tables available and open. "Oosa" turned me away. The restaurant inside was busy with open single table. I went across the street to the park. I watched white and Asian patrons approach and enter the restaurant after me. At approx. 7:05pm, I decided to book a table on the restaurant's website. My table was booked at 7:15pm on the same day. The restaurant's online booking had many open slots that day. I reapproached the male waiter. "Oosa" came outside to serve a group of white diners. I then approached "Oosa" showing her my online confirmed reservation. At this point, "Oosa" conceded to let me into the restaurant without incident. I was professionally served by a white, male, waiter who was working inside the restaurant. "Oosa" had 2 white, male, waiters working inside the restaurant. She wasn't over burdened as she tried to proclaim. The Swedish cuisine was excellent. The treatment I received from both male waiters was professional and non-discriminatory. Fast forward: September 14, 2024 I contacted the restaurant. I spoke to "Oosa." She explained she was born in Turkey. She would never discriminate against black people. "Oosa" then said I was turned away because they had too many online reservations. The restaurant was fully booked. I told "Oosa" this is NOT true. I told her I booked an open, online, reservation in order to enter the restaurant shortly after she decline me entry. She could not explain why she admitted white and Asian diners after me with many single tables open and available during the entire 90 minutes I dined in the restaurant. I have formally filed a Race Discrimination complaint against this restaurant and "Oosa" to the Equality Ombudsman (DO) of Sweden who investigate complaints of discrimination. BEWARE Black and African descent people (ethnic people of color) BEWARE of the Head Waitress ("Oosa's") reverse-racist, discriminatory practices. If you are turned away, do an ONLINE booking. She can not turn you away. If she does, refer to https://www.do.se/choose-language/english or call the local police for assistance. Put "Oosa" on public display in front of diners demanding the exercise of your civil rights.

A once-in-a-lifetime experience and meal for anyone lucky enough to snag a reservation…read more Reservations open at 10 am on the first of the month for the following month and will go quickly, within a couple of minutes, so for a restaurant 15 years in, is still a hot spot to be. I planned my whole Stockholm trip around coming here, and was lucky enough to snag a solo reservation for dinner the last night of my trip in May 2025. Truly nothing comes close to the overall service & hospitality experience and quality of the food and drinks. I have dietary restrictions (no red meat), that they could accommodate with no problem and even provide a printed menu that represented my exact substitutions, which rarely happens for me. The night I came, Björn Frabtzén received a third Michelin star at Frantzén's sister restaurant in Dubai, becoming the only chef in the world to helm three 3-Michelin star restaurants simultaneously, and my experience here really shows why they are the best of the best. You enter from a lobby and are greeted by a host who will guide you through the experience. I had the opportunity to use the restroom and then got a peak into some of the meats I'd be enjoying for my meal in the entryway itself. You then go up an elevator to the Lounge, where you get your first look at the drink menu and your first bites. Frantzén was one of the first restaurants to really champion this experience of moving from room to room for different courses and it sets an ambiance almost of eating at someone's home. It's casual but decadent and the chefs walk you through all of the ingredients you're about to enjoy while casually chit chatting and enjoying the best canapés of your life. After the starters, you're taken through the prep kitchen and the wine cellar to the actual restaurant, which is a large open kitchen where you get to watch the chefs work while enjoying your meal. I was celebrating my birthday, and despite getting the NA pairing (which was excellent minus one drink towards the end) had so many additional generous free pours of incredible wines and champagne throughout the night. Well worth it, as their sommelier won best sommelier at the Scandinavia Michelin ceremony one month later in June 2025, and some of the glasses they gave me for free were easily $100 a piece. Come hungry, because you'll leave stuffed beyond belief for a 5-6 hour meal (and can always hang out longer if the restaurant hasn't closed up for the night.) This menu is legendary and best to go in without too many spoilers, but I had the best dish of my life - the tear drop peas chanwamushi - sweet, so tender, unreal. Another guest told me they wait all year for pea season to get this version of the dish. After dinner, you move back into the lounge where you're treated to after dinner drinks, teas, light sweets (that they will box up for you if you're too full) and the famous cardamom, brown butter, and Madeira madeleines. These mini-versions of madeleines come in a set of 9, are made fresh to order, and are refilled for however long you want to sit and enjoy the ambiance and chat at the end of the night. I felt like over the course of this part in particular, I made friends with other diners and the staff and had one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences of my life. Frantzén is one of the best in the world (and if Reddit is to be believed, the very best) for a reason.

Although the passageway where the interior seating is situated seemed awkward it actually worked out well. Service, despite a crowd, was fairly quick, I would rate the coffee an A or 9/10 on the scale of strength, low acidity/smoothness. It is espresso based and made to exact order. There are serval options for milk (whole, oat, 1/2 and 1/2, etc). The major complaint would be that there is no easy place to throw away your rubbish, nor is there a place that is clearly evident to bust your dishes, which is much needed given that this is a super busy place.. The staff is too busy to bus tables regularly, which backs up the availability of seating . This is the major reason for a one star deduction.. TIP: You can buy beans or ground coffee for home brewing.

However this is Sweden, prices already include tax, and you typically don't leave a tip for counter service restaurants in this country...so the price wasn't too absurd. The Pho is different, but still definitely Pho and the portion was about the same. Except for the wife's Chicken Pho...that bowl came with A LOT of chicken. It was least 50% more protein than my beef Pho...nice! 75SEK for the deep fried spring rolls...this was weird for me. From a Californian's perspective they're not quite an eggroll nor a spring roll...they're Swedish rolls? They were tasty enough, but the order only came with 3 small rolls...not worth 75SEK, sorry! Side Note: Hearing local Asian-Swedes speak perfect Swedish and English is so fascinating to me. Cold day in Stockholm? Not feeling well? Eatnam's Pho is worth a try.
