It makes me sad to write this review. In the early hours on Friday, March 24th, My husband called…read more911 for me because I was very sick and thought I was having a heart attack. I had nausea, pain up and down both arms, and my chest was tight. When the ambulance arrived, they assessed me, took an ekg, and said I had the flu. Since I trusted them as professionals, I went back into the house and tried to get comfortable. A couple hours went by and I felt worse and the pain was unbearable. My husband called 911, once again, and the same ambulance came. I asked if they could take me to the hospital and they replied, "We can give you a ride but you'll still have to wait in the ER waiting room just like if you were a walk in." They continued to say I just have a virus. I declined their ride because I didn't want to sit in the ER waiting room feeling as bad as I did. In the past, ambulance patients bypassed the waiting room. My husband drove me to St. Vincent neighborhood ER. After assessments, blood tests, and ekgs, it was determined that I had a massive heart attack called a "widowmaker". Only 12% of people who have a widowmaker heart attack at home survive. It's really sad that I can't trust an emergency service during an actual emergency. This review is only for the medical ambulance NOT the fire department.

Over the course of three days we trained over 6 scenarios (Hoarder House, Basement Fire, RIT, Firefighter Survival, Search, & Forcible Entry) split up into AM/PM sessions. Lunches were provided each day as well as plenty refreshments throughout the day to keep us hydrated during our evolutions. One of the great things about coming out here was the melting pot of firefighters from all over the country (even a few Canadians) that were present as we all learned in the name of becomes better firefighers. The instructor cadre was just as diverse as the students and they all were very knowledgeable about the craft and had a lot of years of experience between them. I plan on returning next year for the other classes that they offer here as well (Engine 1 & 2/Truck 1 & 2).
