It seems I almost existed here for 40 years. So much of my fun life has been involved in this wonderful place. The owner, Rob Osborne is one of the best dudes and a great friend. Newbees might call it the "Cheers" of Ft Collins. We call it "The Hip Hangout of FtFun since 1970". You can feel it through the walls and soaked into the chairs. It stains the bar, creaks out of the floorboards and the murals talk of past and future tales done and to be experienced. Excellent food for carnies and vegies alike. I'm here to complain about one thing: there was chicken in my potato salad. Not a little cross contamination or anything Lao minor - it seemed to be a feature, like it was like a chicken and potato salad. I did not approach the staff about this oddity because I didn't want to deal with it or have them waste it. This was especially odd because I ordered Tempeh for my sandwich. I would think either front or kitchen staff would have warned someone getting a vegetarian meal that the potato salad features meat. I have eaten plenty of meat and potato salad in my life. Large sandwiches- good amount of options and fun location near campus. Came here with my family and I had the Lizzie which is a vegetarian option and the mushrooms had good texture and consistency. The onion rings were on the very crunchy side. Plenty of seating on a Saturday during the summer and two different live bands were in different parts of the building playing. Although, great service and friendly staff, the food was subpar. I had the Reuben which has too much cheese. The fries were good. The place is huge offering both indoor and outdoor seating. They had a local group of people playing string instruments inside the restaurant but next door, that is linked by a hall way, was playing more live music. Avos is a great place for a casual meal & live music venue. Catch a local band jamming on a Friday night and on the summer soak up the fresh air on the outdoor patio. First time back in a while and not disappointed. Food is good - I enjoy their tempeh burger which comes with standard fixings and plenty of fries. My husband got the Friday night only fish and chips. I sampled a few bites and thought they were tasty, too. Coupled with beer and cider from the bar and we were all set to enjoy the evening with local band Orchid Wave! It's fast casual style service. Order up front and they'll give you a number and bring out your food. No complaints. Bartender and employees were all helpful and friendly. read more

They arranged a table close to the band and ensured he had good access to the bathroom. The music truly made his visit memorable. I can't believe such high-quality music and personalized service can be offered at such a reasonable price. As an engineer, the restaurant's name stuck out to me right away (The number of units in one mole of any substance is called Avogadro's number or Avogadro's constant). I just knew I needed to check this restaurant, bar, music venue out. There just happened to be a blues band playing that day too! First off, the atmosphere of the place is really neat with a spacious and cool interior and also spacious and well decorated outdoors area. Plenty of space here to hang out! The food was amazing both in terms of price and taste. I was very surprised at the size of the sandwich for $13. Great location near campus while moving our daughter in at CSU. There were four of us and we each had a different sandwich. The sandwiches were large with soft yummy bread. We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak, Italian, Parmesan Sub and the Joe's. I paid extra to get homemade onion rings, and they were worth the price. Others in my party had side salads and they were fresh and large. We also tried a cookie that was the size of a small plate. Next time we plan to try one of their shakes. They have as many vegetarian options as they do meat. The location is quite large with plenty of seating inside or out. Orders are taken at the counter and then you do have to bus your own table. I've been here a handful of times for drinks at the bar and to enjoy the patio, but this was the first time getting food. I'd looked at the menu beforehand, but that still didn't prepare me for the specials they had written on the boards and on the screens above the order counter when we arrived! I was torn between the falafel, the cheesesteak and the special of the day - the chipotle black bean burger. After asking the cashier/server's recommendation, I went with the black bean burger (she was vegetarian, so that helped limit the options). My husband got Joe's Sub and took our number sign, I grabbed a can of kombucha and we went to the patio to enjoy the afternoon. We snagged a spot in the back corner and a few minutes later, our food was brought out to us. The pasta salad I got as a side (included in the price) was delicious! Creamy without being heavy, and a nice amount of salt from the diced olives. The chipotle burger left something to be desired - a generous amount of avocado, bright red fresh tomatoes, sweet white onions, but the patty was pretty mushy and disappointing. I'm fairly certain I've purchased the same patties at Costco. It also needed some extra crunch - I stole some of my hubby's lettuce to balance it out. My husband loved his sub! The bread was nice and soft and it was STUFFED full of turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion, cream cheese, bacon and avocado. I'd definitely get this sandwich next time I go! He begrudgingly offered me a few bites before demolishing the rest of it. A beautiful patio, helpful, kind and quick service, and some delicious entrees for a relatively cheap price! We wish we'd enjoyed this all summer before the college students come back, but we'll be back anyway! read more

I got to try Avogadro's number on a very hungry after hiking stomach and it hit the spot ! curiosity also made me look up what the name meant and Avogadro's number is a constant in chemistry that is the number of molecules in a mole of any gas. We went with a group and they have lots of good seating space including an outdoor patio in the front, and a venue in the back, where they host, live shows, and events! There is so much space that there was a full event happening, and I didn't realize until I went to the restroom towards the back of the building. Our group shared an order of jalapeño poppers, which were very yummy. If you are not a cream cheese person, these are not for you, but if you are, you will be in heaven- they are packed full and extra creamy. My friend tried the Tempeh burger and she said it was a great choice! Not many places have Tempeh as an option and it was cool to see it on the menu. I had Lizzie's sub which immediately filled my very very hungry stomach. It was nice and cheesy and full of veggies and I definitely could not eat the whole thing along with the jalapeño poppers. The only downside of my order was that taking it home probably would've meant a pretty soggy sandwich. Next on my list for my next trip to Fort Collins is trying out the cremation (cream cheese, avocado, olives, lettuce, tomato, onion) . I am definitely one for cream cheese on everything and between Avogadro's and Krazy Karl's, Fort Collins knows the correct amount. read more

1Hr 45min it took! This is the second time I dined at Avogadro's and the last! I ordered my food at 1:17pm (I have my receipt with the time on it.) I ordered the beef burger, add avocado and a side of fries. First they charge extra for fries! Can you believe it? But that's on me because I didn't look to see that fries and sweet potato fries are extra. $2.95 extra. I then found a table and sat. The first time I was there with a group and so we were chatting and yes, it took quite a bit of time the first time too. This time I was alone, and so played games on my phone to pass the time. But after 30 minutes I was getting restless. Then an hour passed. I'm an overly patient person. Nearing 1 1/2hours, I went to check how much longer. Mine was up next. So I sat back down. I was served and ate, I was quite hungry. Ordered @ 1:17pm served at 3pm (basically). I was looking forward to taking my out of town friends here sometime. But not now! Man, what a fun little hole in the wall! We came here to see a Grateful Dead cover band and got a couple sandwiches to go with us. Avogadro's Number is so much more than just a sandwich shop. They are conscious about those who are vegan and vegetarian, while still serving up tasty food. I knew I had to try this place based on the fun and wacky pictures I saw on here. It's something amazing to see in person and a great way to decorate a restaurant and make it unique. This is a walk up and order establishment and I felt no rush to order. All the sandwiches and pairings sounded excellent and I liked that they had items that I was not familiar with like tempeh. At first, I thought the restaurant was very small, but soon realized that they have a big show room where they host concerts and such. There is also a big patio in the back of the restaurant. All you have to do is follow the restroom sign and it will lead you right to it. That's where I found majority of the people sitting and biding their time. I had the mogul sandwich with fries and wow the sandwich was good. The bread was soft and there was lots of turkey and other fillings inside. It definitely had a unique flavor and was very filling as I couldn't finish it. My mom and sister got the french dip which they said was delicious. The only negative I can find is that they made 3 french dips instead of the mogul sandwich I ordered so I had to wait a bit longer for them to get that made. However, it was definitely worth the wait! Overall, I would love to come back here to witness the concert scene and patio and try more of the wonderful food! read more

This place is a classic that seems to get better with time. You might think it's just a sandwich shop, but it's much more. They have a bar side, an open space for music and shoes, and an outside patio you can soak up some sunshine on if you feel so inclined. Insider tip... You can order from the full menu on the bar side and they will bring your food over. This lets you skip the line on a busy day. On this particular visit, the server was new and seemed very confused on how to find whoever ordered the food, asking "Is this table 3?" How would I know your restaurants table numbers? I'll take one star off for that, but will add it back next time if they eliminate the confusion. read more

Avo's is one of my all time favorite staples in Fort Collins. I remember visiting Avo's when I was in High School and again in my early twenties. I'm almost 40 and I still visit on the reg. I've seen some amazing shows at Avo's like The Infamous Stringdusters before they were selling out Red Rocks! Some things to note about the food: 1) Their baguettes are out of this world! The person at the door continued to sell tickets even though there was NO where to sit. At one point I heard her say I'm going to count the ticket sales. She had no idea how many people were there. I had a negative experience at Avogadro's Number today that I want to share with you. I was there at 4 pm with a writing group of 10 people. Typically, we order food/drinks, then we write quietly for an hour, and then we socialize a bit. We are usually at a place less than two hours total, we always spend money, and we are quiet. Today, while we were writing, a person who said he was the owner admonished us that we should not be there without buying things. We explained that we had. But he did not want to hear it, and he walked away. The food at Avogadros Number is mediocre at best, but it's a nice empty place in the afternoon. The large place had fewer than a dozen people there other than the 10 of us. I will never go there again. The owner is not hospitable. His rudeness is not what I think of when I consider who we are in Fort Collins. Food - mediocre. Owner- super rude. read more

I was surprised at the size of the chicken tenders!! The chicken was moist and juicy about the size of a quarter breast and there was not too much breading. The ambiance was the best part. Cool hip place that had a good vibe. The service is pretty much non existent but that doesn't stop them from asking for tips. The food was average or below. I got a rueben with just enough meat to cover the bread, which was a great marble rye. My wife got a gyro, which was pretty good. The sweet potato fried were crispy but 30 seconds from being burnt. The options for Gluten Free diet are few. Gluten free bread, yes, however the bread slices are small and filling items fall out. In the past, tacos had an option of corn tacos, not now. In the past I could order a breakfast burrito anytime of the day without the flour tortilla, however, now only served at breakfast.
