Security here is not paying attention to the things that truly matter. My fiancé got practically escorted out for "missing his straw twice", a quote from security. At this point in our night he had about 3 drinks... Very unprofessional level of security and security management. Unfortunately, we won't be returning no matter who is headlining. After reading reviews I know we aren't alone with this. I just hope others take the reviews seriously before buying tickets. read more

I had a great time at this venue. I had the pleasure of meeting Lacy the bartender. She was so fun and friendly when a friend ordered a double tall with lots of ice so that we didn't have to come back and wait in line. I had to throw her a big tip, in cash, because the law didn't pass and they still pay tax on tips (my own personal issue, always tip in cash) Having read the other reviews re: security, I found them nothing but polite. It's unfortunate that venues need as much security as they do, but I didn't witness anyone rude or irrational. As another poster said "don't be a drunken idiot, you'll be fine". Imagine being the guy that has to ask the 2 big girls to not block the stairs by dancing on them, when the entire place is basically a wide open dance space. It's not fancy but it's fun and there's really nothing to obstruct the view of the stage. read more

I am not someone who leaves bad reviews, but after what happened to me on March 1st, 2025, I feel like I have to warn others. I was disrespected by a female staff member at this venue. I was with a friend who had too much to drink, and my group was responsibly working on getting her a safe ride home. We were approached by a female staff member, and instead of hearing me out about how we were working on getting her home, the staff member chose to act condescending toward me. After finally securing a ride for our intoxicated friend, another friend and I were waiting in line for the bathroom when the same staff member walked in. Someone in line struck up a friendly conversation with her, and the staff member mentioned being from New York. Trying, once again, to smooth things over and be polite, I casually mentioned that I was from Minnesota and knew a lot of people from New York--it was nothing more than a simple, friendly comment. What happened next was completely uncalled for. This staff member gasped, as if I had said something outrageous, and proceeded to accuse me of being "extremely drunk" (which I was not). She then grabbed my wrists, ripped off my 21+ wristband, and marked X's on my hands like I was some underage kid trying to sneak in. Her words were condescending and degrading--she told me to "come find her when I feel like I'm less intoxicated," as if I were some out-of-control drunk that needed babysitting. I was shocked and humiliated by this extremely unprofessional behavior. Multiple bystanders came up to console me, trying to reassure me that what just happened was completely wrong. Strangers were asking if I was okay, and one even admitted they had no idea why I had been treated that way. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how out of line this female worker was. I know the venue's guidelines about intoxication, and I was nowhere near violating them. This wasn't about enforcing rules--it was about targeting and publically embarrassing me. I left the concert shortly after because I was too upset and humiliated to enjoy the night. This was, without a doubt, the most degrading experience I've had in the state of Colorado. I don't know this staff member's name, but she had black hair. If you are considering coming here, be warned--this worker seems to pick and choose who she wants to target, and she has no problem humiliating paying customers. I will never return to the Aggie Theatre, and I strongly encourage others to avoid this place unless you want to risk being publicly disrespected." read more

After reading the comments I was kind of regretting buying tickets here, but turns out it isn't as bad as the reviews say. Security is active which isn't a bad thing, I've been to places that security don't do anything. Drinks weren't too bad from what my girlfriend said. Smaller venue, so you're closer to artist. Absolutely horrible service, security has no idea what they're doing and I saw the bar serving multiple underage minors alcohol. Tickets are a mess and a half to try and by and then even more of a mess to try and pull up at the door. No security throughout the venue besides at the door and the ones there are barely paying attention. I really enjoy going to see bands at the Aggie because it's close and inexpensive, but recently I went to see a show and the time doors open was pushed one hour later than the time listed on the ticket when it was purchased without warning or any communication. The day before the show, the ticket still showed the same time as when I purchased the ticket. I ended up showing up a full hour earlier than I had intended, in relation to when the show was scheduled to start, and had to wait for the opening band. Additionally, any opening bands are rarely mentioned and you end up with a random one or two some of the time. I would greatly appreciate the opening bands being listed as I enjoy many of the local opening bands I've seen at the Aggie and am likely to go to many more events if a band I like is opening. read more

Great place to see a show. Good security, you will be scanned quickly at the front door and they walk the internal areas to keep an eye on everything. Bar provides plenty of beverage choices. The ambiance is dark, hip and clean with great sound quality. Bathrooms seem pretty clean, but only a couple of stalls in the women's restroom, so plan for a line. We have seen Jr. Brown (back in the day) Satellite Pilot (they rock, by the way!), Josh Meloy, and others. It is standing room only with some seating on one side and some elevated areas if you get there early. Only two exits in case of emergency. I would definitely recommend checking it out for a fun, inexpensive night out, but plan to circle around for parking and possibly walk a block. Have Fun! read more

Make sure not to use the restroom for more than three minutes if you chose to attend a concert here. They will assume you are doing drugs. Last night my friend and I got kicked out of the venue before the concert even started. We went in the same stall because I was trying to give my friend assistance with an ongoing medical condition she has when the security guard started banging on the stall door. When we came out and told her the medical condition and the reason why we were in the stall together, she couldn't give a sh*t. She proceeded to kick us out in the cold without allowing us to even grab our jackets from inside. read more

The security discriminates against disabled people so if you are in a wheelchair or have any neurological condition such as cerebral palsy as I do they will kick you out after being completely sober. I flew from California for work as a videographer and came to support an artist I worked with and ran out if the urinal because I heard him playing a song I was involved in and security took my wristband and I said I have no issue because I wasn't planning on drinking anyway and they followed my while I was excited filming my friends closer song and then kicked me out after I got excited about my friend Kellen Smith played his best song but since I have a condition that affects my muscles and coordination they discriminated against me based on my condition and refused ti give me a refund. Just dont go here there are so many options and this establishment has horrible ambience and incompetent security on an ego trip. News flash ylur job is a joke it required zero skill I mean I am on a business trip and the member if staff who made the decision to kick me out after buying a ticket for an artist I worked with is an intoxicated druggie with the most trashy tattoos gauges and nose ring ive ever seen. Great staff, wonderful acoustics and not a bad seat in the house... Had the pleasure of seeing my first live show in 15 months at the Aggie last weekend, and it couldn't have been a better experience. The terraced flow of the venue from door to stage ensures a great view from any location. Sound quality was what I consider best-in-class for a venue this size. Drink choices were outstanding, with a wide range of beer styles from local breweries and a great liquor selection. Venue was clean and easy to navigate, with the added bonus of optimal airflow throughout. The staff was extremely cool and attentive. If you live in Fort Collins or surrounding area, the location can't be beat. I hope to be back very soon! read more

I'm a 54 year Old woman who forgot her ID at home and I live at least 40 minutes away from this venue I took my niece to a show here and a friend got me a drink I was kicked out of the venue even though it is not illegal for someone who is clearly of legal drinking age to drink alcohol without their ID. The staff is on a power trip and ruined an evening I was looking forward to for months for no good reason. I was not visibly intoxicated and police do not bust venues for people who are clearly over 21 drinking alcohol without their ID it is just some sort of venue policy they feel is so important that they had to ruin a once in a lifetime experience. The Aggie has a coat check? Wow. I seriously learn something new every time on on here. My most recent stop at The Aggie was last Saturday for my 2nd Reverend Horton Heat show - always a great time watching The Rev do his thing, as well as enjoying a $4 tallboy PBR and hanging out with a bunch of other drunks. It's like New Years was at my place but with bar service, and worse bathrooms. I've got to say, FoCo is lucky to still have The Aggie and these smaller but way more intense acts that still carve our little town into their schedule every time they're out on tour. The staff has always been cool, the pit excessively violent - just like we all like it, plus they give you wristbands so you can come and go as you please. Me and the boys left the venue twice to go meet up with folks elsewhere for a shot & a beer, then went right back in to the show. Gotta take a star back just because this place needs an update and their online ticketing system seems a bit shady. Kudos for doing tabs at the bar though. read more

This past Thursday night on 11/30/2023 myself, my litter sister, and my fiancé had tickets to attend a show at the Aggie Theater in Fort Collins. As a backstory, I am 26 years old and I graduated from CSU 4 years ago and have seen many, many shows at this venue with no problems. At time of arrival we were all thoroughly checked by security for at least a total of 10 minutes between the 3 of us. My fiancé even thanked the folks for taking the time to search us and that he appreciated it because it made us feel safe being there. Seconds after getting through the checkpoint, my sister and I went to the restroom before making our way to the stage while my fiancé was waiting for us outside. I walked in first, picked a stall, and locked the door behind me. My sister ends up knocking on the door stating the other stalls did not have any toilet paper, and/or did not have a door that was locking properly. Obviously, I let her into my stall because she is my little sister really needing to use the restroom. Not even 30 seconds after she steps in the stall a woman starts banging on the door yelling "ONLY 1 PERSON PER STALL." We walked out of the stall, go to wash our hands, and this woman is standing there lecturing us as I told her that the other stalls did not have toilet paper or locking doors..... We walk out and she tells us we have to leave the venue for breaking the rules as there is only one person per stall. Another gentleman comes over and is telling us that we are being kicked out and would not listen to a single thing I was saying to him. At this point I'm completely flabbergasted because the only reason my sister came into my stall in the first place was because of THEIR inability to provide working stalls! I would like to mention that my party of 3 was 100% SOBER. We were not making a scene, we were polite, and willing to spend money on drinks and enjoy an evening out. When I asked to speak to a member of management the security guard said there was a number I could call and refused to let me speak to any of his superiors then threatened to call the cops. He even had to nerve to accuse us of doing drugs in the stall and flushing it down the toilet MINUTES AFTER BEING THOROUGHLY SEARCHED. At this point, I will never take my business back there and simply looking for a refund for our tickets. I need someone to reach out to me right away to make this right. I've NEVER been the one to write a review as I work as a customer service representative and know what it's like but this was COMPLETELY unacceptable and unnecessary. So as someone who has lived in Fort Collins a few years now, and had nothing but wonderful experiences at all the other venues I've been to I cannot explain how disappointed I am in the Aggie theater.. I recently went for my very first time, and within 10 minutes of being in the venue my friend and I were thrown out before the show even started. Apparently two girls are NOT allowed to use the same bathroom stall .. my friend and I were in the middle of peeing and all of a sudden our door was aggressively kicked on and we heard someone yelling. They NEVER announced that they were security and we thought it was a drunk girl wanting to use our stall.. we finished peeing and when we walked out a woman (who did not tell us who she was) grabbed our wrists and DRUG US OUT of the venue. We were so confused and embarrassed trying to ask her what was happening. She pushed us over to a man who without asking grabbed our wrists and angrily ripped off our bands. Trying to reason with her calmly she gave us no explanation besides that you can't be in a stall at the same time which to us is a very foreign concept, and we had no idea why. I was calm and trying to talk to her when she said if we didn't leave the cops would be involved and so we went on our way without utilizing a cent of the tickets that we bought. The Aggie gives you no warning of its policies and should really think about having a bathroom attendant that explains this is the case so that two girls having fun, but have to use the restroom don't make the same mistake and waste a night of their lives. My first time seeing a show at this venue. The place isn't a fancy music venue and doesn't need to be one. Just give me good sound, a decent place to view the stage, and The place is ok with me. The sound was good where I was standing on the night that I went to see Victor Wooten. Not too loud, all instruments clearly heard in the mix, good bass, and overall sound quality. Easy access to the front stage area and people weren't wasted or rowdy on a Thursday night. I was able to check my coat for $2 and got it back with no issues. A decent spot for live music! read more

Simply just another trash college music venue. The floors are sticky, the average temperature is way to hot, the staff can be quite rude and whiny sometimes, and the beer selection is literally trash. Everything tastes like garbage and costs too much. Ive def seen some good bands here before though. So musically, its fine. Every other aspect really does suck though. I've also noticed this venue suffers from egotism and favoritism. They will continually book people that certain staff members enjoy, like several times a month. However, they will pretty much flat out ignore newcomers and gig requests. Have heard this same story from several other people that have tried to play this venue. Overall, boycott this place. Washington's and Avogadro's are way better places to see music in Fort Collins. And are actually clean too Lets not forget that this place used to force people to only drink beer in a literal cage, and if you stepped outside of the cage with your drink, you get thrown out. Have also seen the old owner literally throw a lady against a newspaper box in -15 below zero weather, refused to let her get her jacket from inside, and basically told her to go fuck herself. and this was during a Twiddle concert even. This is a great place to go see a show. Would recommend to anyone in the area. It's an intimate space yet there is plenty of dance room. The different levels make it easy to see the performers. Service at the bar is usually very quick. The lines for the bathroom are always tolerable even during sold out shows. If there was anything negative, I would say security personnel can be on a power trip from time to time. Sometimes watching them drag people out (especially when it's not super clear to my why) makes me feel more threatened than they make me feel safe. read more

Really loved the fact that they sell food here and at the end of the night they gave it away instead of wasting it. So, I was EXTREMELY sketched to come to this venue because of all the reviews I read on it, especially being under 21. But, my experience was amazing! I came to see grieves from Michigan and it was one of the best concerts I've been too! I didn't go to the bathroom because I was a little scared of getting accused of anything but everyone I was around had their wristbands and drinks in their hand, maybe because I was right in the front and the security guards could see me at all times they didn't try nothing funky ALTHOUGH, like these have said, if you are vaping... they will point you out and tell you to put it away. The only thing I saw with security was them telling people not to vape. The front door they had a bag check, ID check and a metal detector, pretty quick and in the venue. The acoustics are pretty good aswell, didn't need headphones lmfao. Maybe the guards are different for different shows, they even helped me get my vip stuff because I missed it but I had a overall great experience. read more

I have been to the Aggie a few times in my life. Each time has been bad... just bad. This time around (last Friday), I returned to the Aggie for the first time in years to see two of my friends' bands play. Everything was going just swell until my wristband got messed up and came off. Thinking it would all be fine and dandy (since I'm 23), I went up to the bar to grab a drink with my friend and the bartender asked where my wristband was. Alas, I showed him my ID and told him the story of why I no longer had my wristband. He got all huffy and told me to get another. Soo.. I go to the front to get another and get reprimanded by security. They almost kicked me out, but finally a guy looked at my ID and gave me big black Xes on my hands. Since my wristband was gone, I was no longer allowed to spend money at the Aggie's bar (greatttt for business, right?), but could remain in the show. And there we are, 5 minutes later.. I have a sip of my friend's drink (okay, sorry security)... Get booted immediately! But mind you, I was escorted out harshly by a large troll of a security guard who proceeded to say extremely rude comments. And, better yet, I got one last scolding from the bartender who told the security to get "me and my fakea** ID out of there." GREAT customer service, guys. I'll be sure to spend my hard-earned money elsewhere, at bars that actually value me being of age and not berating me for having an out-of-state ID. read more

The most poorly managed business in Old Town. Probably the worst medium sized venue I've ever been to. This place is a total diamond in the rough, and is rough as hell because the management sucks. Main issues: 1) They think they're a college venue every night, and they're not. For that reason, almost every show has the headliner starting around 11pm. Sometimes even closer to midnight. This happens regardless of the day of the week. So if you go to see the band you paid for, you probably won't even get home until 1am, and as someone with a day job, during the weekdays that's pretty tough. My wife won't even go to shows during the week because she's typically in bed before the opener even starts. Now, you may say that college kids go out later, which is true. But how many college kids are going to shell out $25 on a Tuesday to see Robert Randolph and the Family Band on a Tuesday? The answer is a lot closer to zero than it is the capacity of the Aggie. 2) They have served minors, gotten in trouble, and are punishing non-minors because of it. They got in trouble so many times for serving minors, that the city required them to up security AND install a fence, yes a chain link fence, to separate minors from drinking adults. So rather than bite the bullet and either not allow minors, or to not serve booze and have all-ages shows, they separate the crowd like caged rats. And the worst part is that part of the all-ages area is right in front of the stage, which means if you are over 21, you can get near the stage, but not with a drink. So I'm being punished because the Aggie served minors. Last weekend when the New Mastersounds played on a Thursday, there was ONE person in front of the stage, because there were zero minors in the place and hey, everyone wants to have a cocktail. It was embarrassing for the city. 3) Staff is incredibly rude. I've even been at shows where the soundboard guy was missing for 10 minutes, when the band wanted more sound on the mic. The band didn't play there again for 2 years, and this is a band that used to play twice a year. 4) Place is a dump. So much potential here. It could seriously be a crown jewel of Old Town. It could get the bands that the Boulder Theatre and the Fox do. But it never will as long as the management is the same. The only good things I have to say is that the drinks are reasonably priced for a music venue, and their email list that gives away free tickets is nice. That's really the only thing that keeps me going consistently. read more

Go to the Aggie for the bands, not the venue! The Aggie generally has a great lineup of well known bands to boast about, but that's about it. When I go to the Aggie, I go expecting a free-for-all of sorts. The conglomeration of the attributes of the venue is overall awful: slow lines, slow staff, rude college crowd, and an insanely dirty floor among other things. BUT, like I said, the lineup isn't something to overlook. If you want culture, service, and quality I would say skip the Aggie and instead opt for some live music at Avo's Number. But if you want to see your favorite band, without making a drive to Denver, the Aggie would the spot to go. Music is what matters here, not much else. read more

Next thing I know I'm getting thrown out. And not just asked to leave but completely manhandled by their power tripping security. I even have bruises on my arm where he grabbed me. I've never been kicked out of anywhere before. I wasn't rude or belligerent. Then they kicked my friends out because we came together. I called the police but I doubt anything will come of it. This was the worst venue with the most unprofessional staff. paid $30 to get in and got to stay for 30 mins. staff kicked me out for no reason. said I was underage drinking when I was standing with girls who were over 21 who had seen me at the place I ate before hand. There was 3 drinks and three girls with wristbands. I chatted with them shortly mentioning that I had seen them before the show. The security guard showed up and kicked me out for "underage drinking" even after I had explained the situation and explained I had no wrist band and did not purchase a drink, he grabbed me and the other girls drink and told me to leave. What a waste... my first and last time at this venue... thanks Aggie for the worst birthday celebration ever. if you don't want to waste your money do not go to this venue. Has a good music calendar most of the time but the bouncers suck, you can barely enjoy yourself without feeling like you're gonna get thrown out and getting dirty looks from bouncers all night most nights I go out. On top of that, if you are on the street team for the free tickets, good luck with that. 8 out of 10 times they "forget" to put you on the list and you are forced to pay full ticket price, no matter how much work you did or how much proof you provide. On top of that I was banned from this establishment because of a Facebook argument with the street team manager once lol. This place also has shitty sound sometimes and is kind of a dark dirty little hole. It's just too trashy to be considered a real music venue in my opinion. At least the bands that play are good. Fellow music lovers, I want to share an awful experience I had at this venue. I wish it was possible to give negative stars. I am one of the easiest people to please and don't share bad experiences unless I feel the need. This past weekend at the theater, a friend tried to order a coke, not alcoholic and no intent to try to buy underage like he had huge "X"'s on his hand, we aren't stupid. Anyways they costed a ridiculous price so as he walked away (I witnessed) him turn around with the two cokes in hand ask how much the price of a jack and coke or just so he could make a comparison in price. The rude bartender, then made sure that he was escorted out... WHY?? he had no intent to buy underage and was escorted out. I saw this happen and went to ask the bartender to see a manager, their was not a manager their. After explain the situation politely to the bartender he cursed me out and flipped me off (many witnesses of this) and then I left because how rude and unreal the situation was. I have never met anyone more rude that made sure to talk down upon someone young. I get that their needs to be authority but this man was beyond awful and should be fired. The manager is aware of the situation and said he would deal with it but for such a small venue I wouldn't think it wasn't as hard to find a staff that is more polite. It is hard to ruin a concert for someone like me but wow they sure did. This is one of the many stories Ive heard that reflect on the awful staff. Lucky the manager was somewhat easy to work with. They tried to back track and apologize and state the situation was due to lack of new management. They did nothing to rectify the issue or compensate for the grand error. I liked this little venue. It was not at all dirty as so many complained about. Lots of complaints about security too but I only saw one security guy and he was bobbing his head to the music. I went for a reggae concert so a chill vibe is to be expected. It looks like they are very strict about no smoking or vaping. I don't smoke so doesn't bother me but just find it silly for a legal state. I moved here from Florida and everyone smokes in the venues there and it's not even legal.
