My truck broke down and I needed a vehicle to get me back to San Diego. I had a confirmed reservation, prechecked in, and paid. I drove 45 minutes to the airport only to be told they didn't have a car for me and the best they could do was get me a car the next day or can el my reservation. Do better Avis! read more

My daughter had an appointment to pick up a rental car at 8:00 and it was not available until 8:51. Companies used to under sell over deliver now they oversell and under deliver what they can provide. Absolutely atrocious management. Places like this deserve to go out of business. read more

I've rented from this location several times due to convenience and price. First issue is that they never have the car that you rented available so the guy (I won't use the term gentleman because he is far from that) that works there attempts to upsell you. Second issue is that the car either needs an oil change during the rental or the vehicle is subpar with stains, odors and/or dents. They do not take care of the vehicles whatsoever. Finally, the man that works there has an atrocious attitude and he severely lacks customer service skills. His mother owns the company and let's just say when she was running the business the customer service wasn't much better. Save yourself a headache, spend the extra $20 and use Enterprise at the airport. They're always professional, they always have your vehicle ready with a full tank of gas and their cars are very well maintained. read more

If we could give 0 stars we would , Avis doesn't try to help at all. Long story short my husband was arrested I called them to let them know where the vehicle could possibly be, they never picked it up. We've been cooperative, but was charged 7,000 for a car he had for 3 days . They even charged 3,000 in taxes and 700 in rental taxes . Horrible customer service. One way rental reservation made in October 2023 for August 19th, 2024 trip from Yuma for flight out of San Diego, pick reserved for 4pm. At 8pm, we were told car was not returned and no other options, but call back at 8am in the morning. We needed to be in San Diego at 8am! This locations service was so awful that I wasn't even able to get my rental car because the desk agent made up policies that I have never experienced at any other rental agency. He refused to honor the rate made online and demanded to see an employee photo id card and corporate credit card in order for me to pick up my vehicle. My company does not even issue those. I travel for work and have never been asked, let alone required to have them. I provided a copy of my paystub with my business card but was still unable to secure my rental. This is extremely frustrating considering my pick up was for 1645 and they close at 1700. There are limited options here in Yuma but I would not recommend this location. read more

Update: The last car we rented (the previous review) had a flat. Long story short, I contacted my Insurance company (thank God for full coverage!), worked it out with Avis and got a replacement car in a hot minute. They charged me over $400 because there was pet hair. I could have took a lint brush to it but they tell you dont worry about cleaning when you return it. So $58 turned into approximately $500. They didn't work with me or anything, just cold hearted. read more

Nice quick service. This airport didn't have preferred counter. But it's really small. Dropping off car on way out is unattended just look for a small Avis sign in middle of small parking area. Take keys to counter. With mileage and your done. So my car was clean but had no windshield washer fluid. Not happy about that. read more

I will not be using this branch again. The place and the car I was provided with were both filthy. Then when I got back into my own vehicle that I had parked at their location it was tagged to be towed. Nowhere was there a no parking sign, when I walked back inside to ask about it I asked why there wasn't a sign posted, the response I got was "City ordinance, we don't have to" horrible customer service. read more

These guys are professional and accommodating even for last minute requests. "Wait it is 114 and he going to wash the truck up for me now????" These guys are awesome. One of the only places in Yuma that will rent a 4x4 one-way. Most other businesses restrict one-way rentals to non 4x4 and suvs. read more

Why can't every rental car place be like this one? No joke, 5 minutes, in and out. We had a little transmission problem on the way to San Diego about 30 minutes away from Yuma. If you've ever driven to San Diego (Don't recommend) you know there is a bit of hill climbing towards the end. No good for cars having transmission trouble. Gave this Avis a call, they said they had a car and we would be good to go when we got there. Guess what? When we got there they had the car, they were extremely fast and we were on our way to Whales Va... I mean San Diego! Thank you very much for the fast, friendly service! It turned a pretty crummy weekend into a much less crummy weekend. read more

Absolutely love this place! Have traveled all over the world and no matter what, the service at this location is awesome! Kelly remembers everybody's name and always greets them when they arrive. Rentals take less than five minutes to either pick up or return and the cars are always clean! Kelly and the rest of the crew definitely spoil the locals with their customer service! read more
