Called and told to text them for availability. Texted the information needed and waited. Since I got no reply, I went shopping for other Taxi businesses and got a reservation. 45 minutes and no replies from "Vick's" I texted and told them to disregard. His response, we've been busy but we do have availability. When you need a response and need info, 45-50 minutes for a response (IMO) for a taxi is not what you want. I tried Vick's for the first time after getting too frustrated with multiple issues with another taxi company. From the start this was a better experience, with continued communication about pick-up time and when a driver was on his way. That alone is more than many companies do. And then the ride itself, the driver was super friendly and helpful. When he found out I'd never been to the place I was going before, he offered to go in with me and help me figure things out. This was not an impersonal stuffy taxi experience, this was a comfortable helpful experience that, as someone with extreme anxiety in new situations, I am SO grateful for! Service was prompt and initially reliable. I am new to town and traveling with a child and then one day he cancelled on me and referred me to another contact, as if within the same company. I did feel as if well if I am on the schedule and he was unable to fullfill sceduled time of service then I would have liked for that to have been professionally handled and not put on me to call "his" contact, especially while I am at work. At the same time, my Phone number was given out and i received a call after I had already declinind being that it was not my issue to resolve, having to ask someone else for transportation was then put on me and I felt somewhat of dissappoinment and passed on like " of not importance." We had discussed continuos / consistent transport while We are in town and that will not be fullfilled. Vick's VIP is a great taxi service with flat rates and no meter. Very friendly, informative and always on time. We took Vick's from the Yuma airport to the Los Algodones border and we weren't sure at first what to think with the price since there was no meter but we were very happy to find out it was still a bit cheaper than the metered taxis's and very safe and super friendly. We called to have a pick up at the Algodones border a week later and he was there waiting (early). Would total use Vick's VIP again! read more

When in Yuma, don't bother using any other car service or cab. Vicks Car Service is the same price as any cab, but unlike most cab companies, he is always on time or early. I was having dental surgery done in the border town of Los Algodones. I told Vick when he dropped me off for my appt. that I wasn't sure when I would be done, though I guessed around 5:30 or 6:00. I said I would call him when I was ready to go. I didn't get out til about 7:30 and it was getting dark. I called Vick and he said he was waiting at the Port of Entry! I was so grateful and relieved! He didn't even wait for my call. He just made a point of being there! All I can say is his service goes above and beyond any other service in the area, Believe me, I had the chance to find that truth out personally. Two cab companies I tried were very late after they had promised they were 10 minutes away! You can be sure Vick will be there when you expect him to be, in a clean car, with a capable reassuring demeanor. I am scheduled to come back to Yuma in late August. I've never reviewed a cab company before but I felt compelled after my experience today. I landed from my flight and walked outside to grab a cab. The first cab in line was the "VIP" cab so that's the one I got. The first thing I noticed getting in the cab was the smell of cigarettes and the ash tray on the floor. I was happy when the gentlemen rolled his window down but I was anxiously awaiting the a/c to come on because it's Yuma and its hot as hell out here. Low and behold the a/c didn't work and now it's getting uncomfortably hot in the cab. I asked if I could lower my window and that was broken also. The bottom line is that the cab was a piece of junk and should be towed out to a nearby bombing range. The cherry on top for this ride was that when I asked for change for the cab fare he didn't have any. Therefore I ended up paying a 50% tip on the fare. He apologized but at the end of the day it's a pretty simple business plan to execute and it was below average in every category. Never again will I use this company. read more
