I've been going to The Joint for about five years, predominantly to put slipped ribs back into place. This is an excruciatingly painful condition and putting the ribs back in place is agonizing. I choose The Joint for this process because they have weekend and late hours during the week that many chiropractic offices cannot provide. I cannot predict or control when my ribs slip out of place, and I need the ease and convenience of some place with extended hours. I went to The Joint yesterday morning to get ribs put back into place. The Chiropractor began his adjustment and the first two maneuvers were manageable, but on the third maneuver, I gasped in pain. It was not exorbitantly loud, but I did make a noise. The Chiropractor then told me "if you're going to be loud, I'm going to have to ask you to leave." I told him I was sorry, but that the pain caught me off guard and it was just a natural reaction. Keep in mind that the Chiropractor, myself, and the receptionist were the only three people in the entire practice, so it's truly not like I was disturbing anyone. And truthfully, I can assure you that I must not be the only person that has ever made a noise during a painful adjustment for a condition that's excruciating to begin with. Then the chiropractor went on to tell me that it's in my chart that I am difficult. I literally said excuse me what does that mean? He proceeded to tell me that it has been recommended to me to come multiple times a week for adjustments and that I don't listen. The reason why I don't come multiple times a week is my philosophy is that you can be over adjusted, it is not covered by insurance and can get cost prohibitive. But let me clarify something. Just because I don't do exactly what I'm recommended to do does not make me difficult. It makes me free thinking and I have the right to do what I think is best for myself. My question to The Joint is why in the world would you ever make a customer who is paying you to do a job, feel so embarrassed, ashamed, and mortified when they are already at their weakest moment because it hurts to even breathe? Anyone who is in the service industry needs to fully understand that it is your customers who keep you in business and you are working for us. I will no longer ever return to The Joint, and it will be my mission to tell anyone and everyone I have ever spoken with about chiropractic adjustments to never again enter your premises. I needed your skills, your compassion and your empathy and I got none of those things. You are an incredibly repulsive excuse for a business establishment and I would like nothing more than for you guys to go out of business. You should truly be ashamed of all of yourselves. I have never been difficult, disrespectful, unappreciative, or unkind. I also have never taken the time to write a review. I had some free time while in Phoenix and signed up for a membership there, not knowing that Yuma also had a Joint. After discovering the availability in Yuma, I have been twice and loved my adjustments. It's quick and easy and I feel much better! I also found out that my favorite chiropractor moved here and can't wait to be able to see him for an adjustment the next time I'm there! In defense, its a tag check in place. So the majority of the people who walk in don't speak or say anything and if you're curious... guess what, you open the hole on the front of your face and talk. I was wearing a modest cami, a sports bra, and a cardigan and he talked to my tits 75% of the visit. 2. I've had back problems for decades. I've seen lots of professionals. This guy did rote work with little to do with what I said was happening 3. He made up sh*t about "this spot has been stuck for 4 months but this other spot has been stuck for 2 years". This is total nonsense. 4. I have a deformity in my spine which I listed on the form and he never asked me about it or gave me a moment to tell him about it. Too busy giving his dead-eyed sales pitch. 5. After all that awkward BS, he only went up my spine once with that machine that rapidly pokes you (idk the name) and then basically attempted to crack my mid-back several times. She said "it is all in the brochure," and handed it to us. We attempted to ask us a few questions, and she just stared at us. I went there hoping to find relief from recent lower back pain. My husband would go here so I decided to give it a try and hopefully get relief. I walk in and there are 5 people ahead of me I decide to wait because my back really hurts. The line is moving along, one more guy to go before me when another man walks in. He's told by the receptionist to head on back. I frowned at this because there are no appointments here. 10 minutes pass and another woman walks in. She is also told to head back. I continue to wait patiently wondering why they are going before me because I've already been waiting an hour for the other people to dissipate. The other people had been moving down in chairs toward the back so after the woman that came after me I went to do the same and the receptionist told me that I couldn't go back there. I needed to wait for the doctor to call me. So I ask her how much longer its going to be and she tells me that after this last woman I will be called that members need to go first. I say ok and wait for the two people that came 20 minutes after me after to be seen because my back is aching now from sitting there. I've already been waiting for an hour and a half now as these two are finally done being seen. At least 5 more people walk in after this. The doctor walks out and calls one of the men who had literally just walked through the door. I stand up and tell the girl something in essence of whats going and lose my patience its been an hour and a half that makes three people seen ahead of me who came an hour to an hour 30 minutes after me with no end in sight. They don't have appointments here its supposed to be first come first serve. I come back a few minutes after calming and ask the receptionist when am I supposed to be seen and she tells me that the doctor chooses. So I ask her, if I'm purposely being skipped. To which she replies no because I gave him your clipboard. (My paperwork) Which leads me back to the idea that I was purposely being skipped without reason because he has my paperwork sees me sitting there just beyond the wall and still is picking others that literally just crossed the threshold. I was so upset that I had waited so long with no solution to my pain. My husband promptly went and canceled his membership asking the girl at the front desk what happened, why wasn't I seen and she said that all members go first. So he asked her if more people continue to walk in then my wife waits indefinitely? She said yes. Then he asked her does that make sense to you? And she just said she didn't know what to tell him. Honestly I've never been treated so poorly and I know the doctor could hear all this it's an open treatment room yet he never said anything, no apology, or trying to fix it from the front desk receptionist, there was no one saying my mistake or hold on one minute we are going to see you, nothing. As the previous reviewer stated, the lady and the front desk doesn't greet anyone. She stares at you and was very awkward when I arrived. Her initial questions made it seems as it takes over 1.5 hours for your initial visit. This sounded odd and seems to deter customers apparently. The guy who saw me was only concerned about selling the memberships and not helping his clients. I would recommend changing your business plans to encourage repeat customers rather than pushing for memberships. If you give more customer service and helping the customers feel better from the beginning then maybe they will want to return. Also I paid for an adjustment and received only one "pop" and then guy took to tries to get it right. I feel worse afterwards than before. I think I go to a "real" chiropractor doctor next week to have a better experience. This walk in clinic is a joke, don't waste your time or money. read more
