Words cannot express the gratitude I have for my experience with this place-mainly with Gloria! My partner and I were stuck off of an interstate an hour away from Yuma one night. We were desperate to get home to San Diego but kept hearing from insurance companies and tow companies that we'd have to sit tight til the morning. My hopes were still high in finding a tow company but we needed to secure a rental to drive back home too. The only rental car company currently open was Hertz in Yuma and when I called, Gloria picked up. I very briefly told her about our situation and she was immediately empathetic and she just insisted she'd be there when I got there no matter what. We finally got a tow and headed to Yuma. When I got to Hertz at 10:20pm, Gloria was there ready with our car just as she promised and as she assured me the whole night that she would. She was so kind, personable and understanding-I swear I could have cried when I hopped into that rental. My heart is still so full and I still believe I witnessed a Christmas miracle then. It was such a stressful night and Gloria was just this bright light in it all. I know we were blessed, I know we got lucky, and I still shake my head thinking about it all and smile. I truly felt the Holiday spirit with Hertz! Thank you so much! read more

They gave me the car with 3/4 of a tank of gas, but indicated I should return it full. When I asked upon return the said " you only had to return it with 3/4 full. Too bad for you! read more

Be careful of this office! I was charged a Fuel & Service fee even though I returned the car with slightly more fuel than it had at pickup. I have photos from both pickup and return to support this. I tried calling the Yuma International Airport location multiple times and no one answered. Now I have to resolve this through my AMEX customer service instead of the local office. Make sure to take photos of the gas gauge at pickup and return, because fuel charges here seem to be applied without proper verification. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Very deceptive pricing. We rented with manager's special price, when we had to extend because our truck repair was not finished they almost doubled our rate, if that was explained to us we would have returned car at that point. read more

If i could give this place 0 stars I would, the receptionist KAREN was very rude. My reservation was at 8:30am at 10:15am there was still no vehicle ready after another receptionist told me that he had two rental cars that needed to be washed and I was at the top of the list. I was never notified that there were no rentals ready before driving 35 minutes to come up there. He mentioned that there was a kia soul that was ready just needed to be cleaned that I WATCHED them clean. the Kia was still sitting outside when the receptionist Karen told me there were 0 cars available and proceeded to cancel my reservation. read more

Hertz Rent A Car - kia soul - Car Rental Near Me - Yuma, Arizona

Absolutely delightful rental experience. Got off flight tired and sore. Gentleman at counter was friendly, helpful, funny, gracious. He just made the whole experience easy. Gave great instructions as to where vehicle would be. Wonderful vehicle, too. Thank you to Hertz and this young man. read more

For starters they don't do one way rentals and lie about it. They would rather lie to your face and say they have no cars when you just walked past 50 cars that say hertz. I understand if you simply don't want to be short one car out the fleet. I'll never understand lying to a customer period. Not to mention tangible evidence. read more

On a recent visit to Yuma, Arizona, Hertz Car Rental was my rental of choice. Having booked online, I found them to be the most competitive of all rental agencies at the airport. Arriving late on a Thursday evening from Orlando, Florida, management associate Gloria advised that she could - upon my request - upgrade my rental vehicle without charge. Polite and helpful, I was quickly accommodated and out the door. Vehicle return the following week was quick and easy. Hertz was closed, but provided a night drop box for keys and return rental agreement. Having filled and cleaned the vehicle prior to return, no further charges were applied to my credit card. I would never rent from Hertz rent a car again. A car rental is always 24 hours, but not with Hertz it's actually a 19 hour rental then they start charging you after 19 hours. An hourly fee and if you go over 2 hours which is still only 21 hours then your getting charged a second day rental. Awful customer service on the phone. You have to go in to the place to get anything fixed. And then the car I had the lights were so dim and the brights didn't work so I'm glad I made it to my destination alive because I could barely see through the mountains. read more

I just had reserved 4 day's ago a car and had to canceled for personal reasons and I was charge $50 for canceling my reservation that is a bunch of BS read more

Got into a car accident, totaled my car. Already in enough of a financial bind. My insurance was covering the rental, unfortunately hertz was the only one in their network. My insurance covered most of the rental, but hertz offered me their coverage, just as simply as I'm writing it here. The only explanation was that it would cover the cost of the car if totaled for 24.99 a day. Seeing as this is a rental being covered by my insurance I thought that it was them paying for it, since I was not told in the contrary I said yes. Turns out, it's out of pocket. Now I'm out 766 dollars, when I'm already in financial disparity. I talked to employees about it, they told me I needed to talk to the manager Freddy, turns out Freddy likes to dodge my calls even tho I have left several messages and my phone number. Not at all professional. The staff is either inexperienced or incompetent, but now I find myself having to come back from an already large monetary hole. Moral of this story, go with another rental company. Good ol Freddy and his Employees don't give a damn about you. read more

This was my go to spot to get rentals. The female workers always helped. Today the dude (backwards hat) who seemed like he had a million things to do was trash. He was looking for ways not to get me into a rental. I had it with him and hertz and walked 6 feet over and got a rental in 5 mins from Avis. 5 mins. I'm done with hertz if dude still employed here. Thanks Avis read more

I rented a vehicle from this hertz at the Yuma airport. I picked it up and took it off lot next day had a flat. Took back my vehicle after my military business trip was over and left my glasses in them. It was an hour after called I asked about my glasses that I left in the vehicle. The branch manager was rude told me my car was rented out already and that he could not leave the front desk being the only one there. Said he would call back in an hour which he didn't and so I called back to asked he said they haven't been turned in and I told him another person was I. The vehicle that seen me put my glasses in there. I asked for a manager he said that he was the branch manager and I asked for the corporate office which he said I was yelling which I wasn't . He was rude and shows that they are unorganized and under staffed and the people hired can be sketchy read more

05.25.23. Jessie was unprofessional and rude...and gave us a car that was not ready, dust flapper falling off banging on the tire, we also wanted him to come out so we can check out the car before taking off with it so we can have our own pictures to be on the safe side and he blew us off saying that he took pictures already ..just total rudeness..when we brought it back this was the 27th blonde lady was outside when we were parking the car the lady said park it over there at the farther end, but do to my girl being handicapped and we asked her if we can park closer because she can't walk that far, she just rolled her eyes and said ok..and Jessie was outside and we were trying to talk to him and he was just walking away...won't come back to this place again...they need to take a class on customer service and the manager needs to do something..even the younger blond lady was rude read more

Great experience with Hertz. Payed for my rental online and the price was amazing. I let hertz choose the car and all needs where accommodated. The vehicle is in great service. Had no negative experience with this company. Thank you!! read more

What a bad experience! I even was dealing with the manager. I booked a car, same day online, went to pick it up ended up not leaving with a car. 1st person i was dealing with was ok, but couldn't tell me a total. Said my card was declined, there was enough fund, i made sure of this. I had a sleeping baby in our RV so i went out, husband came in was told we can use a debit card. Manger told my husband to have me come back, switched again. Same thing again, Manger then told me to call my card company, I did nothing was wrong with my card. Manger then told me that my credit card was a debit card, that why it wouldn't go through. The manger was able to give a total but gave me three different totals, ranging from 400somthing to 600 something. When asked she couldn't explain why the prices was different. I never do reviews, but this experience was terrible. Will never go through them again! Wasted two hours! read more

Rented a pickup in Yuma AZ. I refused the fuel package (and returned the pu full) and was not told there was a charge for a second driver. When I signed the electronic signature pad I thought I was signing the rental agreement... instead they have me agreeing to the fuel package and a charge for the second driver. The printer was down so I did not get a copy of anything. WATCH what you are signing! A total rip-off! read more

You cannot rely at this car rental company. Reservations are pointless. Hertz ruined my trip and I will sue them for damage. You people at Yuma location are very Unprofessional. I cannot rely and will never seek the service of this location. You will hear more from me. read more

I reserved a vehicle online however when I arrived at the Yuma Airport service desk the man said that they have no cars available this week and maybe not next either. If you need to rent a car -- DO NOT rent from Hertz. Find anyone else -- not them. The cars are way high in price -- they said due to the demand from the military coming in and then they do not tell you -- if you purchase the insurance and are 2 hours late -- will pro-rate the rental car charge -- and not the insurance. So with a 2 hours late -- they want me to pay for a full days worth of insurance. I was told I can dispute it with the national customer service -- not the local one. read more

There's a reason why this place has 1 star if we could negatives this place would get -10000000. Hertz is bad enough with its nickel and diming its customers, but this location sucks. Stay away if you ever have to do a car swap between San Diego and Phoenix. I used my insurance to open a rental car and these guys charged me $75 for Hertz roadside assistance, which they never completed the job. Complete crooks, just learned most manufacturers will do the service for free because most of the cars are brand new, Hertz won't tell you cause they are crooks. Stay away from them, rent elsewhere read more

I never do reviews, I'm just too lazy but this is beyond outrageous. Avoid them like the plague. Got a reservation and once I got to the counter they told me that they didn't have cars available and put me on a waiting list. What kind of business model is that?! How is that you overbook your cars and have no idea about when you'll have cars available? What kind of business model is that?! This is such unprofessionalism that it is astounding. Called them later in the afternoon to see if they had an idea when they will have a car available and their answer was pretty much a shrug. There should be an option for zero or negative starts in here!! read more

We had a normal experience. They did there job. I felt no above or beyond, no WOW factor. But did do the job, professional and was in and out rather quickly. Wasn't impressed but wasn't disappointed either. Not bad for a Yuma location read more

I rent from this location all the time and I'm always very pleased with every part of my experience. The customer service is awesome, the cars are clean and the rates are phenomenal!! I would definitely recommend this rental depot. I travel to and from AZ and CA A LOT! Avoid this place at all costs. When we called, we were told we wouldn't have to pay ANYTHING until we returned the car. Get there & we had to put down a $51 deposit.. okay, fine. Paid it. We returned the car & an hour later we are in church and we got 17 calls back to back. I am not exaggerating.. 17 calls, nonstop. My husband had to get up and take the call finally because they would not stop calling. Cost aside, I will take my business elsewhere with better customer service. read more

Reserved a car for a one way trip to Phoenix with this Hertz 3 months ago. Get to the airport and they have no cars and no idea when one should arrive. Lady at counter didn't seem to care. Took my number and never called. I was forced to book same day with Enterprise at 3x the rate to avoid missing flight in Phoenix. I'll skip using them from now on. read more

I have used the Yuma Hertz location numerous times and I must comment on some of the negative comments in the reviews. I am shocked that there are any negative reviews relating to this location. As mentioned I have used Yuma Hertz numerous times and I can not say enough about about the service levels they provide as well as the pride that all the staff has at the location to look after their customers. I have recommended to some of my associates numerous times and they all agree that they had been looked after to the 9s. As we all know some people present their problems or issues with an extra level of aggressiveness and of coarse there is no options to reason with them. If they were out of cars then that issue and the reason for it can be directed at their head office or central bookings. I just wanted to put my opinion forward as I do know that the Yuma location has always looked after my needs as well as numerous individuals that I have sent there. Thanks for reading my opinion. read more

Upon receiving my super awesome Mini Van! I proceeded to endure a moaning sound from the rear end, almost like gear howl, if the van were RWD... This slowly subsided above 50 mph but at 70 a whole other sensation began to explode. A violent shaking of the entire vehicle that progressively got worse, for fear of my life and the front axle falling off, I decided to trade it in. The night check employee was very helpful and understood my disdain with having a mini van in the first place and said that I should return in the morning in hopes of catching a Tahoe or SUV of the like. The day check manager wasn't as understanding. In fact was very crass and rude, her demeanor and inability to work with me has now left a sour taste in my mouth with HERTZ, would not recommend this company to anyone again. The employees are not knowledgable of the cars in any way. To them you are a number, nothing more. Horrible experience! read more

My husband is in the Marine Corps and was recently on temporary duty in Yuma; the government gave him a rental vehicle from Hertz to make sure he had transportation while on duty there. My husband had to pay upfront for the vehicle and later fill out a travel claim when he got back to our original duty station so that the government could reimburse him...the one and only thing that was required from Hertz was a simple receipt stating that there was no balance owed after payment was rendered...I have never witnessed such horrible customer service in all my life from a rental car company, the employees at Hertz found the task of issuing a simple receipt to be nearly impossible, my husband sat on hold over the phone for over thirty minutes at a time being transferred over and over again by rude and disrespectful Hertz employees before finally getting a receipt, it was ridiculous!!! My husband and I both travel quite a bit, and I know neither one of us will ever do business with Hertz again, it's really not worth the headache! read more
