This goes for all Avis though I had at least a good follow through customer service with the Florissant Meadows manager, but I will never, EVER rent from Avis again. They put me in a vehicle that I couldn't thoroughly inspect with two bald front tires and a slow leak tire on the rear. The main customer service and emergency line is atrocious and when the slow leak tire eventually went flat, they tried to charge me $1700 to replace the tire I had full insurance to. I've been on the phone with them for over 18 hours since the incident and though I have it in writing from them that they would comp me an additional $300 for the unsafe driving conditions they put us through, the last time I talked to customer service, they closed my case and said they would not honor anything because they gave me a 2 day rental voucher. No one could pay me to rent a car from Avis again. Here are all the things wrong that happened with them: 1. Last minute messaged us that the van we reserved was unavailable from the airport location and we would need to drive an extra 20 mins away to a new location later in the evening 2. The van was not ready--still dirty and sticky inside, with children's toys under seats 3. Van had damage to door, slow leak tire (that later fully popped), and two bald, front tires on a weekend rental that had non stop rain 4. TERRIBLE customer service where they told us that we would need to drive the flat tire to the closest available 24/7 Avis....BACK in St. Louis. We had to drive 120 miles with a flat tire that we had to keep filling up 5. Overcharging--when we brought the original van for replacing with a new van, the lambert airport avid marked it as a return and the new van as a new rental, so was charged initially $1900 total for a 3 day rental that ended with a flat and 9 additional hour fiasco because they rented us a bad vehicle. Original rental was quoted as $300 for the 3 day trip. They returned the extra costs ONLY after I had been on the phone with them at that point 16 hours. 6. Lies and empty promises of returning compensation for all of the issues of this van Renting from Avis guarantees that you'll have an expensive, DANGEROUS trip.

There it was a shuttle waiting for us to take us to rental location. Not sure how that works but we were very happy we didn't have to wait. Smooth sailing. The service here was superb! The shuttle drivers and employees were very welcoming and helpful. Restrooms available and a waiting area. Our rental was nice and did not disappoint! The same for drop off! Shuttle was waiting to take us to airport. Great service! Don't forget tip $$ Please remember your pictures before and after inside and out best as possible. Or a video helps too! I always take picture showing full gas tank! Keep receipts available!

I show proof of my reservation with pricing and they say "oh no these fees and taxes are wrong they're higher" On a reservation I had made just the day before... So they didn't honor the price AND a young driver fee that was never mentioned during booking (despite entering our age) was added too. I tried reaching out to their customer support and it's just an online form on their website, no email, no option for adding an attachment to show proof. Two days later they still haven't reached out to me. Overall would not recommend, instead find a rental that is more transparent and offers good customer assistance. The whole thing left me feeling like I got scammed.

Approximately 10 mins away should you decide to Uber it. He ran to the site using Google maps and picked us up outside of STL within 45 mins. My husband was happy because he got his miles of running and exercise for the day! Excellent customer service, we saved $1,000 in fees if renting a vehicle not in the airport, and prior customer didn't refuel vehicle to full tank so we're informed it's okay to return the vehicle with gas; however, full tank not necessary. Our Nissan Sentra was smooth riding! The trunk fit two large suitcases. This baby took us on road trips to MO, IL, IN, OH, MI, and Ontario, Canada. We returned the automobile to YYZ location. Male employee at YYZ checked the mileage, ensured we had everything before parting ways. Male employee at St Ann, MO location personally took the time, left a voicemail on my phone for my husband, inquired if there were any other concerns with the vehicle before closing out the bill. Wow! Talk about personable, Midwest hospitality, at your service! My husband gladly returned his phone call to inform him that all went well, he's ready to close out the bill and thanked the gentleman. We're happy to be repeat customers at this location! Worth the personable customer service, run and money.

Lack of communication about policy's and procedures. When presented with my debit card, he stated " oh they don't like us" referring to my bank. Never communicated that the deposit has to be major credit only and any specific type of debit card . He proceeded to get loud and rowdy and then had the audacity to refer to something as being "common sense" ! that is not how you do business with anyone at all. I don't know how he is manager when he doesn't know the first rule in customer service! Rule of advice, when someone calls and make a reservation, learn how to provide all major details in full and make sure there is clarification on the discussion before letting them off the phone. Leave your attitude and smart mouth at home. I will also be writing corporate office about the St. Ann, Mo. location. Brad you need to do better!!

Upon exit, I was handed a new rental folio, and only after pulling through the exit gate did I realize I had been upcharged for a rental upgrade. This happened because the system at the gate and the employees in the office don't communicate. I did what I was told by the employees at the counter and at no point did the employee at the exit alert me that there was an issue with my rate. More so, they refused to even look at my President's Circle number when exiting. I wasted over 45 minutes of my night dealing with the employee at the exit and going back and forth to the desk. They likely run this same scam on every car exiting.

I was having mechanical issues with my vehicle and called this location and the operator said they could help me. As soon as I arrived and try to discuss my concerns with the four people in the Lobby I was meant with straight Unprofessionalism. The four representatives in the lobby eventually said they could just switch out my vehicle which I tried to explain being a medical student I had a lot of supplies in the vehicle. I resorted to called the hotline and got my mechanical issue resolved, they told me to just drive around and find a mechanical person who could help me which I did and he was the only professional nice person there. After I tried to leave the property and was meant with resistance. As I was explaining my vehicle was from a whole other location which everybody saw me drive my vehicle into the lot. The man who lets you out repeatedly, told me to shut up and took my contract agreement from the Hertz in Springfield Illinois and would not give it back he also would not take my ID off my phone. He said two managers were coming, which I thought great the managers will understand. However, I was mistaken. A woman and man manager approach and told me that I was not going to be taking the vehicle. They told me they were going to be taking the vehicle that they had canceled out my driving contract. I panicked and had to call the police on them. The Police came and verified I was who I was saying to be and that the vehicle was in my name. I ended up, asking both the man and woman manager for their names which they said they will not give me their name. After this experience, I will never rent from Hertz again. Not sure if they are a antisemitic company, but I don't understand any other reason they would act like this. I will be following up with the district manager tomorrow. I also got every single thing on video if someone would like me to send it to them who's in the company.

It was a horrible rental. 1st off, if you're a senior and have difficulty walking long distances or just standing for long periods, avoid this car rental like the plague!! Go somewhere else. You cannot enter the lot in with your vehicle. You must park on the street and walk a long distance across the lot to get to the main door. Matter-of-face, there is no sign to tell you this. You have to find your way in. Again, the walk is extremely long. 2ndly, at the time I went, there were just a few customers waiting in line (I booked online but still had to wait in it) but I waited forever. If you are a senior with difficulty of standing too long, this is not the place for you. If there were chairs available and you were given a ticket to wait to be called, that would suffice. This was not the case. 3rdly, I'm a tech savvy senior and can program infotainment systems for my Samsung phone. I had to program the system numerous of times for it to work Each time I turned the rental off, it lost the programming. Who wants to keep doing that? After the 4th attempt to program the system, it didn't work at all! After about 20 minutes, I gave up. I rent a lot of cars, and this is the first time I've had that problem. Oh, the last grip I had was the "Maintenance Required" light on the dashboard was on the whole time of rental. I don't know why I didn't notice it before pulling off the lot when I picked it up. I would never rent a vehicle from any location where I couldn't get GPS. I complained but all I got was an offer for 10% off the next rental. Not GOOD ENOUGH.

They were over-inflated to 45 PSI when they should have been 38 PSI. Over-inflation is particularly dangerous when driving on ice and snow. We had a flat and learned this about the car: the tire sensors don't even work. They indicate a different PSI than actual, which we measured with a gauge we purchased. All this happened when it was 2 degrees and blowing snow. We were driving to attend a funeral - the very last time we wanted to have car trouble. It cost us a lot of time and money to get the car going. When we turned the car in, I tried to tell the guy about the tire problem but he practically shouted at me, "That's my problem, not yours!" I do feel for him, working in freezing weather, but I wasn't complaining, just informing. I gave up. My advice is to rent elsewhere. I usually use Enterprise and should have done this on this trip. -
