I called this enterprise and they were so helpful. They were able to get me into a car right away so I just Ubered over there to pick it up. As I arrived, the gentleman met me at the Uber and took out our heavy suitcases and then after I rented the car, he put our suitcases into the rental. All of this without me having to ask for anything. The car was in great condition and was just what we needed for our 3 1/2 hour drive to Miami.

I also called to extend it by one day. The representative told me he would call the location directly to confirm they had a car available. He put me on hold, came back, and assured me a car would be waiting for me. When I arrived--no car. The person on the phone later claimed he had tried to call me to say they didn't have any vehicles, which simply wasn't true. At the office, another employee told me I should have called the location directly. However, when you dial the number listed for that address, it routes you to a central call center--not the actual office. I then called customer service again to try a different location. My reservation was changed, and I was told to call the same main number, press 4, then 2, to reach the actual branch. I did--still no cars available. Clearly, a reservation here doesn't guarantee anything. It feels like getting a vehicle is purely a matter of luck.

I read reviews re: this place and based on the reviews locals referred people here for auto work . They mentioned alot on the customer service and that their pricing is similar to dealerships. I was on my way to the car share meet up spot this particular morning and my car started to give up - I had this check engine light icon on for a while but the honda dealership (WINTER HAVEN) checked it out sometime last year and it was temporarily off from the dash board but after paying $1k for them to "diagnose" the issue - the light went back on and I gave up. A few months ago my car started jerking at times when I accelerated. But this time the morning of when I was heading out - the car just gave up accelerating. Thank god I was still able to bring my car back to my driveway at 5 MPH. Called AAA and towed my car to Johnnys which they open at 730am. Upon arrival - I seen this location before passing through haines city - But never thought my experience here was 5 stars. When the tow driver was releasing my car - One of the staff asked me - We can give you an UBER to drop you home and pick you up when the car is ready. DEALERSHIPS NEVER OFFER FREE UBER TO THEIR CUSTOMERS not from my dealership! This UBER was out of JOHNNYS automotive EXPENSE! The place looks like a half barber shop and Fords Garage and Cracker Barrel feel. They had rocking chairs seating in the front along with tables, mini golf to play with for downtime while waiting for you car to be fixed etc. They were open slightly before 730 and was welcomed by 2 employees - The inside of this place was clean - smelled good - Very americana - they seem to be a big fan of the sheriff of polk county since you see a poster of him on the door in front of the massage chair area LOL - So u can tell they support locals from businesses/organizations and of course customers. They offer a massage chair which I used and abused LOL There times I caught myself snoring. They offer a section where you can charge your phone, Also a section where they offer array of drinks in a chiller (water and soda cans) - Fresh coffee (NON KEURIG) - Cookies, Pastries, Chips, Beef jerky amongst the snack options that were displayed. A roll of paper towel stand for any messes while snacking. The small details of this place was pretty awesome from the entrance door handle to the decor inside. So while they took in my car to see the issues - I sat in one of the cushioned chairs by the entrance windows - And I was falling asleep. One of the staff said to me - there is a massage chair in the back you can lay there and sleep if you want. At first I did not know how to take that - I thought he just did not want me sleeping in front of customers coming in etc - But I took his advice and the massage chair is located by the other exit door in the back. That area is close to the restroom as well. Be mindful you are facing Sheriff Grady Judd LOL The restroom is clean - And offered air spray / 2 types of soap for use. After waiting for diagnosis - One of the staff came to me and stated the concern. I agreed with the issue and was there from 730 and almost 12pm. I did not feel pressured with any additional sales etc and I felt that they were genuine about the issue which was weird. As I approached my car and sat in it - There was a lilac rose on my dashboard. - and the car had NO dashboard icon lights at all. God willing - its running like its a brand new car again. My car appreciated Johnnys automotive and the EXPERIENCE here is top notch,. Who gives women a rose after doing car business with them? Johnny automotive does. This is not about the rose LOL its about the EXPERIENCE dealing with JOHNNYS AUTOMOTIVE.

We were on the way to Miami Intl airport but…read moresuddenly in the middle of the road the engine shut down and we almost got hit and crashed by other cars. I had to pull over the car off of the highway. We were trying to contact Dollar but the line was busy. I had to call an Uber and sent my friend from Ft Myers to Miami Intl with a cost of 200 USD. Once we finally spoked to a Dollar representative, he told us the assistance would be there the next 4 hours therefore he suggested to move the car to a nearest Dollar office. I drove the car at 10mph for 45 minutes to Dollar office at Punta Gorda airport, I told them what was happening and they gave me a different car..however when I arrived to Miami Airport next day because I lost my flight the previous day, they added more than 200 USD to my invoice because I have requested a ''Car Exchange'' and more bucks more because I ''return'' the car in different location twice. Basiclly, they are telling me I return the car because I wanted not because their car was damaged. I'm doing a claim, with all the evidence. But until now I can't believe how a company can act like that with a customer. The manager in Miami had the worst attitude I've never seen.     I booked a car rental through Priceline for over $130. My flight itinerary was changed by my…read moreairline, so I called Dollar to confirm that my reservation would be not be cancelled due to my tardiness. I was told I had to contact Priceline, but that everything should be fine. Priceline wouldn't do anything but assured me similarly, and that, on the day of, if I couldn't get a car, to contact them back. Upon arriving to my destination, I waiting two hours in line to finally reach a severely understaffed Dollar counter. I finished my reservation and got my receipt, but when I went outside to the rental lot, they HAD NO CARS available and that we have to wait ANOTHER one to three hours. Unacceptable! I walked away from the line and called an Uber, and got to where I needed to go for $40. (Wish I'd thought of this sooner.) The next morning, I call Priceline to see if they could get me a refund, and they tell me that because I never used the vehicle, I should be able to get a full refund. Two days later, Priceline sends me an email that because I apparently "used my reservation" (I was never issued nor used a vehicle), they could not issue me a refund. Unacceptable. Highly do not recommend Dollar or Priceline.

    Terrible Experience with the Manager, but One Bright Spot…read more Rented a car from this Hertz location on 7/11 and returned it today, 7/21. At no point were we told the car needed to be brought back with a full tank. We don't rent cars often--we usually Uber--but when we do, we've used Enterprise, where everything is explained clearly. When we brought the car back, the tank was at half. The manager, Mike, asked if it was full. We told him no, and explained that we were never told it needed to be. His response? "Have you ever rented a car before?" Completely rude and unprofessional. It was honestly shocking, unnecessary, and hostile. I don't know how someone like that ends up in a customer-facing role. I'll be telling this story every chance I get because people deserve to know what kind of service they might get here. No one should be spoken to like that. That said, John, the other rep who helped was absolutely great--polite, helpful, He was the only bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience. Once I returned from fueling the car, Mike was no where to be found hmm.

The gentlemen that I dealt with at the Winter Haven office were friendly, efficient, and helpful. They had a large supply of cars/trucks to pick from. When I thought I had a problem with the rental car, everyone was extremely helpful, it turned out to be a user (me) problem, not a car problem. I highly recommend them!
