    I have a one star because it doesn't allow zero or minus zero .. I scheduled a 10:45am pick up time to rent an economy car for a few days . While on the phone , I asked if they thought I would be able to check out by 11:30 & the person on the phone guaranteed me I would be equipped with a car by that time & on the road for my trip to Arizona . When I arrived at 10:45am & gave the gentleman at the counter , Soleman my reservation confirmation number & showed him my email confirmation pick up time he informed me there were no cars available, but if I wanted to wait then someone may or may not return a car that I would be able to rent after they completed their check out process & wash & vacuum the car . He informed me that it could be several hours or not at all & I was welcomed to wait . He said having a reservation & pick up time was not a guarantee & really meant nothing . I asked what time they expected a car to return & he said he had no idea . But he continued to tell me I was welcome to wait how ever long I wanted to wait or not . He said there was a larger car I could rent for an upgraded price but did not offer me the larger car at the original confirmed price . He was unapologetic & quite apathetic . I waited until 11:30am (45 minutes ) & there were still no cars available. I consider this extremely poor management & customer service . They ought not give a reservation number & pick up time if there are no cars available. It's false advertising & crappy customer service .

    Horrible choice of cars and abysmal customer service. Cars have issues and blame the customers.

    This location is a dumpster!! The staff are rude and absolutely inefficient! Please go to Torrance much nicer staff and facility.

I come here! On this trip today, I had a rental reservation for a full size elite. I was told they don't have that and ended up having to take a VW Atlas (or a convertible, which was way too small). The outdoor booth, which the app told me to go to when I arrived, was closed. Then I went and stood in the National line and was told that I need to get in the Enterprise line. Then I had to wait in a long combo line of Enterprise/National...what a joke this place is. It's so poorly managed and unorganized.

As an Emerald Club member, I had reserved an SUV, but it was not available when I arrived. I had either two choices--a large pickup truck or a compact. Neither one was appealing to me, but I took the truck. So I ended up spending a lot more on gas, but it was a pretty decent vehicle. I would have preferred the car that I reserved. Normally, whenever I return a rental car, the employees are right there, checking me out immediately. Here, on the weekends, there are no people, and you have to walk up to the main national desk. Not a big deal but just puzzled me. At this location, there appears to be zero value to the Emerald Club. On the other hand, they were very quick to send me an email confirmation when I returned truck.

Today, I returned a vehicle and attempted to pick up a new rental when I was told by Kevin and the acting site manager, Tiffany, that I could not rent a car using my debit card because the address on my ID did not match the address on my lease agreement! This policy was never an issue before and was handled in an extremely unprofessional and dismissive manner. For a loyal, long-term customer, this experience was not only frustrating but highly inconvenient. Because of their refusal, I was forced to gather all of my personal belongings and walk two blocks away carrying my items, which was completely unacceptable and avoidable. The lack of flexibility, customer care, and basic consideration was unacceptable. This location seriously needs to do better. So hubby decided to use SIXT subscription service to rent an all- electric BMW i4. The car was brand new when he picked it up so he was happy! I am only into German cars (Mercedes usually) so this German company was a great choice for us to rent an EV car. Although i4 is little small and low for me (I like SUVs) but it will have to do until our EQE is repaired! Service was great and fast, they accommodated our early pickup for a small fee and it was all good!

    Located in the heart of downtown Long Beach, this Budget/Avis office is located on the ground floor…read moreof a non-descript office building that has an attached parking garage. My family needed an extra car for 4 days to drive all the out of town family that was coming in for our daughter's wedding. They have normal office hours (8 - 5 weekdays, 9 - 2 on weekends), and have only person manning the counter. All the cars are located on the 4th floor of the parking garage, the same place for pickup and return. I chose this location because I am able to walk back to our condo, thus not requiring another car to pick up/drop off. Also, it appeared as a choice via the Costco travel website, AND didn't require prepayment whereas other sites do. I chose the economy option (Kia Soul or similar)...for this location, there aren't many options for cars so got a Chevy Malibu (Full-size) instead. Sulaimain was who I dealt with, and he explained that there is no guarantee of any car even with a reservation. I showed him my license, and he did an authorization on my credit card for $200 over the quoted price. I picked the car up by myself on the 4th floor. Four days later, I returned the car to the same spot...this time there were NO cars on the 4th floor. I took pictures of the outside of the car to document no damage, and a picture of dash to show mileage and gas full. I then went downstairs to the office, where I interacted with Sulaimain again. He knew why I had needed the car, so asked me how my weekend went. I told him and I enjoyed our back and forth. He gave me the paperwork indicating my return on-time, and about a day later, I got an electronic invoice directly from Budget. The rental charge was exactly what I was quoted ($162.86). Having not to pay the airport surcharges makes a big difference in keeping rental car charges down, especially for longer rentals.

Fortunately, I only live 10 minutes away so I was able to test it at home to see if it had CarPlay and it did not. I immediately returned it to the LGB Hertz location without any hassle and got a 2023 Cadillac XT4 instead. Thank you to Matthew for ensuring the car had CarPlay. Matthew has great customer service and this location is lucky to have him. Super friendly. When I returned the Cadillac on Tuesday (6/4/23), he checked with me to ensure that I enjoyed the car. 6/11-6/13/23: I needed to rent an SUV with Apple Carplay for work purposes for another trip. Cody exhibited great customer service skills, ensuring that I rented a Ford Explorer. He looked into possible discounts with AAA, but I wasn't eligible since I booked the car with my company. When I returned the car, I returned the keys to Matthew and again, he demonstrated his excellent customer service skills, ensuring that I loved the Ford Explorer. Thank you Hertz team at LGB!

Once I called to figure things out, they dismissed everything I was saying and refused to issue me a refund + were being extremely rude. My experience here was just AWFUL, be aware of this location!
