I've been a repeat customer at this location for years, and always found the service lackluster, but it never kept me from coming back. Until now. I needed a 6-passenger vehicle for a family vacation and reserved a minivan online months in advance. We took delivery of a Chrysler Pacifica and soon noticed that the recesses in the floor of the rear passenger area were full of food detritus--jelly beans, Skittles, crushed potato chips--and when we swept with a shop vac we got some of it up but the rest was glued down by spilled beverages. During our trip the AC suddenly stopped blowing cold air. This coincided with one scorcher of a heat wave and we had a most miserable 10-hour drive home in 90-plus degree weather. When I returned the vehicle I informed the desk clerk that she should know that the AC went out on us and should be fixed before renting it out again. We got no apology, no thanks, no offer to make things right. At the very least she could have offered to give us an upgrade on our next rental. This was a missed opportunity for Avis/Budget because we won't be coming back. On one previous occasion I had reserved a full-sized car and they gave me a Nissan Sentra and tried to pass it off as full-sized when I pointed out that it wasn't. So I had to wait an hour while they cleaned up a Chevy Malibu with loose carpet with stuffing falling out of it. I've had better service at Enterprise in the past and that's where I'll be doing business from now on. read more

Not surprised to see the low review. You guys suck. I paid in full to rent a vehicle for a week almost 6 months ago. I paid with a card in my daughters name but we are both on the account. Today, when I went to pick the vehicle up they informed me I couldn't pick it up because the card wasn't in my name. THE CARD I ALREADY PAID WITH, RENTAL IS PAID. The ONLY option Avis would do is canceling the rental. It's pretty funny to me that they were ok to take my money but now are not only not giving me what I paid for, they are also holding on to my money for another 5-7 business days. We tried to rent a car twice here. We did our reservation but that told us they do not have any cars available till 5 days. We did get it money back the same day. When we went back, we couldn't get a vehicle bc we didn't have a major credit card. It has been 3 weeks and we still haven't got my money back. They keep making us wait and they were rude about it. I will never use this company again. I will be talking to my attorney on getting my money back. read more

**Update**So Budget tried to charge my credit card $218 4 days after returning it for "the roadside assistance" I supposedly needed on my first day. Remember the car wouldn't start the next morning after picking it up at closing time? But my CC company denied it! HA! I called Budget to tell them I WILL NOT be paying them $218 for them to come charge their car. They say I will. They don't know me very well yet. Lol I did get a nice letter today from the "Roadside Assistance Coordinator". It will be shredded soon. read more

I got a car from them (Fort Wayne )today on 5/31/23 and when I came home and was about to leave for my vacation the rear seatbelt was not working and called the location of the pickup and all the agent said was I have to call roadside assistance and them go threw them . Called roadside assistance and they were telling me I need to go to a pickup location in the opposite direction of my travel to pickup the car and that too 2 hours away. Then I asked if I can pick up the car in the direction of my travel as there are multiple cities with airports and their response I have to call tomorrow and they can then again look for a vehicle in the area I am in. I asked it's a simple fix of the seatbelt and if they can send me a service agent to repair and they said they won't authorize it . Then told me to call the location I picked up the car and the lady kept saying how sorry she was but it felt like a recording as she said once I picked up the vehicle there is nothing she can do as she doesn't have a similar vehicle . Which understand but then she tells me to drive on my trip and call as we go to see if any of the locations have the vehicle. After 1 hr 30 minutes on the call and calls made to both Avis and Avis roadside assistance no resolution on the issue and then they blame the national shortage of vehicles. Not at all happy with the service and I don't expect any help with the Avis in fixing the issue. read more

This Avis/Budget location is my preferred location for both professional and personal travel rental car needs. I always have excellent service from the counter staff. The cars are always clean, full of gas and ready when I arrive. I have never had billing issues or any concerns that weren't promptly addressed. One specific time, I couldn't figure out how to open the gas tank on my rental car while I was in a remote location. I wasn't able to get online, so in my desperation, I called Avis/Budget. Derrick quickly answered the phone and told me how to open up the gas tank. He assured me that I wasn't the first person to ask a question like that and that he was happy to help me! The web site clearly states that the airport location is open each day of the year until 11:00 PM. I arrived at about 8:00PM due to airline delay. No one was there. I phoned central reservations and was told that they had closed at 5:00 PM. Central Reservations refused to assist in any way except to cancel the reservation. I had to go to a hotel for the night. Next morning, I phoned Customer Service and talked with the manager, Capi. She also refused to help, and told me that my pre-paid reservation was not a contract. She offered no agreeable solution at all, was short, abrupt, and rude. She actually hung up the phone on me. Is this acceptable business practice, professionalism, and even common sense? If you think so, then by all means rent with Avis. read more

We prepaid for a vehicle online. The reservation was under my spouse's name. Trevor, the individual working behind the counter proceeded to charge the reservation under me resulting in extra fees. He did not inform me of these extra charges and charged my credit card. Before signing the paperwork I reviewed the charges and noticed additional fees. I addressed the concern with Trevor only to be told he can not make any changes and he proceeded to answer a call on the phone. I was given the option to keep my reservation or cancel the entire reservation and rebook at a higher price. The vehicle is beyond filthy and smells. I made a reservation in March for a trip in July. I rented a 12-passenger van because we were traveling as a family group with ONE driver. I got several confirmations reminding me of our upcoming rental and a phone call a day or so before. NONE of these confirmations told me that we were NOT going to get the van we reserved. We had to travel 1 hour to get to the rental place only to find out that we were NOT getting the van we had reserved 4 months prior. They offered us 2 vehicles in its place. All hotel reservations and reservation for a large VRBO home had been made. We were left with no choice but to take what they offered. That meant that my husband and I (both in our 70s) had to drive one of the vehicles. The drive was to be 13+ hours - too much for us. We ended up leaving that day to split up the trip - paying for 3 motel rooms and paying for gas for an extra vehicle. I feel that AVIS should be responsible for these extra charges! I will be looking for another company to rent from in the future! read more

i reserved a car instead of Avis i went through budget car rental on Coliseum Blvd. We reserved a mini van on April 10th. and we used a debit credit card which was not a pre payed card. they took the money to hold which to hold the mini van. but they never told us that a debit credit card we could not use to get the mini van. and we drove an hour to get the car rental place to pick up the mini van. after we got there they told us that they needed a major credit card to get the mini van. but last year we were able to rent a mini van by using a debit credit card. Even when we went to there web site it even said that this location excepts debit credit cards.to me if they take money and hold it when you reserve a vehicle with a debit credit card then you should be able to get the car with the same debit card. This is one company we won't be going though at all. we even called the 800 number to talk to some one to see if they would allow us to get the mini van but they would not. so we had to call and wait for some one to answer the phone to request for a full refund. and on there site i did not see any thing about saying that you needed a major on there website. so this is one company i would not refer to any body. even my sister said in a loud voice in front of the guy that is one reason that she won't go through budget and she said that she goes though Enterprise. read more

We went close to closing on Friday evening. We didn't mean to be so late, but it was 20 minutes before they closed. They only had one vehicle in stock, it was an older SUV for almost $70 a day. We were shocked at the price (compared to others we have used and liked) and the unfriendly staff. We definitely do not recommend it.
