This review is actually about Budget Car Rental at this location, but since they're the same company and share the same counter, I'll post it with Avis. This is the worse Budget ever. It's the only one I had problems with ever. I arrived to pickup my reservation that had been made a month in advance and they had no cars. No bother to try to reach out to me or anything. Jennifer was basically like whatever and didn't care that I was stranded. I'd never been treated so rudely by such a Budget location. I did file a complaint and their corporate office took care of the issue and provided resolution for me. It's such a shame that such useless employees and such a poorly ran location like this could impact the company's reputation. I hope they truly look into the issue and clean this location up. This airport already sucks, and the rental people certainly add to that. read more

Avis Rent A Car - Trashy Budget location. - Car Rental Near Me - Concord, North Carolina

Based on the past 2 times renting from this rental company and now seeing the multitude of 1 star or less reviews that this particular rental company gets at this location I would say renter beware. The first rental had less then a quarter tank of gas and had nit been cleaned in a couple of weeks. The good news is, it was available unlike the second rental which when I arrived to pick it up, they didn't have any cars and my reservation was not honored. This company is trash. You waste your time making reservations for this location and Avis in general. On Sunday ,March 23,2025 I made a reservation online for a car from this location to CLT airport ,picking up the car Monday 24 @ 3pm and dropping off Tuesday 25 by 3pm. On Monday morning , I get a call from the location stating they have no cars available. They tell me I can get a car in Hickory NC and transfer the reservation to the new location. I decided to call the new location just to be sure and glad I did because they tell me they don't have ANY CARS EITHER. After this, I asked the persons name and he refused to give me this info. So, decided to contact customer service to get a resolution. Now costumer service stated that both locations have cars and don't understand why they told me no. I requested CS to contact them and resolve this for me and they tell me they cant do anything about it. All they can do is revert my reservation back to Mooresville since they do have cars in the lot. about 10 minutes later I get a call from Avis Mooresville from some guy with a massive chip on his shoulder scolding me for putting the reservation back to their location. When I told them it was CS that did it ,he tells me that if I show up there I will not have a car because they already told me they have no cars to give to the airport. Noticed that there is no actual way to contact corporate to actually get a prompt resolution for this type of issue. Needless to say, I was a preferred costumer from Avis. read more

Rented from Avis when I arrived into the Huntington West Virginia airport. The airport is small so the car rental area is the same. You wouldn't know it however because I was helped right away. The lady was super nice and so accommodating. I appreciate people who are customer focused and take the time to listen. Their system was down so I had to wait for them to call in my checkin. Because of their customer service I didn't mind waiting. Thank you Avis. read more

do not rent from this avis location! they will always be out of vehicles, sense, customer service and are certain to leave you stranded! do not rent from this location! the counter help is never available, always sold out of the 10 vehicles they have to rent and will not call you when they are sold out and you make a reservation. they will let you come to their facility and request you call a number to be told they have no cars even though you have a reservation. i repeat do not rent from this avis and do not expect any fair compensation/reimbursement or sound sympathy from avis customer service. i have reported this facility many times and nothing has come of it. not even a call back! dear avis, do better. sincerely, a no longer concerned former customer. read more

Warning! Do not return a car here after hours. We have documented proof we returned a car on time and they called a week later looking for the car. We were told it was all settled and we were good and then billed almost $1,100.00. Called them back and the rude girl said it was all taken care off and the pending charge would come off. Now, it went through on my card. After reading reviews, it seems to be a problem there. read more

Agents use vehicles for their own personal use and turn around to say you never returned vehicle on time when you did. Will call you days later to say you are still being charged. Hardly anyone ever at the desk. The younger girl who shows up to work in Crocs and sweatpants is rude and should not be working there. Will hang up on you if you call and disagree with her and wont even give you her name. read more

Problems are not the location's fault, but corporate's. - Concord relies on the Charlotte Airport sending them vehicles. Typically, Concord only has a few vehicles on the lot, despite reservations for dozens of cars that day. Autos are NOT checked thoroughly and certainly NOT reviewed for safety. - Good luck getting the type of car you want. This past week my husband rented a Taurus whose electronic systems kept cutting out. This affected the touch screen, GPS navigation, climate control and mirrors. It required him to continually pull over, turn the car off and then back on to reset the system and get it to work again. Not exactly what you want when you are trying to get somewhere and most certainly NOT a safe thing to be doing on highways through the mountains. Try to contact Avis. GOOD LUCK! You can almost NEVER get the exact location you were renting from and the corporate phone system is designed to get you to give up, which is what my husband finally did while trying to lodge a complaint. After a half hour, he said screw it. Prior to this, the last car he rented through Avis had window that was previously broken. The pieces were rattling around inside the door his entire trip. Crummy customer service. A keep your customer at arm's length attitude. Poor auto maintenance. Poor reservations system. Ugh. We gave you a few chances. Never again. read more

If I could give them a zero I would. When you call the Concord airport Avis, it directly routes over to their national customer service. We were told when trying to rent a car that we needed to call back in three days so they could make sure a car would be available. My husband called back three days later and was given a confirmation number. Several days prior to our trip we realized we needed to extend the car for another day and called the customer service number. We were told that we did not have a car; that our confirmation was not valid. Had we not called to extend, we would've arrived at the airport at 8:30 in the evening to find out that we did not have a car. The customer service department was absolutely no help and even after speaking with a supervisor, they could provide us with no answers as to why we had a confirmation number but no car. I would never, never rent from Avis after this experience and after seeing some of the reviews on other sites, others have apparently had the same experience. read more
