I'll start with the only positive. The landscaping was the nicest part of the neighborhood and the move-in process was quick. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends. The list of fees was excessive and unreasonable. The non refundable pet fee was far too high, the mandatory smart home fee only controlled three rooms which was pretty obsolete. There were endless add-on charges each taxed separately, and for a three-bedroom home we received only one gate fob, with each additional fob costing fifty dollars. The extra costs weren't worth it, and we had no option to decline them.
Before moving in, management promised that the unit would be professionally cleaned and that the dishwasher--installed so close to the fridge it couldn't open--would be fixed. When move-in day came, neither had been done. The property was in the same condition as the day we viewed it: paint speckled across the floors, paint covering outlets, dead bugs inside light fixtures, unpainted sections in closets and cabinets, a used water filter, and layers of dust coating every surface and vent. The place was filthy, and we couldn't bring ourselves to move in.
After multiple complaints, maintenance and cleaners were sent out. The dishwasher was eventually moved but left the countertop lifted and damaged. The cleaning crew stayed less than thirty minutes, removed some of the bugs but left them on the floor, wiped a few surfaces, and walked out. The outlets were cleaned using paint solvent, filling the home with a chemical odor for days. I was working sixty hours a week at the time and eventually cleaned the place myself while my wife refused to live there because of how poor the conditions were. We later discovered scorpions and camel spiders inside the house, even after reporting a gap under the front door that was never fixed.
When it came time to move out, we cleaned the home thoroughly--far better than how it was handed to us--and asked not to be charged for cleaning. By then, management had changed, and our request was ignored. We were still billed for cleaning and painting, with the excuse that "scuffs" went beyond normal wear and tear.
This company's customer service, maintenance, and overall business practices are unacceptable. We ultimately filed a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General's Consumer Division for their unfair handling and disregard for tenants.
If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, look elsewhere. We moved to Hillburn down the 303 for nearly the same price and now have a garage attached to the house, a gym, golf simulator and free coffee. Also, the management team actually cares about their residents and it isn't all about money. This property is not worth the stress. read more
