I would highly recommend HEB and Taylor for your next event.

This is easily one of my most favorite courses to play in the Denver Metro area. It's a ways out…read morethere for some, but well worth the effort to play this track. It's just awesome. And be prepared for a challenging track! The driving range and practice area are all really nice. It's certainly well above average for most practice areas. I just wish they had balls on demand and not the ball machine nonsense. This course is way too nice to have a ball machine. Couple of warnings. There will be fighter jets and huge airplanes flying over the course almost every day. There's a military base close and I think seeing the jets is pretty cool. But may rattle you a bit of your trying to sink your eagle putt. Next warning is bring a lot of balls. The native grass is completely unforgiving and you will lose balls at this course if you miss your targets. I love the views and how this course sets up. The tee boxes are well kept and the greens are blazing fast all year long. The staff is really friendly and you will agree once you get out here to play a round. It's a big walk to undertake, but certainly walkable if you're prepared for a hike. I try to play early to beat the crowds and try to avoid the afternoon wind. And I try to play often because this Course is just so much fun for a hard challenging test. There's no doubt you're going to love it here too and whatever your skill level-- you will be challenged as well as thrilled with the views.

The story: On July 4th we teed of at 6:20am for our round. The starter was awesome and helped set the mood for a great morning of golf! $92 each for the round but its a holiday weekend and typically, a nicer Aurora course. All good! The course is in rough shape! It has been in the 90s and we haven't had any rain, I get it, it costs money to run a course. Now the bad: The marshall was waiting off the left side of #3 fairway, hands on hips waiting to tell us we were slow. Our carts tell us this, but thanks! The group ahead was moving fast and we did have a slow start (it happens). The GPS said we were 4 minutes behind and there was no one waiting on us, which the marshall acknowledged that no one was waiting on us. No "Hey, good morning!" Or "hey, I know its early and we're all just getting going, but try your best to keep pace today so everyone has a good round" or anything. Just a rude course marshall that unnecessarily needs to nagg golfers. He followed us for the next 2 holes, which really annoyed all 4 of us. It wasn't a great experience after spending $194 for me and my wife to play a round of golf with friends and get nagged straight away. No beverage cart on the 4th of July until after 10am...? We were on hole #15 before we saw the beverage cart. Oh and by the way, 10 minutes ahead of pace at that the turn, AND finished the round in 4 hours and 33 minutes. Seems like we kept pace fine after we got going. If you want us playing speed golf speed your GPS carts up from 7-10 MPH to 12-15 MPH and it may help your grouchy Saturday morning marshall's rude attitude. We'll play elsewhere for a while. These kind of employees should remind themselves we are paying a lot of money to golf on these courses and we all hit bad shots now and again. If there's no golfers there's no need for marshalls. No one wants to shank shots, so CHILL OUT! Cart guys were super cool as usual. Shout out to the cart guys, pro shop, and starter.

We spent the morning on the driving range, and for a bucket of 60 balls it was only $8! The range itself is huge! There is so much space to spread out, that it doesn't feel crowded with other golfers. Although we stuck with the driving range and didn't play a course, it looks like they offer a par 3 on their executive courses, along with a par 4. Not to mention, the bar and grill had a patio with a killer view overlooking parts of the range. Seeing as how we thoroughly enjoyed our morning golfing, I'm sure we will be back soon!

I had my son looking forward to playing golf all week to be greeted by a proShop that almost refused to let us play. After going back and forth and me begging to play after driving an hour and a half to be on time to a 6:15 tee time, they agreed to let us play. On our way out of the proShop we were tough talked and told we would be removed from the course if we held up pace of play and golf etiquette(I shot even par don't talk to me about etiquette) We of course had a blast when we were out there so well done to the greens keeper! After the round we sat and had some food and a lemonade. I watched one of the staff come and publicly dress down a group for playing behind pace. The pace got screwed up at the beginning of the day as we were waiting on every shot first thing in the morning. If you are going to run an executive course- you designed it for beginners. That is why I was there with my kid and many others were with their kid. I would understand if I were at BearDance and beginners were out there and holding up pace of play but not at the links in HR. I obviously won't be back even though my dad and I played the course when I was growing up. Golf is a generational game you guys could try embracing that instead of turning folks off from the game. Lastly, fix the way you advertise your rates. They charged me $180 for myself, my kid and a cart. Website and golf now say otherwise. Very disappointing experience especially since my son and I have played on much nicer courses and have been treated MUCH better.

Now on to the good stuff, this course was redone about 15 years ago by Tom Doak it is wide open and approachable for weaker players but also has a more challenging scoring line on every hole. The course is kept in good shape and if you'd like is very walkable. A few things I'd like to see improved as someone who has played here for years: 1.) replace the trees that die, some of the ones we have lost have really changed the character of certain holes. 2.) invest more in F&B, if there is a full tee sheet there should be one cart parked out by 12 at that large intersection and one lapping.

The Palisade Peach Wheat was made with peaches from Palisade Colorado - it was a fruit-forward unfiltered American-style wheat ale bursting with bright and juicy peach flavor. The Juice Drop IPA had a distinct coconut-like characteristic. There were tropical hop layers without bitterness due to the experimental hop known as HBC 472. The Pub Burger was made with American cheese, shredded lettuce, pickle tomato, onion, house sauce, & a side of coleslaw. The burger was great & had a nice juicy patty. The Reuben was made with sliced pastrami, rye bread, Dijon, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, & thousand island dressing. The pastrami delivered a smoky & spicy flavor with a slightly sweet undertone. Both times I've ordered like appears they were out, so what does that tell you, maybe they need to brew some more beers that people would like? Well back to the location itself. Let's talk about it! ++ For the PGA Tour event, they laid out the course map as a ski hill. At first, it didn't make sense to me. Then, as we began our trudge upwards, I realized it was almost a play on the elevation gain/lost over the course. Oof! It was something. The other couple we were with struggled a bit with the steepness. I can only imagine how tough it was for some ++ Honestly, the other spectators were super polite and kind. Being my first golf-spectating experience, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was surprised with the level of courtesy. ++ You can tell that the grounds crew was nursing this course for a while, it was PRISTINE! The fairways were plush, the greens appeared smooth, and the additional features were just beautiful. ++ The box marshals were really kind and informative! I enjoyed the conversations we had about the course, improvements that were done, and the personal favorite holes. All in all, my experience at Castle Pine Golf Club was solid. While I'm not a strong enough golfer to play here, and my wallet is grateful to not be a member, it was fun to specialty experience!
