Trying to schedule a new patient appointment with Lyndee, the owner of this practice was beyond miserable. Clearly shes not empathetic to new patients and much too much busy for new appointments for non-patients. I requested her specifically due to the form of therapy she does. But her receptionist, appointment scheduler just turned me away. I was referred to other 'clinical' therapists that i did not care for because they do not do the kind of therapy that Lyndee does. Lyndee's form of therapy from her website states: "Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). Empath. Do any of these words sound familiar to you? Have you ever felt or have been told that you are "too sensitive"? Maybe you have felt empathy for others on such a deep level that is hard to explain. You may feel as if you actually begin to take on the mental and emotional state of another and find yourself dealing with added anxiety, depression." Clinical Psychologist don't connect this way which was why i asked for her. But she's too booked up for new patients. So when professionals are too busy, too booked up WHY would they be open to new patients? She should perhaps CHANGE the notes in her profile that shes NOT open to new patients. She was referred by IEHP, i am only 8 min. away from her office. Her consultations dont take more than 1 hour. Yet Lyndee is too busy to squeeze in an hour of her busy schedule to take a new patient TO HELP. Perhaps her empathic ability doesn't connect to new patients that need her. Very disappointment. Yelpers, I Do Not recommend this therapist. Lyndee is too booked. RESPONSE TO LYNDEE'S RESPONSE: You told your office what to tell me. Your office didn't say what i was told. You told the lady in your office to tell me that a clinical therapist could be referred. You told your office you were too booked. Be more accountable of what you told your office what to say to me. It's hard to find words for to give JUST a review for the Avery Centre. I came here about 2 years ago and this place saved my life. More specifically Lyndee Venosta, the very humble owner of the Avery Centre, saved my life- on multiple occasions. I have been to a handful of therapists before and always thought the idea of going to someone to talk out your problems was a bit silly. I never connected to any therapist and always felt like our sessions were forced. I can honestly say that I have never met any one person who so selflessly gives themselves to the business of helping people, and who strives to be better for her clients every day. She is incredibly knowledgeable, goes above and beyond and, I'm sure, only hires other people who reflect that same attitude. Finding a therapist you connect with is hard, and you're not going to connect with everyone. Good thing there are so many amazing people at the Avery Centre that I guarantee you can find at least one! I would recommend the Avery Centre to anyone and everyone from people with a lot of past trauma trying to get better to someone who is not even sure if a therapist will help them. The Avery center was like a guardian Angel during a very difficult time in my life. I was referred to them after volunteering myself to a crisis center and got connected to Marie Greene. I saw Marie for over a year as she helped me work through my trauma in profound ways. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and always made me feel heard and seen. It's hard to find all of the right words to describe the Avery Centre and Lyndee Venosta. I have been dealing with the Avery Centre since September 2018, and I have had two kids obtain services from multiple providers, including Lyndee. Lyndee is extremely caring and has a heart for the children she tries to help. She has listened to me, when I express the problems and stresses in my life with these kids and she's willing to take additional time, beyond the scheduled times for the kids, to speak further to me, to try to help find solutions. I'm not looking to stay at the Avery Centre forever, but as long as I need help and as long as the children need help, we will continue to seek it with Lyndee. THANK YOU! read more

Find it fascinating you are attempting to somehow discredit me by mentioning my change of location since, yes that was the only update to my profile I've made. It's sad, truly, to see you stoop like this. You keep saying "light and love" yet in private emails you sign off with "Good Luck" -- But we both know that is the least of the issues with our private correspondence at this point, don't we? .... I feel it is too important for people to know the true nature of the person they choose to trust their mental health to. As well as their hard-earned money. You have now claimed harassment following my first review after I emailed you two times. Cordially. You threatened me with the police if I contacted you again. Is that what you call light and love? Yes, after the verbal lashing, I walked out forgetting to pay, having been taken so far aback by your unadulterated hostility. Once I was reminded to pay, I responded promptly and was told upon receipt, I would receive the superbill for that one appointment. I waited 6 business days from mailing the payment to you (mailed, yes, within the same city) to email the receptionist requesting all of my superbills, as they had not been sent after my multiple requests throughout treatment. * * * This is when it gets dicey, Lyndee: Lyndee responded with a reminder that I was told not to contact anyone in her office but her (that is the truth and a *request* she has every right to make)-- however, my son was a client of a therapist that works for her company, directly under her. My email to the receptionist was polite and to the point. It is by law within my right, as a paying client to contact who I need to to get records and yes, superbills at my discretion. Not yours. Who would have known I'd have learned of yet another personal trigger after the fact? it didn't matter that my email to the receptionist was polite, cordial and to the point. Or my responses to you following.--All that mattered was that I didn't do what you said to: I chose not to play by your overly-controlling and completely unnecessary "rules of engagement." Again, I would like to make clear, the hostility only reached this magnitude after my first review for your business was left here on yelp. Once that happened, it seems, all bets for professionalism truly were off (... you can see my references to the unprofessionalism of this office in my initial review)... You responded with what I mistook as a single super bill for that last appointment, when my request was for them all. The pdf was itemized and I missed that. I can admit to a mistake. . . My second request was sent four hours later, met with a response from Lyndee citing the time of 7:32pm, (despite her dismissal email to me being sent at midnight), claiming I was somehow harassing her. You then went so far as to threaten to call the police if I contacted you or her business in any way shape or form again. Or if I continued to send "harassing" emails. Does this correspondence work better for you, Lyndee? I will just say outright: Me following up to ask for something that I should have had all along, (even with my admitted mistake)..... Should *not ever* result in you threatening me with a restraining order as you felt was necessary, or with the authorities. You have zero legal ground for any of the above, and you know it. All of this is PURELY retaliatory. You are upset about my review.. absolutely NOTHING in my correspondence with YOU could ever be construed as "harassing" in nature (after all, I have the "paper trail" to prove it)-- Let me make something abundantly clear: I am the one with legal grounds here. Not you. This whole situation is despicable, as is your behavior. Try me again and I will post screenshots here of our personal correspondence so everyone can see your true colors. Consider yourself fortunate I haven't done it already. * * * To new clients: Please note what I failed to notice before signing on as a patient-- This practice has been open for 7 years, the exact amount of time Lyndee herself (the CEO) has been in practice. I would recommend Avery Centre to anyone I know based on the experience I had with Lisa. She was so amazing, understanding, kind, and shared the same beliefs as me. She helped me through a divorce that was incredibly painful and the worse thing I've ever experienced in life. I called Avery Centre after researching for a good therapist in the Chino/Chino Hills area. Diana at the front desk is such a nice lady. Very helpful and kind. Mimi 1 of quite a few therapist whom I met 1x only so far is great even just 1x of meeting I can see she is a very kind and warm hearted individual. I think she is going to do good with my child and help him with what is troubling him. Every one at Avery Centre always has a smile and asking if you have been helped. I should of wrote this review 2 years ago. My daughter was seen by a therapist here a while ago. The therapist made her worst and she tore up our family. The therapist did not listen to me what I had to say. If she would of listen to me I would still have my daughter. Now my daughter is beyond rebellious and suffer from severe depression due to her unprofessional ways. This lady was easy manipulated by a teenager and she wasn't equipped to be a therapist. Can you imagine her believing a narcissist or even a psychopath. This place need to hire people with more experience! read more

My therapist checked out mentally from our sessions weeks before she quit without any termination protocol. I felt like I was a bother to her for having scheduled the appointment at all. She didn't even bother to let me know she was leaving. When I asked to be reassigned, they told me they had no other clinicians to accommodate me after work. They offered weekend appointments, and I was not comfortable with that, as therapy can get pretty intense, and I enjoyed having a session after work and being able to unwind and go to bed after. Overall, a very unprofessional business with no consideration for the vulnerable population in which they serve. Go elsewhere. read more

Definitely one of the best places my fiancée and myself have been to. Lyndee and Ann are amazing and really saved us. My fiancée suffers from PTSD due to the Marine Corp. and the VA does nothing and even tried other places but the Avery center is the best.
