I had a pretty negative experience with Lisa P. I felt like…read morethere was no structure to the sessions & I had a few very uncomfortable remote meetings towards the end (out of about 15 sessions). When I addressed the discomfort, she had an attitude & essentially told me it's her job to challenge me. I agree & my favorite therapist in the past was very challenging, but I think Lisa was frustrated & her delivery wasn't very professional. It definitely wasn't a style that's compatible with my preferences. It felt like she was trying to make up for not adding much input in the beginning by really asserting herself brashly towards the end. She'd be quiet most of session & then ask pretty pointed questions that felt accusatory (maybe they weren't & that was just because I didn't feel great rapport). Either way, I wish she'd have tried some different techniques to help me open up in the way she wanted or been more transparent about the way she saw sessions going earlier. Next time if I feel like I'm having lackluster sessions, I'll bite the bullet & find a better fit for myself. The office hours are pretty flexible though & I liked that you can text to schedule your appointment. $1 fee for paying card, but cheap copay with my insurance.

I had been experiencing back aches for a few months before trying reiki healing, possibly due to…read morethe stress of my work and just everyday life. I seriously thought I had to go see my doctor and request X-rays of my back because the ache was just so uncomfortable. I've never tried reiki healing before so I wasn't sure of what to expect but I went in with and open mind and willing to receive whatever this healing brought to me. Everyone's experience is different and unique so I'll briefly share mine... the setting was so peaceful, Karen made sure she explained everything prior to starting. Almost immediately into the session I started to feel the energy and for me it felt like I was floating on a very peaceful ocean. I felt all the tenseness throughout my back release. It literally felt like it was being pulled out from the top of my head (felt weird but so good), I got so relaxed that I might have dozed for a bit. Once the session was over I felt light, like a weight had been lifted of my shoulders. I went home and rested for a couple of hours. The next day my back ache was gone, I felt good, felt happy and nothing at work could stress me out. All in all...great experience, Karen is awesome and I highly recommend it!!!! She's the best psychiatrist I've ever seen. She helped diagnose me with ADHD after years of academic struggle in my teens, and she knows a lot about ADHD medications, even all of the newer ones. I highly recommend her! Additionally the office is always good at sending appointment reminders/confirmation calls, and helping me book my appointments many months in advance. If anyone is having issues with office staff it's because their original lady Theresa switched jobs (funnily enough she works at the medical clinic I go to for physical therapy now) and since then there's been a very high turnover of front desk staff; almost every time I've had appointments the past two years it's been a new person. That's not the fault of the business owner if they are struggling to find good, consistent staff members. As someone who works at a small business myself I can understand how hard hiring reliable people can be. Once you get past any scheduling issues it's worth it to stay. Getting your foot in the door of a doctor's office is always the hardest part, but it gets easier after that.

I called in asking to see if they had any therapists that were willing to work with new patients using EMDR. EMDR therapy is used for post traumatic stress disorder and their offices popped up when I looked into it on my insurance portal. As a receptionist, there should be at least some type of knowledge base for something like this. I don't expect the front desk receptionist to know exactly what the therapy entails, or even what it is in all honesty, but I do expect her to be able to at least show kindness and not sound like a condescending snob over the phone. Look Wendy, it's not my fault that you don't know very simple things about your job after 20 years. I'm sorry you're still there seeing that you seem to hate the people who come in so much. All I ask is that you either figure yourself out and learn how to treat people with common decency, or retire soon to give the job to someone who deserves it more.

I am grateful IEHP referred me to him because he saved my life and made stronger mentally as a person. I had social anxiety then after a few months I started noticing big results. I became more confident and even more of an extrovert. This man deserves a salary of $150,000 his therapy are highest quality second to none. He is also a genius, he aced classes in university so he could get the most out of it. He is a genius in therapy I've been impressed compared to 4+ other therapists and psychologists. He not only solves anxiety, OCD, depression, suicide, relationship issues, religion issues, he just has myriad tools that he is known for and capable of solving issues/problems within a few weeks/months down the road. What I DID receive was a VM from another staffer at the facility offering me the "opportunity" to participate in a group. I didn't ask about a group, I did not and do not want to join a group. I may not know much, but I know darned sure you don't offer someone an alternative treatment method without even knowing what the problem is. I'm sorry I won't be able to offer a review based on actual firsthand treatment experience, but the choice to eliminate that option was not my choice.
