I dealt with Matthew/ Average Joe Computers the first time about 3 years ago... and the experience was BRILLIANT. Affordable, professional yet personable, customer service and follow up... all AWESOME. Fall 2020, not so much. My mother board blew up and I needed a new computer. I contacted Average Joe (while closed) and left a message. 2 days later, I got an email to call in at my convenience. I did. It was horrible. I was put on hold 4 times ( for extended periods of time to speak with other customers while Im left on hold), the use of the high pressure air canister to clean out a laptop....WHILE WE ARE ON THE PHONE, being more concerend with a customer that JUST walked in than the customer (me ) he already had on the phone, an ABSOLUTE unwillingness to work with my budget, and a general "flip" attitude toward my sale and me being a paying customer. I guess COVID19 has treated this business so well, they can afford to throw perfectly good customer/ sales in trash. Not only is the sale gone, but any future business and future business from referral. "Ya lost the battle, AND the war." PS... Had family visiting, and their laptop wasn't turning on after the flight here. Had no idea where we should take it, so I searched Yelp and found this place. Although the name, "Average Joes" made me nervous that the place would just be average at best, we were really impressed. The guy had the laptop up and running the same day. His customer service was excellent. The building doesn't look like much from the outside and it's a little cluttered inside, but don't let that scare you away. It costs $50 dollars to run diagnostics on your computer, which I have found several other repair shops that offer free diagnostics. The one plus is that Matthew will waive this fee if you choose to have him repair your laptop. Here is the important part - I was STRONGLY pressured into donating my laptop because it "was not worth fixing" after being given a quote of ~$485 for parts and repair. My laptop is fairly new, with good specs, so there was no way I wanted to let him "recycle" my computer for free. He then tried to sell me one of the multiple computers he had in his store. I took my computer to another repair shop and had the laptop fixed for $300, covering the cost of parts and repair. I would never go back to this store, because I strongly feel like the owner was trying to take advantage of me, selling me a new laptop when I didn't need one, and having me donate my expensive computer for him to "recycle" (strip and resell parts...) read more

Wonderful experience! My laptop had the blue screen of death. It was quite old and it was its time. But it had all my wedding photos, and newborn pics of my daughter on it. It took about an hour and I had a portable drive with everything on it. Easy enough. 100 percent recommend for any computer needs. read more

Yes, another 5 star review, and well deserved. I got windows 10 black screen of death over the weekend on my laptop. Emailed Matthew and he responded with tips and suggestions (on Sunday) to try to fix things myself, which was great customer service even though I wasn't successful. I dropped laptop off over lunch on Monday, got a call not very long afterwards, informed that windows startup files were corrupted, he knew how to fix them and I could pick up laptop that very same day. Not being a computer person I relied on advice from average Joe. He set me up with a computer that immediately had issues. He spent a great deal of time trying to troubleshoot what it was on the new laptop and quickly determined replacing it would be best. The issue was with the manufacturer. The computer arrived two days before we expected. He stood behind his product which is running great for six months now. Definitely would recommend without reservation. Average Joe's is great! Matt was able to fix my computer the same day I called in. I needed my laptop battery to be swapped out (apparently it was a confusing internal battery). Even though he'd never fixed one like mine, he was able to swap out the battery and fix other issues that he found. My computer went from lasting barely an hour to now lasting 6+. Computer kept freezing up. Matthew replaced the mother board and also made some other good upgrades. Computer uses Windows Vista which is no longer supported.
